What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

For me it's always a single moment. Can't remember his name/channel, but a very technical digital-music-recording guy I watched for years was gradually becoming less interesting, increasingly devoting his videos to responding to dumb comments on his previous videos, etc., when suddenly one day he said that believing there was such a thing as a poor implementation of flac decoding was the same as being a white supremacist. The end. He was, of course, British.

I don't really know anything about coding or decoding or whatever, but how the fuck are those two things related at all?

Seen a few of Chill Fuel's videos and they are generally decent and well edited, but started watching this

He basically immediately says that there are 100% legit verified sources on the internet, and some of his examples are The Guardian and Wikipedia. I'm not sure if I can trust any of the research he does if this is his actual belief. Then he goes on to shit talk 4chan like wikipedia isn't basically as unmoderated, just controlled by cliques.

Shit, I'm old enough to remember the Guardian pushing "Saddam has WMDs that could hit Britain in 45 minutes". Surely so is he?

To add to the thread, I like learning about cults and so I watched Lloyd Evans, he was kind of dull himself but he would show clips of JWBroadcasting which was always hilarious/unsettling. Until the drunk livestream where he admitted to banging hookers for years with his Patreon money for sex abuse advocacy, while his wife and kids were at home. Now I still watch him but only to update his thread and laugh at him digging himself deeper and acting more of an idiot.

But he seems scared to admit he isn't as liberal as he was, so has just been getting worse and worse trying to find a way to shit on anti-SJWs because he doesn't want to be seen as being conservative or simply not as liberal. I still watch YouTube. There are times when I'm very disgusted by what the algorithm shows me though. I watch a cute animal video and then the next video is one of those fetishy animal deaths or predators hunting in gorey detail. I just want to see parrots being idiots not getting caught by a snake, please and thanks.

The worst is the photoshop thumbnails that actually add gore into the picture. They'd be hilarious if it weren't for what they promote.

• jogwheel/ideo - they used to do Is It a Good Idea to Microwave This?, one of the absolute gold standards for early youtube, a great concept well-executed by charismatic hosts. when that series ended, the guy who ran the channel implored people to stick around because lots of great new content was still coming. and i'm sure he was right, but at the end of the day i subbed for the microwave show and nothing else. i didn't sub for jon paula's movie reviews. maybe they're good, i dunno, but with the knowledge that there were no more episodes of the microwave show, i dipped.
• cr1tikal - losing his mystique killed him. the big nipple monster who dubs infomercials became this haggard hunchback who dramawhores. what a fucking shame. what an actual fucking shame.
• purge - dota 2 youtuber. used to be cream of the crop back in the day, he was the guy who got you started with the game. just kinda realised that he plain sucks ass at dota but insists on ordering people around anyway. maybe age has caught up with him, maybe he was never good, but i've grown weary of him itemising poorly in streamed games, rather than doing any kind of insightful commentary/offline video. his views have tanked big time anyway. also he plays with slacks too often and slacks is annoying. great host but his ingame commentary is annoying.

VOMS is better than anything hololive does anyway

Is there any good run down about what happened to mindcrack? I've seen things like guude crying at his dad's grave about failing as a youtuber then one of the other guys getting into this crazy divorce mentioned on the farms, but there is no good overall run down on the group's collapse. It sounds like a hell of a story for what happened.

i would love to know more, but i've been out of the loop since guude decided to whore out the mindcrack brand, causing a bunch of guys (including etho and bdoubleo) to leave. perhaps it's time to do some digging... might make for a decent thread.

For Whang, I'm just not interested in any of the topics he talks about anymore. His videos are still well made, and I enjoy his older stuff, no hate towards the guy.

For Crit1kal, it seems like most of his content anymore is just stream highlights, which bore me to tears. It's a shame, since he used to be one of my favorites.

For Matt McMuscles, along with Pat Stares at and WoolieVS, the SBFP spark just isn't there anymore, and back in the day they were my absolute favorite channel.

I think Cr1tikal is one in this and other youtube you hate and everyone loves is mentioned quite often. For me, you can hear in the podcast that he is not interesting as the rest of them and is usually quiet or has surface-level inputs. Once he became big on Twitch and his youtube became a dumping ground for clips it was done.

Yeah I have a few, though I'll have to be pretty abstract most of the time since I've forgotten a lot of them.

- There were two events that coincided with me dropping a lot of channels: the release of TLJ (e.g. Quinton, IHE) and the period between 1 and 20 June 2020 (Young Scrolls, Team Four Star).
- I'm a manchild, so I used to watch quite a few cartoon channels when I was bored. Dropped all of them since them, but of note was Saberspark. I was always slightly wary of him, but then he reviewed some Filipino or something movie about conquistadors and he was going non-stop about atrocities and colonialism. Also for a guy who made a meme about mispronouncing every foreign-sounding name he says, he had no issue pronouncing these names that I couldn't even wrap my head around.
- Mother's Basement after the piracy video.
- Mauler at around the Black Widow video. I'll go against the grain and say I'm not fazed by the length, but coupled with the fact that he's going on bigger and bigger tangents in each video, and that I'm not watching capeshit anymore, I just don't care that much. Honestly though I'll probably still rewatch some of his pre-TLJ videos from time to time.
- There's another cartoon youtuber. I don't remember his name, but he was like this Blues Clues-like motherfucker who might have been a bit too obsessed with appearing wholesome, even if the subject matter was much less so It was PhantomStrider. Creepy, sure, but I dropped him because he put Ed Edd n Eddy at the top of a top 5 worst overrated cartoons list and I just can't trust somebody like that.

He was one of the channels that jumped on the "everyone who hated TLJ is an entitled bitch" bandwagon. I had heard he's since moved past it and wanted to forget it, but I just haven't been interested in watching him since then.
