You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

Can we focus our energy and collectively work to stop there being any more youtube videos made where it's a "Clean With Me!" but it's a brand new spotless house that I doubt anyone has ever lived in, much less made a mess in?

I was looking for some spring cleaning motivation since it's been spring for 2 whole days now and yet I keep putting off doing any extra work. I look on youtube and lo! There are so many videos! ...of people saying look at my eleventy million square foot home that doesn't even have fingerprints on the fridge door!
Watch me go through the motions of cleaning already clean things using the most expensive products available!
Do the dishes with me! and by that I mean watch me load my dishwasher while royalty free music plays!

See? These videos have caused me to sit here ranting about them instead of cleaning. That was totally the fault of the videos. Not my own procrastination. Nope.

Something that, admittedly is quite petty of me, that gets under my skin is when people seem to be purposefully misspelling you name. Like in a Teams chat or email where they are looking right at your name, and still manage to fuck it up. It's a small thing, but it just pisses me off.

calling someone "the chris chan of ___" or really just comparing people to chris chan in general especially when theres little to no actual parallels between the two. just really gets on my nerves for some reason.
You know, when you think about it, Chris-chan really is the Dark Souls of lolcows.

It's not something I come across nearly as much anymore, but I hate how so many people will compare anything and everything with Dark Souls. FromSoft did not invent timed blocking and attacking, challenging gameplay, easter egg style content, multiple endings or pretty much anything else in those games. I love Dark Souls too, just please stop this shit.

A relative just texted me on social media, being all cutse-y and stuff (I think we've last talked properly over 10 years ago). I almost thought someone in the family died or that she has cancer or whatever when I first saw her message pop up...

Guess what? Yeah, she just wants to ask me if I'm either interested in making money quick (totally serious, I swear) or buying something to make my life better.

Holy mother of shit, I fucking despise MLMs and people that fall for it so much.

Well, if they mean it like comparing a pound of this to a pound of that, then yeah that's fucking retarded as the same morons who can't answer the pound of feathers vs pound of stone question correctly.

Buuuuut..... Muscle does weigh more than fat. By a lot. It's why fat floats and muscle sinks after all, like wood vs stone. One square inch of muscle tissue weighs more than one square inch of fat the same way one square inch of stone weighs way more than one square inch of wood. It's why the BMI scale isn't perfect, because if two people were the same weight and height, but one was muscular and the other wasn't, the one who's not muscular would have to be tubby and would take up more physical space. So if you took two people of identical height and identical major body measurements, the muscular person would weigh a lot more than the flabby one. It's all about comparing different weights for the same volume to determine density in this case.
Weight has nothing to do with buoyancy. Buoyancy is linked to density.

Redwood trees float. They weigh a shit ton. In fact, nearly all wood floats.

Weight has everything to do with buoyancy because density is a substance's/object's weight-to-volume ratio. That's what I was explaining and wrapped up in the last sentence of that post.

Oh shit you too? I had an old co-worker text me out of the blue a few months back asking how life has been and all that, totally normal catching up stuff. And then came the "so I have an opportunity..."

Blocked that binch so fast it wasn't even funny. Well it was funny to me.

It's happening more recently. People are hurting for cash.

Pity them. most of them don't know they are getting into literal cults. Same with the crypto and NFT scams being a pipeline to things like Nexium.

But there's always a minority who KNOW they are part of a ponzi and they still trying to get all their loved ones in it so they can pull out before everything crashes. I knew a guy like that, in the early 00s he got his family and a bunch of friends into Herbalife and got out, he made money on commissions by fucking over people who trusted him, fucking scumbag.

I've been redpilled since i was a child against those "be your own boss, make money easy" scams, (i had extended family who ran them. they are huge pieces of shit ), but i remember one time being really hurt after i was invited to a gathering by some people i made the first week of uni, i though i found some friends that actually liked me , i was super nervous about starting uni and not know anyone, and it turned out they were all in a MLM scheme and the gathering was just a pitch for a scam they wanted to sell me on, the second i realized it i felt so fucking bad, people are fucking scum, for the same level of energy they used trying to manipulate me and gaslight me they could have gotten an honest job and made more money, i told them they were pieces of shit inmediatly but months later i was still getting random calls by shills becuase they put my number on a list.

People who recently got into video games don't realize that Dark Souls is how most games used to be.

When people lie about whether or not they like something just because of what it's associated with.

On more than one occasion, I've played music from various video games, movies, TV shows, etc that other people heard and said they absolutely loooooved as soon as I lied and told them it was from Harry Potter or whatever they were obsessed with, because they showed interest in the track. Then I reveal that the music is actually from some game series I know they hate, and they start sputtering lies about how the music is actually garbage. People who change their answer and say that a song is awful just squarely on the basis of it being from a vidya, movie or TV show OST is some arrogant, ignorant snobbery that doesn't make them look as cultured and sophisticated as they think it does. Yeah, you go enjoy yourself getting huffy and feeling superior because you choose to miss out on Akira Yamaoka's best works from Silent Hill.

I've also done this vice-versa, lying that a track is from something they hate, they say "oh that's why it's so bad" before I reveal that it's actually from this thing they're obsessed with. "Oh wait, well, now that I actually got a chance to listen more..."

Jesus tapdancing Christ, just admit that not every little tidbit of things you like are teardrops from God and that even some things you don't like have a few gems tucked in them. Fucking fanboyism, consoomerism and snobbery.

I almost got roped into one. Thankfully they never called me back after the first interview.

There's a documentary on them called The Slave Circle:

On my first playtrough of Dark Souls i kept thinking how much it reminded me of Zelda actually, i thought it as a good thing.

I think the mainstream reception of From games became a massive circlejerk, and the games are overated, it gets tiring but still find it difficult to be to upset about it since everything else going on in gaming is so garbage. I am pretty sure Elden Ring is not a 100/10 like is hyped to be but it seems to make mediocre western devs really mad which is great.

thanks, i am gonna check it out. The name already seems appropiate for this type of thing.

To play devil’s advocate, the algorithm on some sites will censor content/comments that contain what they consider to be inappropriate language, and that’s an effective way to get around it. For example, I’ve found that YouTube comments tend to get more traction with an “accidental” typo on strong language.

But I’ve also seen one YouTuber censor the word “Satan” throughout his entire video to appease the algorithm, while also putting the uncensored word in the actual video title. It looks completely ridiculous when done poorly.
It's such a shame that normie media is trying to appease advertisers on the internet of all places thinking they can suppress cussing. I don't like cussing myself but this is just tyranny.
Speaking of not liking cursing, I hate it when people swear needlessly in every sentence, especially if it's not a rant.

lumps of flesh in clothes two sizes to small.
Speaking of British lumps of flesh in tight clothing, there's this woman at my social club that has the most horrible outfits possible! One time, she showed up in a leathery pair of trousers and had a short shirt on so her belly was exposed and damn, how did she fit in? It's like her belly's trying to escape! Her previous outfits didn't look bad nor could I tell she was chubby. I was so disgusted when I first saw that outfit and she wore a similar look some time later and I hate to see what the summer wardrobe will bring.

Today, she wore a type of clothing I really hate in general. It's those modern jumpsuits/one piece and hers had a pattern with naked women on it. Why is she such a fashion disaster?

People who have nice things and don't respect or treat them properly. Kid down the street was gifted a very clean 90s honda civic si (something I would've wanted as a teenager) for his 18th birthday. Not even 6 months later he's completely trashed it. Like I get that things eventually get used up and wear down but that's no excuse to be wasteful and purposely break something or drive it into the ground.
