Also the Russians have yet to prove that they can just camp outside every Ukrainian city indefinitely.
Tell me you know nothing about the last 2 Chechnyan wars(and the fact Russia has taken more cites than any other nation since WW2) without telling me you know nothing about the last two Chechnyan wars.

This, but unironically. They'll take the pro-Russia fringes (officially or as "independent" Memeistani republics) and make sure Ukies can't fuck with their Crimean base by building any more dams, but they don't have enough men to occupy the subjugate the country and there's nothing there that would be worth occupying anyway (most of the mineral wealth and heavy industry is in Donbass)

Getting mad "here's how Bernie can still win" vibes from these guys.

Didn't work out too good for Adolf Hitler, lol.

But no, that's retarded. There's no luxury in being invaded by a much bigger country that can afford to camp outside your cities pretty much indefinitely, while the defenders slowly run out of vital supplies and get murdered if they try to push out into open terrain. The situation the Ukies are in is really bad, which is why their propaganda is wildly delusional as a form of epic cope.
The Russians haven't too much of a margin, given that Putin still patently hesitates to have a widespread call-up of conscripts and reservists. Active service Russian ground troops, paratroops (the much memed VDV) Donbass militias, Kadyrovski, railway troops, high quality naval troops and their like don't sum up to vastly larger than the various Ukrainian militias. Russian tanks have proven to be not that great, and the Russian air arm still has failed to abolish the UA air capacity, and they are suffering thanks to UA's Western supplied MANPADs and their own resources. Hitler was at war's end vastly outnumbered, attacked from all directions. The waterlogged Russians outside Kyiv still are not near to surrounding it, and are laying down mines. They've barely advanced and lost some territory they took. Only in the south thanks to a combination of well placed railheads, the Chechens as reliable jannies to free up fighting men and naval support has there been any clear Russian advance. Russia is extraordinarily sanctioned while Ukraine is fed a continual supply of decent quality weapons. Likening the Ukie situation to Hitler might be 'wildly delusional.' I think if Putin gets an offer he considers realistic from the Ukrainians, which doesn't give him quite all he might want, he might grab it with both hands.

Realistically if a regime change is forced in Russia due to the actions of Putin can the bloodline be restored? Theoretically the British Crown could make a reasonable claim to the territory of Russia as reparations for the sins of the Bolsheviks.

It's quite funny that new russiaboy cope is "3 days left", because when invasion started Kiev was supposed to fall in 3 days :story:

You're retarded. Chechnya was 17,300 km2 of land with a million people living there. The after effects of which would shape Russian history for the next two decades.
Ukraine is 603,628 km2 and a population of 40 million.
You think a Chechnya war times 10 is going to be worth it?
Are you going to just display the same obtuseness which had the Soviet house of cards collapse unto itself.
I forgot to add this to my last post, but I downloaded the video "Inside A White Supremacist Militia in Ukraine," uploaded by TIME on January 8, 2021. I'm worried this one might be removed, so I'm uploading it here.

The description reads, "TIME Correspondent, Simon Shuster, travels to Ukraine in the summer of 2019 to investigate white supremacists militias that are recruiting people to join their fight."

This second video was originally just called "Ukraine Today." It's basically a compilation of all the horrible shit the Azov Battalion has done to civilians. I think all the clips have been posted throughout the thread, but this puts them all in one place, and there are subtitles. It has the women who were tied to a tree and beaten; the video of Ukrainians being held hostage, face down on the floor, with the soldier playing the piano; the Ukrainian beauty blogger who just so happens to be there for emotional photo ops; the order to castrate Russian POWs; the American military volunteer who talks about being sent to Kiev with no weapons or gear, being sent back to Kiev from the border as he was trying to escape, then finally being smuggled out of the country by a humanitarian group.

Does anyone recognize the guy is at 1:04? I'm pretty sure it's from a livestream, but I don't know who he is. If anyone has more info, it would be much appreciated.

