See the funny thing is that, depending on the sport, you could make an argument that men and women are on equal footing. In fact, I've found a public health researcher arguing just that, but stating that it applies to all sports! Even the articles she quotes, which point to the fact that in endurance sports women can often finish in the top 10 or better, a man often still wins. But in those sports (in the case of long-distance racing, already a mixed sport) women's performance is often on par, or slightly above men in the case of shooting. So it's stupid to think that women are just inherently worse at sports. Were that the argument people were making, then she might have a point.
