Can someone tell me wtf she's talking about? The differences between "modern" English and Old English are massive, like completely unintelligible, we're talking 1000 years ago and runes and shit.
Every Spanish person I've spoken to recognises the difference between Mexican and other Latin American Spanish, but they understand it 99%. It's like French French and Quebec French. Funny accents, some differences, but you understand what they're saying.
Perhaps there is something I'm missing here, maybe "Latino Spanish" is something entirely different (?).

FYI, even if you grow up in California supposedly hearing "Latino Spanish" (whatever the fuck that's supposed to be) you still learn fucking Castilian Spanish in high school (if you're not a weirdo who takes something useless like German).
