The ICC has literally zero enforcement power and that’s its greatest weakness. They only succeeded with the Balkan guys because the Special Tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda weren’t ICC yet and they had NATO support.

The ICC in its current form is pretty much useless. It utterly failed in the Philippines and in Kenya, in Libya and pretty much anywhere.

It succeed partially in other third world countries because domestic courts allowed it, basically, since they weren’t equipped for the trials.

Pretty entertaining how when literally every hospital, apartment complex, or general civilian area gets bombed, the Russian MoD instantly says "Azov was in there" or "Azov did it", for a Battalion, meaning they got around 1000 troops tops, they sure do know how to get around.

It started like this, it was basically a toy version of the Nuremberg court, but everyone pretty much lost interest in it because a permanent court is too expensive and problematic to keep it going. It keeps opening investigations that go nowhere and it works mostly as a fancier human rights watch.

It won’t do shit in and for Russia or Ukraine unless NATO steps in.
