TL;DW - Capcom is being REALLY anal about what is and isn't allowed in tournaments now. Half of the lawyer speak was translatedby Ultra David, who apparently is familiar with law or something.

What happened to Capcom after SFIV? They were the company every non-Capcom player wished their game's developer was.

Oh yea, the MK community is beyond repair. MK11 was one of the most boring fighting games ever made, and I'm pretty sure they refused to nerf Jacqui Briggs because she's the super strong and independent new black woman that fans didn't really like that much. They left her overpowered because it would overexpose the character during tournament play in the hopes of making people like her.

I hear the MK3 community is still pretty based, but they're so underground that there's barely any point in participating.

The funny thing is, Jacqui's tower ending was better than Jax's "Wakanda Forever" masturbatory bullshit and was more in line with overall MK lore.

Jacquie: I will valiantly sacrifice myself so my dad will have a happier life.
Jax: I'm gonna change history so my white friends seize to exist.

That ending really sullied Jax's image because any friendship between him and the Cage/Blade family seems so hollow when he would sacrifice them the way he did without remorse. I do like how in Jax's ending, Raiden tries to stop him as he knows what he's doing is a terrible idea.

Wouldn't it be a better idea for game dev companies to not get involved at all? Seems like it's creating unnecessary headache for the fans and just corporatises the whole thing rather than be about the matches.
Nevermind, I watched the video and it's a licensing thing, companies have to get involved.

No real predictions. Just a ton of fake hype behind mostly boring list of games

- Infiltration wins another game so we see trannies and jannies discourse for another week
- Sonicfox says some gay shit about being the best in a coomer game and bland ass "d1 throw" game
-DBFZ will have players up in arms about lab coat 21 cause she won't get nerfed in time
-Some wack commentary on all games

Melty getting its time is good to see, but begging for some side tournaments cause I'm not watching most of this shit

I thought he had massive hips in the trailer, but that's just silly.
I'm guessing its a localization only thing, JP wouldn't care about pronouns right

According to Arcsys, Testament was originally a man and is even referred to as "Kliff's adopted son" but was rendered genderless as a part of the Gear modifications, and this is all pre-Strive stuff. I could dredge up the Japanese blurb but it does actually use the phrase "androgynous" and "sexless", but there's no mention of pronouns because Japanese language rarely uses pronouns in general.

That said, this new design is obvious troonbait.

Capcom had a lot of internal restructuring that lead to them being super risk-averse when it came to making games. Around SF4's release, Capcom set a new standard that every game franchise had to break 1 million sales otherwise it would be considered a failure. This is why Mega Man and everything that wasn't Monster Hunter or Street Fighter died in the early 2010s.

The reason why we got five billion Street Fighter 4 rereleases and nothing but Monster Hunter games and spinoffs during the 2010s was because MH and SF were the only two games Capcom felt confident enough in being able to meet that standard. Capcom's humanity fully died when 2010 hit.
Troons everywhere rejoice... Testament from Guilty Gear is now officially a tranny with they/them pronouns on -STRiVE-

It's only in the localization, but troons will run with the "they/them" shit regardless. None of the troons celebrating play Strive anyway. At most someone like Sonicfox is going to try to pick up the character, get his shit pushed in, and then quit.

I never really got the grammatical logic for a singular "they", he and she use "is", they uses "are", which is plural.

I'll never get why the Japanese way of drawing an "androgynous" character is to draw a girl, remove the tits, and call it a guy.

And it's working

Already places like the GG Wiki have changed Testament's gender (in this case they used "Non-Binary"), and locked the entire article from further edits (i.e. Admin Only). Seems like someone tried to get rid of the changes, but that only pissed the mods off even more.
