I've not been keeping up with the war the last week or two. Busy with work. Got some time off today and yeah the war is still going. Seems like the Ukies are really sticking it to the Ruskies if you read the beeb. That, and those monster Ruskies and their 'war crimes'.

I got no more hot takes than I had last time. This war will go on. It will go on for a long time in one way or the other. As if the Slav hate machine needed fuelling more.

I blame Putin to an extent. I probably blame Zelensky to a greater degree. But I blame the so called leaders of the 'free western world' more than anyone. Looking at you Sleepy Joe and you fatty Johnson. Yeah, I get it that they are just puppets and avatars for the real movers and shakers, but you know...

Fuck this gay world. What a time to be alive.

Honestly I was pro-Putin until the minute he actually fucking did it.

I legitimately believed "PuTiNs gOnNa iNvAdE uKrAiNe gUyZ!11" was retarded CIA/State Department/Biden Admin propaganda and fear-mongering. I legitimately believed certain factions were making up bullshit claims about Russian imperialist ambitions just for saber-rattling and internal division.

Then the fucker actually went and fucking did it.
He actually fucking proved he's exactly the kind of dipshit the CIA/State Dep propaganda claims he is.
This is one of the things that really annoyed me in the runup to this. There was so much evidence this wasn't another exercise, from the deployment of way more units, to the pontoon bridges outside of exercise zones, to the repositioning of aircraft, to the amassing of naval assets in the Black Sea. And people looked at this easily available intelligence, that the CIA was pointing out looked like the runup to an invasion, the history of the Russians using 'Exercises' to mask buildup of military assets before invasions, and went, "I DON'T BELIEVE THE GLOWNIGGERS EVER REEEEEEEE", especially on the right. The signs were all there, and obvious.

InB4 "muh DF-21D :smug:"
I remember on this server there was this Chinese mainlander who kept sperging about the DF-21D every single time the topic of china and war was brought up. People just replied to him with "make my iphone" and he got really mad.

The "oh shit they're going to invade" moment for me was when they were bringing in equipment from the other side of the fucking country.

Like "shut the fuck up, glowbois, Putin's not gonna invade Ukraine."

Yeah, until he invaded I didnt respect putin by any means, having seen him as just a run of the mill "i will cause a fuckload of geopolitical headaches if you dont gib concessions" semi-third-world dictator who was not even remotely close to his overhyped boogieman characterisation by western media, but i did kind of just assume he was actually aware and realistic about russia's real capabilities and place in the world despite all the propaganda and bluster and that he was not dumb enough to blow up his profitable and comfortable racket based on either...
a) being dumb enough to buy his own propaganda
b) being dumb enough to think his enemies bought his propaganda
...but it turns out he really is that fucking stupid. Either he was certain russia was the military juggernaut it claimed to be and never bothered to double check, or he was certain that ukraine would surrender without a fight and the west would be too cowed by both russian might and the "political controversy" of opposing an anti nazi diversity crusade to punish russia

Way to be a contrarian retard, congrats.

Anyway. Spoiling this.
The Twitter checkmark said so, so it's true.

Save your crocodile tears. I remember perfectly well how you desperately tried to justify or prove the fake nature of the torture video of Russian soldiers that you could see with your own eyes. And now you are shocked by four photos on Twitter.

These territories were under the control of a Ukrainian battalion, and as we saw, they were not the kindest sort.I wonder what would happen to those who angered them.

And if they are killed by the Russian army, then there are questions.

Haven't we already established that Ukrainian civilians are armed with Molotov cocktails and are given weapons to fight the troops? Are they still civilians? And the Ukrainian troops change into civilian clothes and try to disappear into the crowd, after which they hit the rear of the army.

More than once, the Ukrainian authorities have openly lied about everything that is possible at all. This information requires confirmation.

Stop being a faggot and provide reliable evidence before you start another bleeding heart contest.

Suckstart a shotgun and do us all a favor. There's enough evidence from multiple sources here for it.

"I will justify russian shooting civilians in cold blood while crying over a few artillery men being shot in the knees over shelling cities"

Yeah that's the thing is I admittedly wasn't looking at this intelligence.
I was just looking at what people in government & related positions were saying.

the us would not even need to involve its army or marine corps at all in a defense of taiwan. it's a naval war, fought by warships and aircraft, a million drafted conscripts don't really help in a setting like that. so no, no draft necessary.
naval invasion itself isnt even an option as long as the US navy remains intact. the chinese would first have to decisively defeat the american pacific fleet and expel it from the region, and i do not believe they are capable of doing that.
Taiwan is only about 100 miles from the Chinese coast and while China's navy is certainly not comparable to the US, a war in Taiwan would be well within the range of support from land-based fighters and surface to surface missiles. The US would absolutely have to engage more than just its pacific fleet to gain air superiority and it might still be left at a numerical disadvantage since while the US does have more planes than China, China could afford to commit close to 100% of its airforces while the US would be lucky to be able to commit 50% due to the US having its shit spread all over the world. Likewise, US planes operating over Taiwan would enjoy very little support from other assets like AA missile systems whereas Chinese aircraft could easily retreat back to AA bubbles in mainland China.

After two years of Two Weeks to Flatten the Curve, I don't blame people for being skeptical

I half agree. Yes, the Chinese can't defeat the Seventh Fleet. No, I don't think that's what they're planning at this time. I think they'll continue to bugger with US politics by reducing its domestic influence such as by funding drug cartels in the US, supporting BLM and feminists, and sponsor pro-China legislation.

Yay! For once the USIC can say, “Hey look, we only lie 99% of the time!”, even if they only had their own self-serving interests in mind.

Yeah, that's a fair enough thing. I was hoping Putin wouldn't be retarded either, but expecting him to do something. The incompetence of the Russians since the start of this has been the greatest shock honestly.

Chinese simply can't deploy that much of its airforce and have it be remotely coordinated. Much of their Air Force is also outdated as fuck MiG-21's and MiG-21 clones, with very little access to PGM's. Most of their SAM systems are likewise rather old. The risk of red on red in such a tight space would be gigantic, especially as Chinese air control isn't great and has never been tested in such a way ever, not even in their own exercises in an offensive capacity. The PLAAF and PLAANF are not great air forces.

i know that the battlefield (the taiwan strait) would be within range of chinese coastal installations, including missiles and aircraft.
conversely, those same chinese coastal installations would also be within range of US missiles and aircraft, launched either from american warships or from installations on taiwan.

the US could never hope to successfully launch an invasion of china because the country is too big, the population too large, and the number of soldiers china could mobilize too huge.
but in a sea-based (or coast-to-coast) exchange of missiles and aircraft between warships and military bases, the US forces would achieve a decisive victory.

Not really, just recognizing the mad rush and not willing to follow it. Same as the jab argument: wait, is this really true? Turns out, with every day that passes, it’s being proven false.
Ackchyually the common misconception is that Russia attacked Ukraine, whereas in fact it was other way around.:story:
