There's really no hard and fast rule but anything you do that undercuts your claims of being traumatized and terrified and fearing for your safety from the "abuser" weakens your claims, not just legal but your credibility as a whole. I know this is where they'd usually fire something back about victims processing a trauma differently and sometimes doing things that don't seem to make sense, but seriously, it's not that there are some oddities here, it's that they don't remotely act like victims but like vicious, snake-like thugs taunting their "abuser" incessantly for years even when he remains silent for months at a time.