For people who can't watch, I transcribed his part. If it's worded awkwardly, blame whoever subtitled it. I think he's reading a question from a viewer at the very beginning:
"Anatoly, what is your opinion about the journalist's speech on Channel 24?

I understand what you mean. They quoted Adolf Eichmann, Hitler's comrade-in-arms, and, in fact, called for the killing of Russian children. I think it would be right if the Russian Federation dealt with this. Wouldn't it? Reasonable? I think this would be right.

Do you want to know what's going on right now? I'm telling. Now, all people who, at one time or another, dared to criticize Zelensky or his entourage are being detained. Everyone is totally smashed. I mean public people, even some non-television people, but only bloggers. The SBU comes to them. Sometimes, they get beat up right at the time of detention in front of the family, and then detained. The bitches from the SBU have gone completely off the chain. They are now led by Poklad Alexander, nicknamed "The Strangler", colonel Zelensky appointed him to the post of general. So, Zelensky gave him full carte blanche in the SBU to destroy everyone who even said a word about Zelensky. These are not only arrests, searches, extrajudicial killings, torture, but also murders. Here, such a 'denazification' is happening now."

*Reading a comment*

"I don't need to be rescued from the SBU. But for those people who are now being taken away this is no longer a joke. With needles under the nails... with all this history. And they should be saved. However, no one will save them, and they know it. Right now, there is such lawlessness that it simply cannot be realized. Just mayhem! Now, they do whatever they want. Moreover, with people who did not even smell of separatism and any crimes. Just critics of Zelensky. The strongest story ever."
At 3:45, there's an older couple who escaped Mariupol, and they talk about the Azov Battalion shooting people who tried to flee. The subtitles are cut off, so I transcribed them from a different video. They aren't quite the same, but it'll do.
Man: "They [bodies] are covered outside residential blocks... and in stand-alone houses, they just bury their dead where they live."

Reporter: "Did the Ukrainian armed forces assist you in any way?"

Man: "Nothing! Nothing! Not so much as a humanitarian corridor!"

Woman off camera: "We sat in a bunker!"

Man (crying): "Fucking Azov! Civilians were escaping, and Azov were shooting everybody, motherfuckers..."

Reporter: "What was Azov doing?"

Man: "Shooting at columns of civilians, in the direction of Volodarsk! They shot busloads of people!"
This propaganda isn't going to work on anyone. Western liberals don't care about foreign neo nazis when years of media narrative has painted Russia as the source of all evil. And white supremacists are definitely not going to respond well to someone trying to paint their ideology as evil or that maintaining order is evil.
"Oh no. They're taping looters to poles as an act of public humiliation"
Man, I wish someone would have done the same to the looters back in the summer of 2020.
This whole situation is ridiculous. You've gotten to the point now where if you cut a Russiaboo a antifa faggot bleeds.

That is the war the west trained Ukraines Army to fight, but from what I am seeing this war has become something entirely different. An organized Light Infantry Army going up against a wholly mechanized Army...and winning. Ever since the US wars in the middle east, there has been debate in strategic circles as to just what is the most effective combat formation. Light Infantry or Armored. The US, having infinite money, went with the little girl solution. "Why not both?!" as such we have entire divisions of Light Infantry and entire divisions of Armored, with most forces being a weird hybrid capable of doing one or the other. This was aided by the fact that Light Infantry was ideal for counter insurgency. But the question remained as to whether or not they were effective against a peer power.

The logic as to WHY Light Infantry has suddenly become a subject of debate is due entirely to computer miniaturization. Computers have gotten small enough in the last 30 years that you don't need a massive truck or tank to hold the guidance system for a missile. You can fit the thing on the missile itself, and make the missile light enough to be carried by hand. Where before you need a 40 pound computer mounted to a truck in order to launch a guided missile at an attack helicopter, now you just need the equivalent of a 2 pound laptop. In essence, an infantry platoon dismounted is now capable of the same fire output as a mechanized unit 40 years ago.

