I'm not sure where you are getting laughing stock from when they mauled the first Chechens inbound and held a city for over a month along with one regiment of the natty guard, continued to sneak enemy positions behind their own encirclement and refused to surrender after (I believe) 4 different rounds of 24/7 shelling followed by an offer to surrender.
The Russian MOD still only claims 109 confirmed Azov kills, which is surprisingly conservative for some of their claims so far.

We will never see the Russian and Chechen body count from Mariupol, we simply know it was an absolute meatgrinder for both sides. What likely occured here is that Azov ran out of antitank munitions and eventually succumbed to slow, grinding combined arms streetsweeping that Russia has used to put down revolts since the USSR.
Azov isint down and out either, as only a a segment of the more fanatical glowie atomwaffen types stayed to fight it out until the end, a sizeable chunk of the battalion lives on.


Hats off to the russian pilots who flew several KM with a knocked out tail, must have taken some real skill unless they were simply out of control on a shallow vector until they finally hit dirt.

Radiation comes from radioactive sources, So radiation "sticks" as the source sticks to an object. You are right that the equipment used in the clean up is hot in the sense that you don't want to be around it. However as Sexual Chocolate has repeatedly pointed out that the degree to which it is hot has always been decreasing rapidly. So even the vehicle graveyard and the hospital basement where all the first responders clothes were dumped will still be areas you would measure radioactivity in micro Sv.

In fact I saw a video where some dude put a geiger counter directly next to one of the boots and it gave a reading of 250 micro Sv/hr. This is a shit load and is obviously dangerous, if you were to sleep with this in your bed it would cut your life expectancy in half. It will not however, be a cause of ARS. Some died, particularly the little girl who spread the pretty blue stuff on her body and then ate a sandwich with her hands coated in the stuff. Her mother, who became progressively contaminated every time by handling her as she cared for her when she became sick, also died. Everyone who was invited to the home to view the stuff and walked around it became mildly ill but survived. The family and employees of the man that stole the device and opened it up died from radiation related illness (ie the aforementioned mother, daughter and two employees) but the man who opened the capsule did not, and died from acute alcoholism several years later.

Their Parliament so far is untouched by war, as far as I am aware, so they clearly have running government infrastructure to keep things going. This would literally be a mirror of the Yugoslav Wars, so they won't do it (so far) as it just serves to inspire morale and as a very symbolic image in the making, official reports so far indicate that Western Intelligence is cooperating with Ukraine directly and sending them untraceable reports within the hour, having them run the war from Poland isn't that far fetched but it fucks over a key element, plausible deniability. They are probably using bunkers and other secure locations as their HQ's, however, very viable with modern telecommunications infrastructure!

One of the undeniable realities of this war is how much of a golden opportunity it has been for Intelligence Agencies. They are getting field information about Russian Ops by the truckload, practical field testing of many weapons systems on their arsenal and seeing their military doctrines live on a large scale. The recent attack on Belgorod itself would be even more of an insane gamble without intel backing. Fuck, even the Chinese are watching this carefully, observing the reactions of both the West and Russia live, and they probably know that an assault on Taiwan would be even more intense as there would be direct efforts of the U.S. and allies against them!

The biggest take away from this war is Light Infantry is back in style. The amount of damage a bunch of vatniks hauling a few missile launchers around are able to do is off the charts. Everything from blowing up tanks to shooting down fighter aircraft. Combine that with squad deployable drones as well. Yikes.

I disagree. Imo China peaked 8ish years ago. They had the most influence when they had the good will of investors who were high on their cooked books. China did not develop nearly as much as Japan has and is on the precipe of a demographic catastrophe.

In terms of war, their fleet is underdeveloped and more importantly made in China. Even if they could successfully launch and sustain a maritime invasion, they don’t have enough force projection to protect their merchant fleet from allied subs. They depend on Australian coal and American food. More importantly, the West buys most of their crap. This isn’t Mao’s China in which they could suffer catastrophic casualties without blinking. Now each son killed is the end of several families and their retirement.

Funny enough I don’t think Taiwan/the US is their greatest threat but rather the Indians. Many Indian nationalists have been chomping at the bit. More importantly India is a younger country that’s still growing. They can field more soldiers and their economy will eclipse China’s and America’s.
