Tribalfagging aside, I'm still wondering as well why would they merge NijiID with the main branch. I get it with KR, with how their management actually is in shambles. But why ID? Domestically they already have some following, perhaps even as strong or even larger with HoloID in some regards

Well I guess a better question would be what Nijisanji plan to do to offer them better support.

They're still being encouraged to stream in whatever language they want, so if the rationale is that they'll keep the ID fanbase and also be promoted harder in Asian territories, then the worst that can happen is that there's no tangible change.

The best case scenario is what we are seeing with Nari Yang of NijiKR (and Ha Yun, to a lesser extent). Take a wild guess at roughly when the Japanese fans took notice of her through a NijiJP event.

There was 236 days in between Gura's debut and the first cat shark stream (I'm not gonna bother calculating the days for all of them) and Irys debuted 260 days ago.

I haven't done the exact math either but Pekora's outfit reveal was in December 21 and the reveal of the other Gen3 outfits were in Octobre 20. So her second outfit was delayed for roughly 14 months and I really hope Irys she will be spared this fate.

Update: She's an Ollie.

It doesn't help that she started with a 'Pistol Only Challenge' but is struggling to find a pistol, and it also being stream-sniped to high hell.

She has already dampened expectations after her debut stream, she just likes the game.

It's nice insight into how applying and audition works. Half his half his speculation isn't exactly true since Hololive will hire a 2view if they pass their requirements. What probably got him rejected ultimately was not having the aspirations/ambitions to not just be an idol but someone who wants to be on stage and perform.

You don't really have to sacrifice your side job or anything either a lot of Holos are doing Vtubing while in college or while working another job too.

Another thing to really factor in is that he did this video before the Niji application dates ended. We still don't know if they've been interviewing or watching people's submissions as of yet. Might backfire in his face if he gets an email afterward.

Curious insight, but he certainly hasn't got the engaging personality or energy you expect from a Vtube persona.

It's a bit funny to see a situation in which KR is a good example, lol. I think KR will benefit more from the merge due to KR livers being more willing to speak Japanese (and having better Japanese on average, though some of the IDs are quite good at JP) and due to them probably being more open to just being a part of Nijisanji general. The ones who haven't graduated are at least willing to give it a shot.

I worry a bit for ID because while I do like the branch, they can come off as a bit clique-ish at times. They're very close with each other and with some other Indonesian vtubers, but many of them don't seem very interested in making closer connections with JP or EN. One can see how Mika really inclined due to her closeness with EN. There are other members who are as good or better at English than Mika, but they're just not interested in that. Of course it's ultimately up to the individual member who they want to interact with and how often, but I can't help but feel like most of ID post-merger will just stick together as usual and not reach many new fans.

Two more Ina ER streams, she really has been sucked in. Her and IRyS are doing really well in it though.

A Myth collab on April Fool's Day too, that should be fun.

It's pretty inexcusable how long IRyS has been waiting for an outfit change after having it formally announced. It's taken longer for her to get the outfit then Myth had to wait for their casual outfits.

I almost feel at this point a redesign is the only good excuse for how long it has been.

I don't know much about valorant, other than it is CS with a bunch of extra junk, but seems like Kobo has been playing pretty decently. Also her singing while playing has been cute and she is really good even off the cuff.

I missed the Zeta apex stream other than a few minutes I was able to jump on, but I'll have to catch up on it later. Even from the short amount of time I was on, there was tons of chat backseating, though I don't think she was really looking at it much so that is probably better for her anyway.

Hololive third dip into ID market and secures hyper qualified talents, while Niji pump and dump, leaving the game entirely and merge it into a pool 200 streamers. Something something in shambles.

Nijisanji cares more about the numbers of their talents rather than the numbers their talents pull up. It's always a hit or miss for them in my opinion. That's why only their top 20% are the only ones that are actually relevant.

There'd be some sperging, but I don't think it would be that bad. A lot of the HL talents regularly use "lol I'm dumb" humor. It wouldn't be a serious thing either; remember holobirds is basically a joke that grew from the "Subaru is a duck" joke.

I don't think it would be insulting to the others either. They're all highly talented and successful, most of them are multi-lingual and very skilled at music, games, and art. Some of them just stand out in intelligence, and I think the others recognize that and aren't threatened. When they call Botan "High-Specs Lion", they're not calling everyone else "low specs".

Anyway there's a 0% chance of this actually becoming a thing so might as well keep it as a fan category.

I'm not so sure. NijiJP have a huge Chinese/Non-Japanese Asian fanbase, who we know have less of an issue simping for English-speakers because basically every other Asian country is a million times more proficient at English than Japan is.

So ID, particularly the ones that speak Japanese, may very well find some momentum if they decide to become bridges between EN and JP. Oliver and Petra can't do everything, after all. ID/KR's biggest problem is that people aren't super aware that they even exist.

Relevant in the eyes of people who believe bigger numbers = better quality, mind. Deron isn't exactly one of Nijisanji's giants but she has at least alluded to the fact that she makes really good money. I'm not so sure. NijiJP have a huge Chinese/Non-Japanese Asian fanbase, who we know have less of an issue simping for English-speakers because basically every other Asian country is a million times more proficient at English than Japan is.

Slight correction: I can say from professional experience that one way to immediately tell the difference between mainland Chinese and Hongkongese/Taiwanese inhabitants is that the former don't know a lick of English apart from "Hello" and "Made in China".
