Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Don’t forget the comic book

And the adaptation of the comic book as paid DLC for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Seeing that trailer reminds me of the sad state that we see star wars games in for 2022. The fucking lego skywalker saga game is gonna be the only one for like 10 years that is any good. Some would argue the recent EA game was decent. I beat it when it was new yet i can't remember a single characters name or motivation. Something about rebuilding the Jedi order i guess.

You know how unpopluar these trash heeps of comics are when the usual youtuber bottom feeders haven't complained about em and those will make a mountain out of any molehill.
George is way more based than people give him credit for. I can imagine this art giving the female specimens who run Kennedyfilm a heart attack.
Half of the aliens are racial stereotypes. Watto comes to mind. Slave owner, short, greedy, beady eyes, hook nose and a black hat.

Just curious how the hell do relative lunch budget filmmakers make Star Wars fan films that feel more like “Real Star Wars TM” then most of not 99% of the shit big budget Disney churns out?
Because they actually care about the product and are limited by said budget enough to contain whatever Dave-tier autism they might have?

Because limitations in money and technology definitely do a great job in limiting retarded ideas. Let me tell you.

That does make sense.

It’s kind of sad that Star Wars is basically a zombie at this point. Still moving and making its presence known but a dead empty shell of itself. Mando S2 finale filled me up with a bit too much hopium at the end and I thought that there would be a genuine slight chance the ST would be tossed away into another timeline.

Now however? Not a chance with the route they are taking. I’ll just stick with the PT and OT if they just happen to come on TV. No Furloni Wars, no Reeeyyyyyyy, no Soylo, no Rogue One.

I still haven’t seen the animated Clone Wars from 2002/2003. Is it worth a watch?

The entertainment industry itself is a zombie that will only die when even their fake and gay economy can't patch the gigantic scam they're throwing down our throats.
I still haven’t seen the animated Clone Wars from 2002/2003. Is it worth a watch?
Honestly, it's the best thing to watch out of the PT. That and Sith make a good duology and doesn't really fuck over your understanding IMO.

I still haven’t seen the animated Clone Wars from 2002/2003. Is it worth a watch?
Yes, not a lot of talking but just the dialoge is only regulated to the important stuff. Jedi having super force powers. Good action and Anakin has an engaging character arch that ties into Revenge of the Sith.
In some ways I prefer it to CGI clone wars.

Yesterday marks the 20th Anniversary of the seminal lightsaber combat game and sequel to Dark Forces II, RavenSoft's masterpiece that is Jedi Outcast:

What is considered by many to be the greatest and most emotional chapter in the escapades of smuggler-turned-Jedi Kyle Katarn, the game remains an enduring classic of LucasArts gargantuan library of games. Top notch level design, uncompromising challenge, and arguably the greatest mechanical realization of authentic lightsaber combat of any SW game ever made.

Now, much like its predecessor, Dark Forces II, the plot is a cheesy romp--very indicative of the New Republic era in which it is set. It's no small irony that, timeline-wise, this game is set between Darksaber and Planet of Twilight, because that's the kind of early 90's SW storytelling that Jedi Outcast embodies. Truce At Bakura had life-stealing lizardmen, the Jedi Academy books had Luke's Temple under attack by an ancient Sith Ghost, the Callista novels had a decades-dead Jedi Spirit trapped in a computer mainframe...and this game has an army of artificially created Sith Acolytes being bred from the font of Force Energy overflowing the Valley of the Jedi. So, in that sense, Outcast really fits in with the stories surrounding it. But I would add that out of all of the Kyle Katarn games, this one probably has the best emotional drive for the plot: a quest to avenge Jan Ors. Everyone, myself included, had grown attached to Kyle's plucky, lovable pilot waifu, and having her axed by the main antagonist created a really strong emotional drive to take down the main villain, Desann. I think the writers at RavenSoft made a smart move in making this the focal point of the story, as it brought out the best (and coolest) out of Kyle as a character.

Star Wars games have come a long way since this title, and have frankly eroded under the watch of the Mouse. But if you want to hearken back to the days where lightsaber combat was deep and nuanced, the setting and story felt authentic, and the protagonist was a Bearded GigaChad instead of some freckled redheaded autist in a rain poncho, pop this game in for some well-worn and enduring SW nostalgia.

