I'll join in on mocking Zelensky and his ilk, but I'm not going to defend the Russian army, and I hope the Russian soldiers can return home and that the Ukrainian soldiers can be left in peace in their own lands.

So execute teenagers and wives as a sort of preventative measure against possible insurgents? As much as I acknowledge that there was a real threat of insurgency behind the front and that the Ukrainians had armed basically everyone, it's quite severe to have them at your mercy, and executing them while you have them on their knees with their hands tied. Would you like to have footage flooding in of Russian troops finding their fellow soldiers having been captured, tied, gagged, and executed with a shot to the back of the head?
