I like the meme of pretending Sony means "Sony as a whole" rather than Sony Interactive (meaning Playstation solely) divisions and branches have their budgets and how much they are willing to spend on projects, you're not going to export all of the company's funds to one thing. this isn't about good business sense, he just wants to exploit "free games" for personal gain as usual. If anything offering new games on Xbox's gamepass to me seems like a desperate attempt at damage control cause these weren't selling until the ps5 couldn't be sold.

So many gems in the old man shoe story to unpack.

Couple of highlights for me. Phil skipped any inconvenience cause the manager came over and helped him personally while simultaneously experiencing the old man's entire dilemma and watching the family leave the store. No doubt Phil was stuck behind those people for a good while until the line backed up and a manager came.

Love that as always, true to form. The man constantly worried about being able to pay his mortgage. Still takes every chance to smuggly assume people, children in this scenario, must be poor cause they are way too excited about new shoes. Too excited for Phil's comfort at least. Our bad Phil not every one comes from super humble upbringings like you you spoiled fucking brat literally handled into adulthood and past it.

These were some expensive sneakers, 50 or 60 dollars, socks even! Damn Phil, for the sort of trendy bullshit most kids just mustttt have run way higher than at. You so out of touch with what having genuine parents are but having kids in general. But fuck the nuisances of cliche grandparent shit like buying their grandkids shoes for the spring/summer. You've spend thousands of dollars on jpegs you smug fuck. God forbid someone spends a couple hundred dollars on kids fucking shoes, when they should just buy 3 of the latest consoles and waste a quarter of a million on 2 houses, doordash, mobile games and booooooze.

..Phil starts the story with the manager letting him bypass all that, yet by the end he's experienced every embarrassing bit of it, andddd the cherry on top he got to see the old man and co leave empty handed, and the old man and fam got to see Phil leave with some new horseshoes.. oh and bonus he got to add some knowledge on credit card transactions.