Stop trying to make The High Republic happen, Disney.

STAR WARS Series Set During The High Republic Era Reportedly Begins Pre-Production Ahead Of June Start Date

Archive

Last month, we learned that a mysterious Star Wars project using the working title "Grammar Rodeo" is in the works at Lucasfilm. Now, Bespin Bulletin (via SFFGazette.com) is reporting that the Disney+ series will begin shooting in June through December, and it sounds like this is the show Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is attached to (Jon Favreau, meanwhile, will produce).

Previously described as "Stranger Things in Space," the site confirms that this show will be set during the High Republic era, and it's said pre-production has already begun in Culver City, California.

Sets are being built as we write this, and shooting will take place at the same Manhattan Beach Studios where The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi have been filmed. It's noted that this show is likely to be announced at Star Wars Celebration next month, though we might get some news on May The Fourth as well (we'd bet on this being saved for the former).

As for why the series is being referred to as "Grammar Rodeo," the site posits that it's a reference to the episode of The Simpsons where Bart and his friends trick their parents into letting them take a trip to the "National Grammar Rodeo." As a result, we're expecting this project to focus on a young cast of actors - probably Jedi Padawans - at a time that's yet to be explored in live-action.

Ahsoka is set to begin shooting next month, so there's lots in store for this Galaxy Far, Far Away over the next couple of years. Hopefully, some official details will be shared by Lucasfilm soon.

"IF WE BURN ENOUGH INVESTORS' MONEY, THEN WE CAN FORCE THESE DUMB DISGUSTING FUCKING MANCHILDREN INTO BUYING OUR PRODUCT" ~ LFL unironically

You know, the last guy I remember who tried to force a product no one liked like that in the entertainment "industry" was the weirdo who destroyed his fortune and went bankrupt over Baby Geniuses. No joke, the only reason we didn't get more of them was the dude funding them went completely broke.

Man I would do anything for a high quality upgrade of TIE Fighter. Make the engine able to output in HD, and take the MIDI music and make it higher quality. I know there is a mod working on this, but an official release based on more than the X-Wing Alliance Engine would be amazing

Disney published an excerpt (Archive) from the upcoming novel Shadow of the Sith which Screen Rant has wasted no time in shilling.

Star Wars: Luke & Anakin Skywalker Unite Against Sith Spirits On Exegol

Archive

Star Wars is finally providing the team-up that's been decades in the making as Anakin and Luke Skywalker work together against Sith spirits on the Sith redoubt of Exegol. Luke Skywalker always hero-worshiped his father, dedicating himself to becoming a Jedi, like his father before him. That was why he reacted with such horror in The Empire Strikes Back when he learned Anakin Skywalker had in fact become Darth Vader.

But even this only left Luke shaken for a while. By the time of Return of the Jedi, he had concluded even Darth Vader could be redeemed. He was proven correct, with Anakin fulfilling his destiny as the Chosen One and betraying Palpatine. Anakin's redemption was confirmed by the Force itself, with the final scenes of Return of the Jedi confirming he was at one with the Force as a Force Ghost. According to official tie-ins, Anakin's Force Ghost would visit Luke many times over the next decade, offering him guidance and counsel as he reestablished the Jedi Order.

Lucasfilm has published an excerpt from Adam Christopher's upcoming novel Shadow of the Sith, revealing Anakin was far more than just an adviser. The book is set shortly before the sequel trilogy, and in the excerpt, Luke is seeking out the Sith redoubt of Exegol - where he senses the power of the dark side is gathering. Luke heads to the ancient Jedi Temple of Tython, and when he meditates there, his spirit is transported to Exegol. Unfortunately, Exegol's defenses are strong; Luke is confronted by nine Sith spirits, and although he manages to match them, his own power is insufficient to defeat them. Fortunately, Luke gets an unexpected assist when Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost manifests alongside him. The full excerpt can be read on Lucasfilm's official Star Wars website.

