Yeah pretty much my thoughts. Currently have no reason to think the guy who lies as often as he breathes and over exaggerates sinus infections into life threatening situations is suddenly being up front and honest about this. Not trying to put a damper on the fun just personally not a big arm chair diagnosis guy.
Well if you want to go even further back to see his early lies about his health condition, he mentioned in one of the few public gaming convention panels he want to and basically said the practitioner or whatever recommended he would be required to get life saving back surgery on his herniated disc in order for him to walk properly again and not end up a cripple on a wheelchair (lol) for the rest of his life.
This was a hot talking point for sometime with him and his audience, but if you notice that looking back on this issue, it really isn't brought up much again by Phil in regards to what specifically happened to his back injury and how he got it sorted out (of course he pulled out some reasoning out of his ass that it was actually the Seattle air that totally healed his back, he's repeated this multiple times in the past, but that's an obvious lie because how the fuck is that realistically possible?).
So if he was being genuine about his back issue in the first place, then why did he need to feel to run with some sort of dumb lie? The truth with Phil like a lot of shit he's said and done is that he has completely overexaggerated a non issue (totally not a life threatening back injury) since he jumped to some random conclusion that through self diagnosis his back was totally fucked up, because not even his doctor was convinced he had a serious injury after the third doctors appointment, then they begrudgingly allowed him to get an MRI. There is no way a severe back injury is able to heal up all on his own, now of course I'm not a medical expert but Phil sure isn't, it's very hard to make sense of what and how his injury even happened in the first place because he can't keep a single story straight (another reason as to why he always lies about personal shit like this, he's fishing for the sympathy card).
At first the story he ran with was that his back got fucked up in a car wreck with his first car when it was snowing heavily, and that's how it happened the first time he talked about it, but then only a few months ago in November (and just in a past video I dug up that has a stream clip from 2016) he apparently got it during a football injury, as far as I know he has literally never mentioned this again except this recent mention in November last year, the only other excuse I've heard him throw around after a bit of digging is that he woke up one day and apparently his lower back was just in excruciating pain! (after recent events doesn't that sound very familiar regarding his back and arm?)
I could potentially even find more clips of him retconning his own course of history, but you get the point, It's impossible to take Phil's word for anything seriously when you have mountains of video evidence showcasing Phil saying/doing one thing and contradicting another thing he's said sometimes within a matter of weeks.
It's stuff like this that makes it incredibly hard for even some of his most attached wheelchairs to feel sorry for him in any capacity, not just because many don't harbour feelings towards him but also because they don't know what to believe at this point, they know he shit talks, over exaggerates and retcons entire past statements and shifting around half truths to push a narrative, but how much more bloated story jargon can someone take? His long time viewers as he puts it must be a special kind of retarded to tolerate the amount of bullshit stories he's told over the years and make sense of any of it.
