General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Man, that's such shit... tries to do something useful and unique, and gets hammered down.
Having to take off a week, so soon after debut, may not be good for growth. Hopefully not a big impact though, because the NijiEN guys do well in general.
It's unfortunate but it is what it is.

I don't think it'll affect him too much. Yugo is similar to Mysta in that he has a huge, near impenetrable wall of people who baby him no matter what he does, so he has the momentum to burn.

As I said, there were a lot of Japanese who called the criticism 'short sighted' because Yugo was helping foreigners and was working extra hard to translate precautions immediately after the earthquake (which would have been from midnight onwards).

Some are saying that, because Yugo is a Japanese in birth only and not culture (as he lived abroad for most his life, I think), he overreacted to something they already know how to deal with, but I find that really mean-spirited and borderline xenophobic. Most of the criticisms feel like they're coming from people who've taken a hit to their pride by someone making a fuss about it.

All in all, though, there wasn't really that much of a controversy. People criticised on the video, he privated it, and then it barely bled onto twitter. The punishment seems self-imposed, which, unfortunately, seems about right for someone who beats himself up over little things.

According to the live TL on her stream, there will not be coaches for this tournament for any teams. Not sure if that is accurate or not but that's what Just Sam said.
According to the Liquipedia, Kuzuha's team is confirmed to have a coach (Uruca).

Holy fuck.

Not to mention Azur Lane and Uma Musume both have Vtubers that no one was upset about.
Where do I find this? I managed to google the Uma Musume one, but the "Azur Lane vtuber" only turns up Hololive for me.
Yeah, I hope that Suisei and Towa can steer her properly to shine in this tournament. Onion fans have been salivating for this sort of inclusion for years and its finally here.
I think people are a bit optimistic about Suisei. She's a tryhard who's good in many things, but the people here are going to be even bigger tryhards. Bringing her to a high level in a short timeframe is going to be difficult, genius or not.
Apparently Aqua has said that their team won't have a coach because 'She wants to make her own decisions' but is also letting Towa IGL, which means Towa is the decision maker.
Yeah I think they're screwing themselves by doing that. I'm guessing the reason for it is Aqua's autism not wanting to deal with strangers. Turn down coaching from an actual pro can't be a good idea though. Also I'm not into Apex, but I don't see why the best player shouldn't make decisions.
Shit like this is why I love v-tubers who make their own model, even if they're streaming themselves working on it while it's not finished. And why I don't mind png-tubers for people who are just getting started. None of that fixes a broke brain though, so it doesn't really matter in this case.
It's called having no talent

I shall remain a pleb. Me and dad just tried to get a ticket (surprised he was letting me buy one) and apparently they don't take the type of card I use. Gonna change it because of my job soon though, and the new card is a type that works for this stuff. So I'll have to catch next concert or FES. I'll also be able to watch VOD because the change will take a couple weeks.

Looks like I can only watch first 30 min of each live.

They've got the VA for Pamiat Merkuria presenting for big events and gacha reveals. Not sure why the devs chose an Imperial Russian warship specifically over an IJN one, but I'm guessing it's because her rate was cheaper

I have had trouble with my card as well. I called my bank and told them I was making a purchase in Japan and they were able to work it out for me. These concerts are COMPLETELY worth the money.

If you look at it from a perspective of Towa and Suisei tethering Aqua rather than being good, then it makes sense. Aqua is the one who asked for Suisei because she makes her feel better, apparently.

Agreed. If the others are being coached then people might want to start immediately tempering their expectations towards 'They'll do their best but they're playing to have fun'. Aqua says she trusts Towa to lead, so she will be playing under Towa.

Aqua has also said this may very well be her first and last tournament, so make of the whole thing what you will. To me, I think some coaching could have at least put Suisei and Aqua in the right mindset.

Unfortunately, there IS precedent for this. As you may recall, Matsuri mentioned after a previous V-Saikyo that the Hololive members were only allowed to play with other women after Cover stepped in directly. At the end of the last scrim, Hal tends to host an 'After Party' where they play custom APEX games and jumble the squads. The ONLY team that has featured men with Hololive in this tournament was Astel playing with Roboco and Choco. This includes the After Party matchups.

I guess we'll see how the coach aspect develops, but my gut instinct is telling me that the higher ups definitely don't want Aqua and Suisei interacting with cock possessors. It's just a very weird thing for Aqua to come in on her first ever tournament and determine that it'll somehow be better for them if they don't get coached by a pro when all of their opponents (possibly) are.

Well for me dad was able to to find a list of card types they take and the type I was using wasn't on the list. So unfortunately there isn't and wasn't anything I could do

Well you tried the legal way. If you feel you want to deal with Chicom antis, use the above.

What were you trying to use, Discover?

Management has nothing against male coaches. Here's why I know this:

Pictured, the two coaches of Matsuri's team in the last tournament. It was the girls own decision in the end. Which is perfectly understandable, after all:
  • Suisei has her own image of what an idol is
  • Aqua has autism and is scared of strangers
  • Towa lost a chunk of her fanbase to a certain incident
