While it did have some organic grass roots upbringing at some level, I do largely believe atheism was the first astrotrfed movement on the internet.
Reddit for sure did that when the site creators made r/atheism a mandatory sub when they started.
I also do think atheist youtube (people like TJ Kirk and Darkmatter) was astroturfed by youtube and google itself.
I'm not saying they had special connections to silicon valley but from 2006 till like maybe 2014 (and in some cases in the present day) you could have sworn they were always promoted on youtube by youtube.
While any real opposition was seemingly pushed down.
