I realize that once it comes to surgery, you are fucked, but what is the point of no return for hormonal treatments? I am a biofag, not a medfag, so I do not know about many specific details of what medical or cosmetic procedures or treatments are available.

For instance, if an FTM stops taking HRT, will the "frog-voice" eventually go away, or is it permanent...is there some sort of surgical intervention that can be done to reduce the thickening of vocal chords caused by FTM HRT?

Haven't watched the video but if she took testosterone for two years then I guarantee she has permanent changes. If she claims she doesn't, either she wasn't taking a "max dose" or she's ashamed and lying. At the very least she has hair growth someplace (on her face/body) and an enlarged clitoris. These things are permanent. So is hair loss, for those who suffer from it as a result of abusing these drugs.
These things won't continue to progress once a woman stops taking testosterone but they absolutely will not reverse either. Source: Spent 20 years in one of the most liberal cities on earth, used to be into radical politics and watched this toxic garbage invade, and saw the damage done to friends

Anyway, she convinced the nurse that her prescription needed to be an extremely high dose. I think that’s the only reason she escaped unscathed: excess testosterone gets converted back to estrogen.

Most other detransitioners are not so lucky.

It wasn’t her vagina that necrotised but her uterus. She didn’t remove it and the change in hormones caused it to fuse with the cervix, only to create scar tissue that got infected.
Nowadays most FtM remove it ASAP and the problem is likely known, but it’s just a drop in the ocean of what T can cause.

It depends. And bear in mind we don’t really know long term because up to now the only cases have been sporadic and abusive. For men it’s mainly gynacomastia but that can be reversed to an extent with surgery. You’ll have an increase in strike and cardiovascular risk and probably cancer risk as well.
For women, the damage done by any kind of male steroid hormone is permanent. If you look up what happened to the Cold War soviet athletes who were (in general unknowingly) given steroid treatment they had lifelong issues. The masculinisation of the frame never resolves, the voice doesn’t go back, fertility issues, reproductive system atrophy. Cancer risk, cardiovascular risk. The athletes from the 80-90s had liver damage too.
The damage from blockers is even more extreme. Half your bone density is laid down in puberty. Giving a kid opposite sec hormones does NOT result in correct puberty of the opposite sex. Blockers drastically reduce adult bone density. They drop IQ by a whole standard deviation. They damage joints and prevent joints from forming properly. They fuck up the endocrine and general metabolic systems. The women given these drugs for the only female indication they’re approved for (precocious puberty) are experiencing spinal fractures and such things in their twenties. They’re awful drugs. If you search for Lupron and triptorelin on here you’ll find some posts with other science people and myself sperging on about them.

What is meant by "the masculinization of the frame never resolves?" Testosterone doesn't make their bones more like a man's, cessation of testosterone leads to loss of those steroid muscles, and fat distribution returns to fenale-patterned as estrogen levels readjust. HRT does permanent damage but nobody gets a new "frame."

Still looked fake and odd though. Just less cadaverous.

They said soemthing interesting on the episode I was on today, regarding the difference in cycles of hormone levels between women and men-
Estrogen is a very set cycle with predictable ups and downs of (significant) effects of the hormone (it’s made up of a few different flavours if you will) whereas men have much more unpredictable, up and down, day to day hour by hour, impacted by external forces vast spikes and dips in testosterone-
Very interesting.

It will of course have some bearing on the vastly different experiences people taking cross sex hormones will get.