Shadow of the Sith was already one of the most eagerly-anticipated Star Wars books of the year. It serves a crucial purpose, helping bridge the gulf between the original trilogy and the sequels. But the excerpt suggests there's far more to it than that; it seems to also be an exploration of the Skywalker legacy, with Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost operating openly against Palpatine and his forces. Star Wars: The Last Jedi confirmed Force Ghosts can interact with the physical world, but it's possible they are even more powerful on Exegol. The planet is a vergence in the Force where the veil between life and death is unusually thin, explaining why Palpatine could only be resurrected on Exegol in the first place.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker revealed Luke was aware the power of the dark side was growing, and even tried to find his way to Exegol. Adam Christopher's novel takes this one step further, however, revealing just how close Luke was to discovering Palpatine had returned; the Force even allowed him to set foot on the ashy surface of Exegol. No wonder Palpatine feared Luke Skywalker in particular and went to such drastic lengths to get him out of the way. He knew the greatest hero of Star Wars had the potential to ruin all his plans, especially if he worked with Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost.

So Disney has learned nothing from making bad movies every year, now they're making bad TV shows every year. Star Wars is not the MCU. It works the best when you give people small amounts of it, like a movie every 3 years and some books/video games to tide the fans over. But Disney decides to indulge in the fanbase's worst gluttonous consoomer impulses instead.

>writing this when TFA sets up that Anakin doesn't exist anymore and Kylo worships Darth Vader

Even though Luke never tells anyone about Exegol or Palpatine coming back, and it literally doesn't exist in TFA or TLJ. Then he runs away like a pussy.

You know, that thing the sequels were supposed to do?
and at this point, who gives a fuck? the trilogy ended 3 years ago. Most people don't care anymore. All these clowns gave TFA a pass after it refused to be a true sequel to the OT and revealed the sequels were going to suck, but didn't get the memo until TLJ shat on Luke.

fuck this shit

Took a break for HoiIV to see how the EaW modding community is doing.

The cuck crew over at TR recently put out a patch for FOTR. It's pretty lame, especially considering they took almost a year to complete and the actual mod everyone cares about will still not be updated in over a year... About the only interesting thing was I noticed some real saltiness in their discord to AWOTR, a different mod, and Corey always cucks taking a swipe at Zahn due to him portraying the Empire as less volatile than the Republic. The cucked Canuck argued that Zahn was wrong because the Rebellion happened that makes the Empire no less volatile than the Old or New Republics.

Far more interesting is the Rise of Caedeus. Put out by the story continues, it's interesting to see this unexplored book end to the real Star Wars universe. I felt especially conflicted as I was confronted with heavy emotions seeing the events and ships on screen. On one side, it was nice to finally get to remember when Star Wars was less shit.

I wonder how much of it will take place on Tatooine.

Hopefully none. Leave Tatooine alone Disney.

I dunno man. Given the number of people in this very thread consooming they might be right.

I like what I like. But I also enjoy watching and laughing at horrible shit. The worse the cringe the better.

Or it could be that the Endor portions come off as the least good part of Jedi when compared to the opening act, the great space battle around Endor, and when Luke confronts Vader and the Emperor. Act 2 is super blahh by comparison.

Though the people who completely hate Ewoks are still dumb because there's a fun charm in having Threepio becoming their god and they honestly weren't the worst part of the film. Savage midget monsters were fine. Only real cringe was the sheer dumbness of the Storm Trooper battle where they wreck, because that was George axe grinding against the filthy fucking republicans by trying to blend Nam with Tarzan. There's also Han and Leia's role in the film, where they stand outside a blast door for most of the time in this act.
Considering George originally intended the savages in the final battle to be big ass wookiees before switching to ewoks due to costume practicality issues, do you think the Nam parallels and final battle would've worked better with wookiees than with ewoks?

No shit it would, especially if they had some things like fucking blasters, bowcasters, and weren't purely a stone age society. I'd actually have had more suspension of disbelief if that happened.

Guerilla warfare still needs some form of industry to work best, so yeah.

The Ewoks would've been better served to be guides who find the weakspot in the super door of the shields or something rather than have a full battle where the Troopers get the battledroid treatment. Replace a decent bit of them in the big dumb "FUCK YOU GOVERNMENT FOR NAM" battle with Rebel soldiers who sneak on planet to help and have them support and keep a bit of the antics they get up to in it, and it'd have actually been fine IMO.

I'd really like to think that capture the flag, strafe jumping, the Sith improving upon the Force Choke by flip kicking the guy they were choking, and people collapsing to death for no discernable reason (bind the kill command to a key!) are all Star Wars canon. I enjoyed the multiplayer more than Quake 3.
