They have to hold it though. At this point Zelensky is riding this tiger as much as Putin. Ukraine has won the battle for Kiev and is on the cusp of winning the Battle of Kharkiv too. The south and east is going poorly, but zelensky can't agree to end the war right now. Not after two major victories in the North.
Really? The Russians have retreated from Kiev?

Ya the best radio you can get in the $25 price point. :story:
They are trash. No filtering so spurs all over. Front end as wide as a barn door so desense/overload is a big problem.
If I was going to ship out and needed a good analog radio with FPP I would at the very minimum spring for the Taliban's favorite: ICOM

The Chechen's are also using civ radios but at least they are using something decent. Motorola TRBO radios which gives them reliability and AES265 encryption. Plus the normal modern DMR shit like being able to kill lost radios, text messages, emergency button, etc
They're not quite so useless. That said I would lock out the TX button unless you want to be a targeting beacon. Ideally what you would want is a decent configuration with CHIRP to do all the things regulatory bodies really wish you wouldn't. You can adjust some things that aren't even mentioned in official documentation. For my functional stuff I've got several presets for local weather, marine radio, and several unlicensed bands, and then also a few dozen channels I can program on the fly.

Really if you were trying to do something effective or transmit without dying you'd be going with some SDR hardware to do useful things. Encryption is not something to crack but the implementation has some very unique vulnerabilities to jamming or even positive-feedback loop attacks. I really should study my guides more dutifully. I know the theory in general but am far to ignorant on details.

Holy shit imagine being such a culturally significant figure in history that major nations will name wiping your ideology out as a casus belli nearly a century after blowing your brains out. Does anybody really take le spooky nazi menace seriously despite it having 0% open representation on the international stage?
Well, the USSR didn't partake in WWI due to Bolsheviks and Co., so the German invasion and subsequent events are referred to as The Great Patriotic War. Nazi symbolism and larping are like a matador waving a red flag in front of a bull; guaranteed response, and not the good kind.

Really? The Russians have retreated from Kiev?
Yeah, they've pulled back to the North and have dug in south of the Belarus border after losing the Battle of Irpin pretty decisevly. Ukraine took back the other threatened suburban towns largely unopposed. It what led to the claims they had Russian troops surrounded, as Russian resistance literally melted away. They had pulled out during the night to the North and Ukraine essentially encircled empty towns.

Russia has to consolidate its gains in the South, and they will have to do so against an inevitable Ukrainian counter offensive. One that has already started around Kherson. There is also the issue of the Ukrainian forces that have been placed in Odessa. If the Russian assault on that city does not go foreword, as seems likely at this point, then those forces are free to head east and attack the Kherson line from its left flank. Mariople also continues to be a festering sore in this theater sucking up huge numbers of Russian troops.

Russia may yet still gain these areas, but Ukraine is going to make a play for taking them back in the coming days and weeks.
Hold it against what? Ukraine didn't even actually control Donetsk and Lugansk before Russia invaded. Granted, Russia was totally not helping keep that pot stirred, the point is Ukraine hasn't really controlled them for awhile as is. I don't think Russia will have much issue holding it.
The rest is just you being a field marshal, we'll see how things go.

I recommend watching that chieftain video if you haven't yet, he touches on the skewed perspective we have with all of this. That is to say we don't really know specifics of how things are going, only what we're told.

I get how you made this mistake but it's funny

Вы поняли идею?
Негр, мне все равно за ты или за твою гамасексуал идеи.

Sounds like even more evidence of the parallels between slavs and Mexicans.
1: Short
2: Take peoples jobs
3: One gender randomly morphs from looking ok to looking busted as fuck around the age of 25
4: Women are fucking insane
5: Products of lots of rape
The only differences are that Mexican food is good and the gender that becomes busted super quick is swapped.
Speaking from familial experience or did one of those icky poo mexicans steal your dad's job too?

Are we talking about all of Donbass and South Ukraine or just the Donetsk PR? Because those are definitely two different things.

Man Poland is still really salty about ww2. Germany better pray that they don't ever slip like this, because I have a feeling Poland would demand even harsher punishment for them.
Tbh with you Polish general public is blaming Germany for this war anyway. Poland still is salty about the ribbentrop molotov pact and stil sees Germany as a Russian main ally in the EU.

So yeah if Poland somehow could directly punish Germany as well they totally would go for it.

I was talking exclusively about Donetsk, Lugansk, and Crimea.
I was talking about everything Russia has taken in the last 4 weeks and explicitly not including anything they took in 2014. Though that meat could come back to the menu if Russias entire front line collapses. Don't see that happening any time soon though.

I was initially skeptical of the sheer magnitude of reported Russian casualties but if their positions are starting to collapse, that tells me they're running out of meat to feed the grinder.

On one hand, I'm glad the Ukrainians are starting to make progress defending their homes. On the other, I'm sad because this is shaping up to be a very long war :(

That is both surprising and not so surprising. As generally most would blame a mix between Russia, Ukarine and the USA, this is the first I heard someone blaming Germany.

And now to watch the seethe.
Internet Nazis like Martinezperspective are very pro-Ukraine lol. It makes sense if you look at a conflict and decide which side you’re on based on how white it is.
Said like a true German whose job of carrying pallets in the local plant was given to an old polish woman who does the job twice as good for two thirds of the pay lol

такда ты должен надеть окулиорки и выжу кде туй идешь, пидор
Eastern Europeans are the type of people who brag about doing menial labour for Germans. Thanks for proving my point!

I don't think Russia cares who recognizes it. Crimea is Russian's no matter what Ukraine says.
Lugansk and Donetsk have locals who are pro-Russian that have already shown their willingness to kill Ukrainians so I don't think Russia is worried about Ukrainian uprising in those regions. I am expecting that Russia will control those areas even if no one else updates their political maps.

That's my point though.

If they simply retain slightly more control of a now partially depopulated and economically fucked area than they did beforehand what have they won ?

With no other concessions it will continue to be a warzone and Ukraine will keep rearming.

Polish blame them as "you sponosored Russia for ages, your main polititans ended up in Russian gas/oil companies with high salary, we told you that Europe shouldn't relay on Russian resources so much blah blah".

The Russians apparently have had a narrative shift where their goal is now to secure the Russian speaking territories and that Kiev was just a distraction or feint to keep the Ukrainians busy. Of course that would be a rather expensive distraction. They have not pulled their forces away from Kiev either, so it seems they're still keeping the city on the table so far. Ukraine has also retaken territory, but not much, and doubtful anyone can say if it can make up for any territory they've lost today or the nearest days
People where speculating even in the 1st thread that the forces piled up there just doing nothing but fucking around in the villages was just a retard magnet. That may not have been the original plan but that seems to be what the plan turned in to. Ukraines need to defend Kiev at ALL costs so thats where their forces are going to be focused leaving the south spread thin.
Kiev isn't being taken with out turning it in to dust so the next best thing is to lockup the south. Nice wide land bridge and make sure the water keeps flowing to Crimea. Also the south is where the nazi's where so now they are removed Russia can bust out the GW Bush branded Mission Accomplished banner and claim great success to the people back home.
