Well going by what he said during last Kirby stream. Phil is never one to plan ahead and think "where am I going to be in 2-5-10 years", and he is much happier for it.

This really ties into Phil total lack of any ability to think in abstracts, if something does not have an immediate payoff he isn't interested/have the patience to wait.

Phil is the type of person if asked "will you rather have $1000 now or $100K in 5 years" he'll take the $1000.

Maybe if you were a mature adult you’d realize if you take the $1,000 now you could turn it into WAYYYYYY more than $100k in 5 years, ya lame brained MORAHN

I honestly expected anything except a "Dsp Reacts" for the member goal thingy on April.

Needless to say, it is a shit reward as far as member rewards can go, since for me at least member rewards should be an activity where you directly interact with said members Like multiplayer. If we take that from that equation what are we left with? a glorified debunk stream, more over the info DTRH narrates is one that everyone knows and outdated by todays standards. Also the point of reacting to something is to film yourself watching it for the first time, something that this dipshit clarified that he had watched previously, defeating the whole purpose of reacting which brings to why I call it a glorified debunk stream. It would've been better if instead of DTRH he would have decided to watch someone like xMortis, so that at least he can keep the illusion of sticking it to the trolls. All that said, the reason he decided to do this glorified debunk stream, proves to me that hes getting desperate since in the past he said he wouldn't do shit like this. Like fellow kiwis have said, when you start to cut him from money, he will start to do things that he wont like.

Finally i think this is him trying to test the waters to see if non-gaming content can be viable, considering hes getting older. So I wont be surprised if he starts to do more "reactions" or non-gaming stuff going forward as the years pass. Which if we are lucky we are gonna have premium salt and some quality gold dust going forward.

The April Member’s Goal announcement confirms we are in the most boring pig arc to ever occur within the Goutverse.

We can’t look at what’s happening within the DSPverse in a vacuum to understand how we got here. Context is important and because Phil is so sheltered and boring, things move at a snail’s pace but culminate to certain inflection points.

We have to look at Phil pre-pandemic and post-pandemic as a major shift happened within the latter that has now defined the course of action of Phil’s overall streaming trajectory.

Pre-pandemic, Phil was entering one of the toughest times of his streaming career: he publicly declared his bankruptcy, effectively confirming that he was broke and completely mismanaged his monies; the marriage and cat scam sagas were just wrapping up and the ire against such events put the final nail in the coffin of Phil’s willingness to share details about his personal life; this was pre-Vest faggotry where a $57 Tips Goal was considered a good fucking night; we were also entering the final recesses of Phil’s willingness to play games online with other human beings and also willingly leaving voice chat on to talk to said other human beings. The pig’s back was against the wall, things were not going well and he was feeling the pressure. Mid-to-late 2019 was the last time we got some real juicy begging and stressed pig moments.

Then came the coof. And a lot of people’s assumptions that this would be the deathknell for the pig. Mass layoffs, shuttering of businesses, people not allowed to leave their house, purses tightening around the world and the country. Who would have the discretionary income to spend on someone as dumb and useless as DSP?

Well, the exact opposite happened. Online streaming experienced a major boon; people receded into online fantasies and online worlds to forget about the state of the world; and streaming was propelled into the mainstream even quicker than its pre-pandemic trajectory.

This is how the post-pandemic world has affected DSP: granted a fraudulent bankruptcy because of the virtual collapse of the bankruptcy court system and due to omnipotent pigroach luck dealing with an incompetent trustee; the ascent of the Vest Streak where simps and cucks were paying a man $100 per day to put on pieces of clothing for almost an entire year; multiple new whales finding out about Phil and giving him tens of thousands of dollars due to mental illness; Phil’s further recess into becoming a complete and total hermit; getting kicked off Twitch but still making the same amount of income on YT; and Phil being financially rewarded for providing the absolutely least amount of effort therefore having no incentive to change anything.

Things have gone well for DSP in the short-term. Nobody can deny this. A few pathetic whales have latched on to this guy like barnacles and are effectively funding this man’s unhinged gambling addiction.

DSP has become a very long-term lolcow investment at this point: he’s well-insulated; we’ll-financed; and has created a safe space for himself that seems impenetrable.

All of this comes at a heavy cost however: he’s the most boring he’s ever been. There’s no drama and no genuine salt/ anger/ begging. All the things that made Phil watchable are gone.

So him announcing that he’ll watch a tame, almost 6 years old video that’s super light on criticism defines the Phil of now better than ever: that It can be argued that Phil has already gone out with a whimper and joined the annals of having become the most boring person on the internet without even trying.

DSP talks about how he had a phonecall with someone from Machinima during his first year with them and how the guy asked "outside of YouTube what do you want to do". For some baffling reason he took this to mean what do you want to do instead of YouTube, instead of what any normal human would think about: how do you want to use your YouTube channel and its tied in publicity to have more ways of earning money, diversify so you're literally not just earning money from YouTube, and also possibly get opportunities that are more sustainable and not as new (and thus who the fuck knows what will happen with it in terms of earnability) as YouTube. The guy even started suggesting getting into Street Fighter commentating when they talked about SF4, something that clearly wouldn't be done instead of YouTube and opens a ton of roads for other money making avenues.

How the fuck did DSP pass a single business course? I know Fairfield isn't exactly a stellar school but holy shit, this man is so short sighted and unwilling to think big it's shocking. DSP might as well be on a horse track with the blinders he's been wearing his entire "legacy".

Passing a course means nothing.
You can get straight As and learn nothing because the US education system values your ability to repeat information on a test, not your ability to actually understand it.
Phil could be incredibly amazing at test taking. Doesn't mean he understands what he's answering.

This is true, although it's only now we're starting to feel the pain as we realise maybe spending trillions to let people sit at home and watch Netflix might not have been such a great idea. Things like food, heating and fuel are skyrocketing in price, so people really are going to have to start cutting down, even the speds who use your tax money to donate to Phil.

I think he also said he spoke with Knudsen and he's an OK guy (not a detractor) but I didn't catch much of that part.

Knudsen comes off a lot like that other grifting loser who hosts the Quartering when it comes to Phil. He doesn't really take the time to understand why people hate DSP and only lists a cursory overview of some of the older accusations against him. It's one thing to hear "this guy has a reputation for being toxic" and another to actually see him, on livestream, talk about how he'd kick the shit out of an 11-year old girl. There is nothing "misunderstood" or redeemable about him.

It's the opposite, the more he's guaranteed to get the less he cares as he knows that he may not make as much but he can ignore anything he doesn't want to do. (guaranteed income baby!)
He has NEVER earned his money and with the amount he gets for doing fuck all he's not going to start now.

Phil needs to suffer, he needs to be scared, he needs to be horrified about having to get an actual job, right there is where he should always be as that's where he's entertaining to us, the dented ones will like it regardless, the more money he's guaranteed the less he'll be fun to watch, it'll all be "baby/clown"-mode - which will make anyone with a brain leave and the "funny superchat doods" would as well as we won't be there to see the "funny" superchat/comment.