There is the downside, in that dismounted infantry are not capable of advancing as far as vehicles, and can be exposed to enemy fire. At the same time though, light infantry is not restricted by fuel, or road access. In some cases, a Light Infantry Company can actually advance faster then an Armored Company as it is capable of straight line distance marching. Its also not restricted to roads in certain circumstances and is able to spread out. There is also the pure Machiavellian observation that a Light Infantry platoon is far cheaper to lose then a Tank platoon.

I think this war is ending the argument. The Tank as it exists now is functionally obsolete. Which is a huge problem for Russia, considering how tank heavy their Army is.

The hohols are not winning . They're slowing the vodka niggers' advance, and making it rather harder than expected, but they are far from winning this war, christ.

This is also not an end to the argument of "Mech vs Motor", Russian tank doctrine has been rather... strange during this conflict. Other powers are likely to devise effective countermeasures to Javelins, Starstreaks/etc, be it through doctrine or technology.

Russian victory seems inevitable.
True.

But you have to be delusional to think it was worth it at this point
For the guys fighting? Definitely not. Wars are usually a scam to trick young poor men into committing murders for rich older men and this one's no different. For the Russian government? I have no idea, but they probably think it is, or will convince themselves they had no choice. They'll give each other awards and medals and say they're heroic liberators and whatnot. Sucks, but Dubya and Tony Blair are still millionaires, instead of being in jail. The world's like that.
Are they going to repeat that for every city in Ukraine?
They won't have to.

Also, just found out that @MapsUkraine got suspended. It's a pro-Rus Twitter account just like ASBMilitary. Let this be another reminder to archive everything.

Twitter also took out his backup @Maps_Ukraine at the same time, maybe they read all his tweets, because he mentioned it about a week or so back.

The way twitter works though is that he'll probably be back and others like @RWApodcast will point it out when it happens.

Isn't it kind of true though that red dots and iron sights are roughly the same thing. As in you can't like magnify either of them, just adjust for elevation and windage and then fire.

Given that most casualties apparently come from CAS, Artillery, etcetera, I should imagine that whether or not you equip your grunts with Holographics/reflex sights/Red dots has a marginal effect on the efficacy of your army.

Its been 30 days. And I would not call the Russian advance halted. Stopped dead in its tracks would be a more accurate statement. Russia had strategic surprise in the opening weeks of this war. That is going to change as the spring thaw sets in and it becomes easier to move about the country. Russia may have the larger army, but it does not have the larger force in theater. And that is the key caveat here. The way they prosecuted this war meant they had 30 days to win it. Now Russia has another 30-60 days to hang on to what its taken, and hopefully massively reinforce. If the battle lines have not meaningfully shifted by June, Ukraine is almost certainly going to counter attack.

The Russian Army is three sheets to the wind right now, and it seems nobody is daring to tell Putin this fundamental truth. Russia needs to initiate general mobilization now, and begin massively reinforcing its fronts in Ukraine with reserves and conscripts. If they don't the troops engaged are going to break. Its as simple as that. Even the best units cannot sustain 3 months of conventional warfare without rest, refit and reinforcement. All the units currently getting kicked in the teeth are going to need to be cycled to the rear and replaced with fresh units soon.

Russian offense right now is stalled. All damage they do now is through missiles and air force. They started long game.

However, the truth to the matter is that Russian long term perspectives are looking bad. Their logistics sucks. Sanctions are yet to hit with full force, and already every european country is looking to relpace Russian oil and gas with alternatives. By the end of year Europe will consume much less russian gas that they consume now. With the time internal pressure will only grow stronger, and economy weaker.

I don't see any win condition for Russia. And I definitelly don't see any scenario where Russia is better off than before the war.

According to the wiki map it now looks like Russia has that land bridge to Crimea plus some.
And they went past the Dnieper River where I fully expected them to stop. If the Ukie's had anything for Russia that natural barrier would have been the place they could have stopped them.

Reposing this meme because it is now proven completely true.
