The press has been using mismatched photos since the start of the war (and forever before that, if we want to be technichal). The story itself may or may not be bullshit, but somebody going "we need a picture of a burning base for the story" isn't proof it's fake.

Given that they wound up with most of their standing army stuck in their easternmost provinces, while they have to rely on Volkstrumm to harrass the equally shitty Russian logistics, it is safe to say they are doing about as shit of a job as their opponents. I guess that's why it's important for them to spam the propaganda thick and lie out their asses, so that impressionable people think they really are killing a gorrilion tanks a day or whatever other bullshit 'atrocity' they think of that seemingly happens, despite them doing such a 'good job' of defending their lands.

Well yes, it is the wrong image for sure. I am very sure the strike they are talking about is the one from about two days ago where a barracks at an airbase near Lviv? was hit, possibly killing like 200 people. Honestly in my great opinion the idea that they used cell data and not, like, IDK the fact that there is a barracks next to an airfield is kinda rubbish.

Literally most of the military is in the east, that's where a lot of the Russian military is coming from. A quick glance at a map that shows what territory Russia has should help you figure that out.

To be fair, the First World War was the most imbalanced in favor of the defender warfare ever got (pardon my gamer terminology). The real problem is that it was so overpowered that the whole world has spent the hundred years since specifically trying to counter the trench meta.
