I'm willing to place money that if some drunken asshole ever tried to rape him, he'd tweet about how it validates his female identity and made him feel beautiful.
True but I don’t see any guy wanting to rape:

I can only imagine they thought he looked like he was pushing 50 and not he is in fact, only 38.
I don't know how troons expect anyone to believe these Real & Happened stories.

In the UK you can be ID'd if staff think you look under 25 (yes the UK is that retarded). No one on God's green Earth would ever assume Jim looks a day under 30, and even that's being extremely charitable.

If this happened at all, guessing they wanted a look at his ID in case they had to give details to the police later.

I can see someone making a Youtube career mocking Jim's career and awful tranny selfies that he is only absorbed in now.
That implies Jim is relevant enough for someone to even make the effort of one video.

I can maybe see TheRightOpinion doing a piece if Jim ever does something really stupid that catapults him into the public eye, but ultimately I think the youtube views will dry up and he'll just retreat to Twitter to bitch about transphobia and beg for money.

"Sir, you look to be 58 years old, unless you're supervising any children please leave the playground. I have heard that you were using the equipment and the parents around here are feeling weirded out by you. I will have to check your loicense to see if you're registered in any of our databases, just to be sure. Wait, you're 38? My condolences, still fuck off please."

I think for some shops the policy is just to ID everyone because people I know and I've been ID'ed before while clearly being over 25.

I can almost believe it because it seems like Jim insists on dressing like a teenager, and Britain is hardly going to run out of overweight Vicky Pollard types in the near future.

"Muh JKR". "Muh Putin".

>"bullshit doesn’t deserve challenging".

No one has ever argued that. LOL. The issue with the JKR "discourse" is that trannies are the most hysterical people on Earth and seem more hell bent on trying to prove that JKR and anyone who isn't pro-troon is literally Hitler.
Putin also supports arresting murderers and pedophiles. Hitler ate sugar but that doesn't make you eating sugar evil.

This is too much of a stretch.

It's funny, I did think Gone Home was kind of interesting, but I never thought it was any hill worth dying on, it's a valid criticism to be made that you need to have some actual gameplay with your story.
To Jim's credit, he did actually condemn the bad ones while most game journos praised them endlessly. While he did defend the use of the term "art game" instead of "walking simulator", I'm willing to maybe give him the benefit of the doubt on that.

It was learned during GamerGate that the reason journos defended those bad games was due to fucking the devs, or having financial motivations related to indie-fund and other organisations. On reflection, it does make me wonder how deep in the clique he was given that he was willing to call out the walking simulators that failed to do meet the low bar set by the genre.

You know I'm watching one of MauLer's video essays and he kind of hit the nail on the head about why people like Jim are floundering.

Not because they're a troon. But because they put out such low effort and poorly researched junk and people have grown tired of it.

That is all.
Which video?

Where Gone Home unironically deserves credit is it's recreation of a house circa 1995, they really captured a lot of details, sometimes real subtle ones, that brought back memories myself.

It was done realistically rather than in a cheaper nostalgia way, like for example the fact that the sister owns a SNES, which is what I was playing in 1995, than a then brand new PlayStation which would have been a lot less likely.

And some of the general atmosphere was neat, like the storm warning on the TV.

As soon as I realized where the story was going though I was meh on that though and I never played any of the other walking simulators because the novelty wore off fast.

I forget where I read this, but someone said that the real problem with "Gone Home" wasn't "It's not a real video game" but instead "It has no reason to be a game". They basically said the story doesn't benefit from being interacted with beyond a few small details being given indirectly, and the core story of your baby sister catching the gay but your parents being too not-progressive enough to accept the lifestyle did not need gameplay to be told. Putting other issues the story has aside, the gameplay itself is just walking and looking at stuff. The story doesn't benefit from the gameplay, and the gameplay doesn't benefit from the story. It could have been a comic and little of the experience is lost.

I want to say where I read that even reference Jim Sterling, but I can't find it anywhere.

I was super into Gone Home when I thought it was a horror game, but once I caught that whiff of where it was actually going I stopped playing and never went back.

And re: reeeing about Putin and Russia's anti-gay 'cruelty', please tell me someone pointed Jim towards the articles about Ukraine forcing troons to turn around at the border and go back and fight like the men they are.
