To make it more clear, you will only have to pay to watch the movie once and if I do send you a copy of the DVD I will be the one paying for the copy from the manufactuer of it which is a "print-on-demand" service which charges me about as much or less than Amazon Instant Video. Then I will be the one needing to receive the address to ship it to.
But people still have to pass your rather odd (also misusing of the ratings system) test on top of all that?

So uh...it sounds like you're going to be losing money on this endeavor if you count shipping.

We discussed her plan before. Considering her behavior when she feels slighted, I wouldn't be surprised if she doxxed those that were at one point worthy.
Pretty sure Amazon won't be too happy at such blatant scorewhoring though.
The prospect of people getting doxxed by her simply for requesting a copy of her DVD (and giving them her address) is kinda concerning..

Just read this on the IMDB for one of her 'movies"..I don't think you understand the whole point of auditioning @WogglebugLover ..It generally doesn't involve dragging someone into something they never knew about..
"Trivia
Richard Poshard provides the voice of the Wogglebug. Up until he had auditioned for the role via Cynthia Hanson's approaching him he had never even heard of the character before."

Not if I can help it. I'll just set the price for the Amazon Instant Video the same amount it will cost me to self-purchase a copy of the DVD from my manufactuer plus shipping, and maybe a little higher but not a lot.

To make it clear, I'm not giving out my address to anyone I shouldn't. What I'll do is request the addresses of those I'll be shipping DVDs to. Also the manufactuer of the DVDs is a self-publishing site that is legit.

Wogglebug, your distribution plans are terrifying and bizzare and customers who are interested are just going to go buy a Disney movie on Amazon instead of jump through hoops to see a random character they've never heard of

This may be only a temporary way of selling DVDs. I may decide to make the DVDs also publicly viewable by the time my fourth is released at least.

It just happened to be that he hadn't known about the character from before then. It surprised me because he was and still is the perfect voice for the character. I've never made him do anything he didn't want. If you read a lot of previous posts you'd find he enjoys his job of being the Wogglebug's voice actor and me and him get along splendidly.

Several things.
1) I wasn't talking about giving out your address, I was talking about you going crazy with the addresses of people who try to buy from you.
2) Why oh why are you planning four DVDs when you haven't even seen how the first is received yet?
3) You're still most likely going to make a huge loss.
4) Auditioning generally involves people applying for a role out of choice not getting railroaded to it. The term you're looking for is "up until he was selected for the..."
5) Any fellow farmers recognise a name/display pic that sticks out on this friends list?

I won't go crazy with any addresses. I assure you. And I'll only even request them after I've decided to send out copies of the DVDs.

And I am actually planning more than 4 altogether. I'm going to release at least as many as 4. And I don't care if a few people don't like the first or second or third or fourth movies, etc. I'll still put them out because I know there will be still a lot of people who will like them.

And I'm not especially in this for the profits anyway. And as I said, this way of selling will only temporary for until I feel the time is right to start publicly selling DVDs . And when I do release DVDs they won't cost a whole lot at Amazon, either.

And VoiceGuy did apply for the role out of choice. I just privately approached him for it after he was recommended to me by another.

Quantity =/= Quality.

It's just that I do not want anyone here to actually purchase a copy of my DVD and only to download the movie and post it on these forums for a movie night party to be shown to people of whom I'm still not completely trusting of. And the truth is if you were to do that and even more people came to watch the movie if it wasn't even removed at all, then more people would be watching it for free than paying for it anyway and I would end up not making any profits hardly at all anyway. I'd rather just sell the movie via Amazon Instant Video than any DVDs at all actually.

If a lot of you are really interested in seeing the movie for genuine reasons and want that movie night, then I would be willing to upload my movie to my website before or after its official release to Amazon Instant Video and have you view it in a private screening there for one night. But no more than that.

I guess you don't know about screencaps..

Oh yeah. I just don't have one of those programs. So I suppose I'll have to discard that suggestion then.

And you know of course what I've said about people being able to view them online for free would actually cause me to lose money more than my plan of selling them only on Amazon Instant Video, right?

Actually, promotion-wise, you might be better off chucking the first one up for free, seeing how well it's received, and using the audience from that as possible viewers/buyers for your next movies.. Just a thought from this side of sanity.

Sounds sensible. But except once again it would have to be an audience I could trust to at least not do the sort of thing I mentioned of. And I may have to scour around for a big enough audience for such for a while.

You're never going to find an audience without critics. Talk to some of the more movie-minded people on here, they'll probably have some suggestions somewhere up their many sleeves.

I just remembered I am a member of a few other forums where I could find my target preview audience for both critics and fans easier. As well as FindMyAudience.com, which is coming out of its Beta stage completely by February.

Oh dear gods..seriously. Don't do with your audience what you clearly appear to have done with your illustrators, animators and recording artists..it didn't work with them, it's not gonna work with an audience..

I'm not sure what you mean. But I think you must be exaggerating quite a bit on mistakes I've made in the past. All I know is I've changed illustrators, the design of certain avatars I had vendors make for me, and my scripts a bit also. But I think those were all just learning experiences that are now over and done with. I was certainly not ever taking advantage of anyone I ever worked with if that's what you mean.

Quite the opposite, I'm meaning you were being shanked right in the wallet. And I strongly suspect this site won't be as helpful as you think, especially if you're alienating the rest of the Oz fandom. Further, the FindMyAudience site is intended for books/blogs, not movies..
