The Russians did a pretty good job of killing Ukrainian soldiers in 2014/2015 by tracking their cell phones. I'd guess that experience made them extremely concious that the same thing could be used on them. Doesn't explain why that isn't happening to the Ukrainians again, but if I had to guess its because they send their combat footage to the higher-ups for teams of zoomers to post on Facebook.

I dunno where you were looking but LDPR, Chechens and MoD have been regularly releasing combat footage. Regular Russian army is prohibited from having phones on the battlefield so as to not give intel away.
This was known from the very first days of this operation.

Having seen the effects of civil war on people when I was young I learned that when there are people are getting blown away all the time, any time, by either the military or the opposing party, police services quickly disappear and some will take the opportunity to settle scores. The only way to stop someone from killing you because they feel you wronged them in some way is to kill them first. Or hire well armed body guards with itchy trigger fingers and let them do the killing for you. That's a bit risky as they may decide to kill you and take all your valuables for themselves. So an entire family has to take watch all the time regardless, and maybe go offensive if necessary.

I am not at all surprised this happened; in fact, I expected it to happen and who did the killing may or may not be accurately determined for a long time.

Re: planes, not only do you need people to fly them, you need engineers. The US just seems content dumping a bunch of guns and equipment a lot of people don't know how to use. When they break down you don't have anyone to repair them and no factories to make new parts.

It's almost as if Ukraine was looted by (((oligarchs))) beforehand where they couldn't have prepared for this.

Can't vouch for every unfaltering beacon of moral behavior out there, but when Ukraine aired video of them shoting prisoners in the knee, Russia escalated the issue all the way to the UN and actually forced Ukrainean officials to pinky promise they won't do it again. If these ten-year girls with anal and vaginal tears exist, I would expect Ukrainean government escalate the issue in a similar manner because this is just as abhorrent, if not more. Much more.

I'm getting vibes of the Red Army rapes here. Of course, questioning the scale leads you to being called a rape denier. There is no doubt that it is happening - it happens in every war. And in peacetime. We won't know the scale until years afterward.
