So I'm no Twitter algorithm expert so someone fill me in.

Obviously its not for his stunning insights so how does phil keep getting consistent if occasional tweets that go semiviral? Is he just in this weird place where theres a confluence of factors like having a certain amount of followers and boosters and making a ton of hot takes that causes the algorithm to favor him in people's feed? Do other Dlist celebrities tend to have as many 'viral tweets'?

As I understand it Phil was the first one with the Twitter scarlet letter to comment on the academy tweet, and he gave a ice hot normie take that most people agreed with, so he got a lot of likes.

But he got fucking clowned upon with almost all of the comments so there is that.

And to nobody, aside from Phils, surprise him going "viral" did not translate into more stream viewers or more money. You could clearly hear it the few time this came up during the streams the following day that Phil was slightly salty about this.

Just the other day I noticed that he was baiting guesses for his “next big idea” and thinking wow, I wonder if this motherfucker actually has zero idea what to do and wants his audience’s guesses to be ideas for him. I absolutely wouldn’t put it past him.

I mean he literally got the bubble blowing idea and the chair spinning idea from Kat (supposedly). The vest streak was an idea from a wheelchair. The Hat, The Jeans, The Glasses. All suggestions from people in the chat. Recently he got the idea to have thumbnails for his livestream.... from the chat. Everything down to the games he has on his schedule was decided by chat.

He has not had a single idea of his that affected the stream in a pahsitive way. So technically he does take suggestions. But only because when he does something on his own it doesn't get the (((engagement))) he's seeking. For example he chose to play Ghostwire Tokyo and isn't getting the views/support. He's playing Elden Ring the way he wants and NO ONE is enjoying it.

He fucking sucks. And i make the joke that his audience are his employees but if they were gone and he had a hundred Derichs left there would be no 'saving the channel'.

It's absolutely this. He has nothing. Just have people make guesses on what could be it because it's either another fuckin tiny overlay change like blue to orange, or is just going to have people put out ideas and pick one that actually sounds fitting.

He has shown us that Yes, it was a thing he already had and something incredibly small like a hat, cat, overlay, or a vest.
Shit, even the Birthday thing he was tryin to hype was yup, you guessed it, a marathon where he eats food.

No he doesn't he just wants any excuse for engagement. Trying to bait comments.
He reminds of guys that get ghosted by a women and send 20 texts trying to get a response.

You know what? I'm sperging. This is totally NATURAL and ORGANIC engagement.

It's also an old standby that he uses to try and milk some tips and other contributions from an audience that he's conditioned to not expect an answer or recognition, or at least to increase the likelihood of it, if they don't attach money to what they say. Same thing when someone tips or Superchats with a question or statement and he acts confused and won't respond in any meaningful way to try and bait follow-ups. It's always been really transparent and obvious when he does it.

Right? I like this kind of moralizing speculation of his after he's left and is no longer complicit by way of engaging in this alleged 'criminal' policy for years.

He doesn't follow them so it's not like he got their tweet. 3/4 of the accounts he follows are dead, promotional, or porn/wrestler retweeters, so he likely didn't see it from their feed. I wonder if he was on the Academy page waiting for them to post something.

I have been wondering about that myself.

I was a bit surprised that Phil watched the Oscars at all. He is not a movie buff and he 100% is not interested in the types of movies that gets Oscars.
And I can't think of another non gayming related thing going on that most normal people might want to talk about Phil has ever taken the time to watch so he could talk to his chat about it.

These subjects normally fall under "derailment" and will end up win BAN BAN BAN BAN if chat keeps bringing it up. Maybe Khet forced him to watch it?

I found a chrome extension that adds a "visit channel" option when you click on the 3 dots next to their chat message. So as long as they post a regular message, you should be able to visit their channel, rather than wait for their super chat to get scraped.

What's funny is that by so visibly getting disappointed by the result he didn't admit to expecting, he exposes himself as being fake, with that tweet. It was all about getting his viewership up, and if you're a newcomer discovering him that way, you're not going to tell anyone good things about this "DSP" fella, if you say anything at all. Especially when you look at his other tweets and notice immediately that they're far from the kind of sensible or comprehensible that his viral one was.

One of the way in which Phil is his own biggest detractor, is by making it really easy to see who and what he is without watching his whole gigantic vault of videos.

I think it's a glimpse into what kinds of interests Phil pretends not to have. We already know he's hiding his continued love of wrestling, because he's doing such a piss-poor job, it's not a stretch to speculate that there's more where that came from. Especially since we know he loves food, and he still recently started bitching about that coming up. Not out of sensitivity, it would seem, but that means there's may be more to motivate him into being mum about stuff, then just his pride and ego.

He's been setting the stage for it since quite a while ago, both directly by saying that he wants to do something like a current events/pahlitics talk only stream and also with his whole "I'm turning 40 soon" song and dance. He's been talking about how at the venerable old age of 40 he's losing his physical and mental faculties and vidya gaming is just too tough and stressful for him now.

I didn't think about that potential motivation for hiding his non-gacha and non-drinking activities, because he brazenly stays up until early morning on Twitter, so why bother lying about what else he does, in order to conceal anything? He's already failing to, in a way that's worse for him than watching a TV program after his evening stream is over. Then I realized he's Phil, and his brain doesn't make sense, so maybe.

Seriously, I would love nothing more than for him to be so stupid as to go full podcaster, because he has no clue what that means for him. Take away the distraction, take away his ability to get all "I'm trying to play a game here, chat, you're misbehaving, knock it the fuck off!", and take on the task of carrying the whole stream himself when talking about FOOD is now verboten, and he may as well be back in high school wearing a "Kick me" sign on his hairy back.

It was trending on Twitter in multiple ways, so more likely is he tapped on a headline and the academy's response was one of the first things he saw. He lucked into being an early responder and having the verification checkmark probably makes his reply show up earlier. Likes push his reply up more and it snowballs from there.

The best person to touch the DSP sphere is probably Mr Snowflake, although I doubt he has the reach you guys would want. He's also absolutely aware of who DSP is, he's even got DSP in his banner so he may be planning on making a video in the future. I was posting earlier today over in the Nikacado Avocado thread about his video on Nik, but he's also made numerous episodes on the Delray Misfits (they're excellent imo) and Amberlynn Reid.

Sunnyv2 has a much larger audience and has made a video on DSP in the past, but it doesn't really fit his content style. I doubt CoffeeZilla would ever cover the guy, it seems kinda below him but maybe Mutahar would be open to it.
