USA used to have the best of everything. Manufacturing & tech being the big ones. Losing their lead in software and microchips was such a limp dicked move it's almost unimaginable. An incredibly educated country with tons of resources reducing itself to the service industry is a powerful self own.

I don't know if NIMBYism and hatred of the "poors" and those factories "ruining the view" is part of the reason that manufacturing is gone.
