It's obvious the west wants Ukraine as a strategic location and also pipelines that go through it. There is also the hunter biden laptop shit which is probably some form of beneficial corruption to to west that hurts the east. So basically its protecting our interests and is a resource grab.
i doubt there's anyything big or serious happening there that could 'hurt the east' in any meaningful way. i think what's there probably boils down to some combination of embezzlement of public funds, bribery, lobbyism, nepotism, all the classic parts of financial-political corruption. probably a clique of corrupt politicians working with shady businesses, taking bribes and lucrative no-show jobs in exchange for handing out public contracts to the highest bidder and passing legislation that is beneficial to certain interests.
