Wow, the comment section on that last post is amazing! On a quick scroll through, every comment I saw was either someone talking about their very real terrible pain that a mean old doctor dismissed, or someone telling OP they are a horrible doctor who should be ashamed for being so terrible. The lack of self awareness throughout the chronic illness community as a whole just blows my mind.

That's why I don't really talk about medicine except here and private Facebook groups.

In one of her videos she explained that she has a less severe case than typical because she has a compound heterozygous mutation (typical cases are some form of homozygous mutatiion I guess?). And she apparently is going to be part of a research study spanning a decade. The information is within the first several minutes of the video.

I've always thought of Cheyanne as one of the munchies who is legitimately sick but also happens to be a drama queen who got used to making sickness into her identity. She's spoken about having to be in the hospital for long periods of time as a child, that probably would leave some sort of mark of it being part of who she is. Getting a bunch of positive attention for it probably doesn't help either.
TLDR: She's not full of shit, just shitty.

Highlights:
They had a question about SJ being sick, question asker said lots of people have died from SJ’s conditions. Alicia seems very jokey about Sarah being sick. She says she just brings her lots of sparkling water and a silicone bread pan to vomit in. Their dog comes over when Sarah is on the floor. Apparently that’s “not the answer people want.” Alicia says she has to remind SJ to infuse, and SJ gets grumpy. Also, Sarah dropped broken glass on her port??
Their travels are on pause. Things have changed drastically. They are selling their camper because they need to downsize. SJ never drives when pulling the camper. They’re almost done renovating the RV and have a van that is empty. Currently they’re living in a house in Christmas, Michigan. Alicia’s parents bought the house but do not live in it, it’s a fixer-upper with a huge garage.
SJ says her health got better before she started traveling, things are “normal” living on the road being sick. Her health a year and a half ago was too bad for her to travel. She still has bad days. For several weeks she was on the floor throwing up. They always keep a month of extra medical supplies.
They make their money on the road “from the government,” no further elaboration. Alicia says she could be a health coach again if she needed to.
SJ put her camera in the freezer when it was overheating.

SJ's heart is racing (127 bpm), Alicia says “because I’m close to you.”
SJ has been collecting questions for this for three months, except some of them are statements.
They met on Plenty of Fish or maybe Tinder, met up where SJ was staying. SJ looked “badass” apparently. Alicia remembers way more details about it. They don’t know what their future is together.
SJ and Alicia have been together for ten months. SJ likes how caring Alicia is, especially because SJ is not close with her family. Alicia is the type who will do anything for her family. Alicia is annoyed by SJ being “a little oversensitive” but thinks it’s cute how Miss 40 IQ messes up saying words.
Alicia was in the navy for four years.
Someone asked what country they want to visit, and SJ said Africa. Alicia said all of them.
They were talking about milestones. SJ climbed a giant hill in Badlands, South Dakota. She also “did seven miles” once. She said she’s had about five big milestones since meeting Alicia.
They were asked who was more emotional, Alicia immediately said SJ but she had an argument prepared for how they’re definitely equally emotional but just get upset over different things.
SJ’s favorite food is curry, Italian, basically any ethnic food. She really likes food. Did she ever have a feeding tube? Alicia likes ice cream and Thai food.
SJ’s goal is to keep traveling and do all of her regular stuff full-time on the road. Alicia’s goal is to build the van and live the van life. SJ said this is her dream life, Alicia basically said the same.
Then they chat about random shit at the end. They were able to give their sick cat an enema using SJ's medical supplies. The discussion about Smudge's bathroom habits was way too long.

It seems like Sarah Jean is done with munchie shit possibly? Alicia is cute and has a decent sense of humor, she doesn't seem like she's fed up with SJ but it's only been ten months.

Having an ak-tual diagnosis is meaningless since most munchies have a DX for something that can't be tested for. Fibro is one of those things. Enjoy your wastebasket diagnosis with 0 credibility. Most people with chronic pain and fatigue suffer from a high level of deconditioning. The longer you stay in bed and stationary, the harder it becomes to live a normal life. It's a rut that you need consistency and dedication to get out of. And you're going to feel like shit while you're working on it. This covers most POTS patients as well. Lose weight + lift weight. It works.

I think a lot of these munchies started out with hypochondria or something similar.

I've seen a lot of munchies start out as perpetually anxious people with a low tolerance for discomfort and a propensity towards laziness. Any moment where they didn't feel 100% caused them emotional discomfort as well as physical, so it got overblown in their head.

If the people around them don't shut that shit down quick, they get a taste of what it's like to be catered to and be encouraged to sit on their ass. Then that snowballs.
