Mini sperg rant time but to me the granddad getting his card declined story really shows what an irredeemable piece of shit Phil is.

Let's go over a few bullet points of Phil's story and things he made sure to point out:

- He noticed the guy was easily confused by technology
- He noticed the guy didn't have a smartphone to get SMS messages from his bank
- The "first thing" he thought then and there was that the guy's account may have been frozen because he was on vacation
- There was the mom, her dad, and the four kids. Complete lack of mention of a father in the picture (potentially working but sounds like this was a planned vacation so likely single mom)

So, Phil's out shopping so his wife can be fit for horseshoes and sees this go down. He sees the kids are crushed and disappointed and the grandfather is obviously upset, flustered, and confused.

I'm not going to be that guy and say, "Oh Phil should've paid for the shoes!" but I will point out just how much of a fucking asshole Phil is, and by extension, his dumb whore wife.

If Phil sees an elderly man that is confused by the situation and, by his own admission, very reasonably assumes that the man's card may be frozen, WHY NOT TELL HIM? Why is Phil fucking standing there like an asshole and not saying anything? Why is Kat? You have a smartphone, right Phil? Help the guy look up the number he needs to call to resolve the situation. Take ten, maybe fifteen minutes out of your day and be an absolute fucking hero to these kids. Show some fucking kindness and selflessness. Phil knew that the most likely reason for the card declining was a frozen account and said nothing.

Now people may say "Oh but it's not Phil's business" but it sure as fuck was his business to share that story with his audience, wasn't it? He had no problem using someone else's bad day, a day that he could've saved, as filler content for his dent-head podcast. Even if Phil was legit super busy and just couldn't sit there with the guy and help him get the contact numbers he needed, the VERY least he could've done was inform the cashiers of the potential reason so that the store could potentially help the guy. But no, dumb selfish cunt Phil has to talk about how "bad he felt" that the kids might be "forced to have a McDonald's dinner" instead of the nice dinner their granddad promised, all while hiding his fucking smirk on camera that someone else had a shitty day. I've gone back and watched the video, and you can see that Phil is trying to put on a face of "feeling bad" for this family when the other 90% of the story he's smiling.

What a fucking asshole.

I'm absolutely certain that, by the time he retells this a few times, he will have changed it so he does step in and help.

Phil the Hero.

I'll throw on my tinfoil hat and add some extra speculation. I agree that Phil got jealous because, well, he's Phil. We've seen plenty of salty twitter posts about how fake other people are because they're getting early reviews/sponsorships and he isn't. Not to mention him getting jealous of other, way more popular streamers who either started around the same time/after him. Maybe he was extra sensitive because he was in a store he didn't want to be in/wasn't getting anything for himself, so the sight of happy children made him want to LARP as the Grinch.

I think most of the story was made up, and Phil just wanted to revise history so the family was sad and miserable. But I think he had a rare moment of clarity during the story and realized that, if he gleefully celebrated a story where the kids/elderly were sad, he'd be seen as a bad guy. He couldn't give them a happy ending though, because he's too petty for that. So instead, the story just trailed off and didn't really have any point to it. I think originally, he wanted to gloat about it and make it into a mini BK sandwich story but had no way of sticking the landing so we just got this rather bizarre story.
Yeah I think thats a good take. The story did kind of just peter out without any real point. Which may just be gin brain in action, but he did start out describing the grandfather like he was the antagonist of the story.

What a fucking asshole.

A piece of shit and schadenfreude go together like brat and wurst.

Somehow, I don't think they'd end up resorting to extorting fans for money. It's not like they'd stop a match to beg for donations.
Guys, it's been 5 minutes since the match started and we're not even close to our $30000 match goal. Please consider tipping so you can choose the finisher or otherwise the match will continue indefinitely. I'd really love to do the Canadian Destroyer on my opponent and end the match with a pin but I can't do that if you don't support. By the way I'm not complaining, I'm just sayin'. I really need the support.

He promised yesterday he would reveal the new member goal on April 1st because that was the 'logical time' to do it.
Now today it has been downgraded to a 'maybe' and the can is getting kicked down the road. Phil has to 'prepare things' and 'think about it'.
And he's making a big deal that he didn't realize it would be April Fool's Day, so this has caused some reluctance.

He's somehow made his attempt to hype this up sleazy and confusing.
You have a new goal. You announce it on the first. That's your hype. Anything else is milking it and turning it into a fiasco that people will shit on.

He's going to offer multiplayer with his pigs only to claim it was a joke once the time comes to deliver.

It's unironically what his findom pigs want.

"Everyone says first party nintendo games are kiddie games"

WOW is it late 90's early 00's again? Did he just finish posting on GAF (pre-Neogaf) and starting shit with people on Gamefaqs? Better hurry up and curse on a shitty XBL mic before mommy comes home and makes you do your homework.

He's just being ahnest here.

I would argue thus-ly!
