lol no it isn't, certainly not from the perspective of the US. We further limited transactions with a few banks that and added a few individuals to our blacklists.

Our hands are tied for the time being on account of Europe's exposure to third party sanctions.

So the apocalyptic sanctions we heard about are just a nothingburger, I see. Yeah, it's unsurprising that this hasn't brought Putin to the negotiating table.

With such weak actions from the west I would be surprised if China doesn't invade Taiwan this decade.

The Brits are thinking long term here and saying the quiet part out loud. As things stands, Russia had the initiative this month because they got to choose when the war started. Now that they have failed to secure most of their pre war objectives, it would be foolish to insist Ukraine accept some sort of Russian offered peace deal at this juncture

The simple truth is Ukraine has no reason to end the war right now. Not when they are in a position to go on the offensive and their military is stronger now then it was at the start of this. Why should Ukraine accept peace if it means ceding a quarter of its territory along with Kherson and Mariople?

No, this war is going to continue. Russia is going to have to try and hold onto its gains first before peace is actually considered.

So, this war is going to be one of attrition but no one is talking about the potential 10 million Ukrainian refugees going to Europe and this means that this refugee crisis is much worse than that experienced by Europe in the 2010s. I would bet 50-60 % won't return to Ukraine and 50.000-100.000 Ukrainians will be killed in how long this war lasts.

Ukraine won't recover from this population collapse for a very, very long time.

Ukraine has a lower birth rate than Japan, and simultaneously experiences massive amounts of emigration. It was getting depopulated before the war even began. Its fate is pretty much sealed now.

Both sides should just come to an agreement at this point, Russia isn't going to capture Odessa or Kharkiv and definitely not Kiev, Ukraine isn't going to save or recapture Mariupol. Russia came in expecting a curb stomp (they sent fucking riot police into fucking Kiev at the start of this thing) and definitely didn't expect a war that is going to be dragged on for months, nobody did. Ukraine should get out while the getting is good, a month ago I said they should sign a peace treaty while they have all leverage of all the major cities besides Kherson being in their control, and somehow technically that's still true even if Mariupol will almost certainly fall within the next 7 days.

Christ. Are you even reading what I am saying? The radiation in the red forest is harmless at one meter, and can be blocked by simple protection such as a cloth mask and full body clothing, followed by rigorous decontamination cleaning after being in the area. Do that and you are fine.

The radiation it was detecting was coming from beneath almost 30 years worth of plant build up. Imagine if instead of just holding the Geiger counter at the surface, she decided to dig down another 6 feet and breath in the dust as she went.

i have my doubts about that actualyl happening though. russians aren't illiterate niggers, they know enough about how radiation works to not send their soldiers into nightmare torture death scenarios like this. chernobyl was just 40 years ago, the russians themselves did almost all the cleanup work around the place, they have more than enough knowledge and experience with the situation, so until we get a solid source i won't believe they actually blundered dozens of soldiers lives away like that.
