I personally don't think all of the rascal's bits land, but they deserve credit where credit is due. On his own, Pat is an annoying, bloviating midwit. The times when his lolcowness really shines come because of his interactions with the OnA folk. The whole reason the people ITT are so thirsty for the transcript is because the rascals take Pat's turds and turn them into gold. It doesn't make sense to then turn around and berate them over how exactly the gold is being served, especially when the complaint is, 'I have to wait for a day or two, but I want it now!' or 'Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie!'

It's not so much entitlement as it is a culture clash. ONA and the Farms have very different cultures; here, if you're going to provide something, you don't tease it a day or two in advance; you just provide it as soon as you're able. Further, Jersh and the mods tend to frown on self-promotion, if only because they don't want the userbase to be doxed (it's not a bannable offense, it's just considered crass- like chewing with your mouth open); we have many enemies, after all.

I don't love everything the rascals do, but we owe this thread to them and it's one of the best current threads on the Farms. The flow of content is steady and delicious. They paid for the transcript; it's up to them when to release it. I didn't pay a penny and I'm going to wait fucking patiently.

I'm definitely rethinking my attitude on actively trolling some cows. It usually results in crappy updates. This thread delivers. I still think it's shitty to troll his wife, but again, free content of high quality is hard to argue with.

Two points to make here:

First, for the sake of any Rascals or newfags in the thread who may not know: our rule against trolling sprang up from Chris-Chan turning into an increasingly deranged shut-in from the constant trolling he received. It got to the point that most trolls couldn't even get a reaction out of him (the CWCiki refers to such failtrolling as weening), and the two instances of trolling that did get content (the Idea Guys and Isabella Loretta Janke) were received by us with pure horror and disgust over what they did.

This leads nicely into my second point: we cannot predict how a cow will react to trolling. It might produce milk, but then again, it might create another Chris-Chan who cowers in their bedroom without giving us content. Some cows milk themselves; they don't need to be trolled (Ethan Ralph, for example, can always be counted on to provide us with something at least once a month.) Moviebob, on the other hand, is smart enough to ignore obvious troll bait.

Now, I'm not moralfagging by any means; ONA's prize pig seems fairly predictable (for now), so I think the trolling can continue without any loss in content (indeed, the trolling produces content in some instances; pay Quasi you fat bastard!) I'm not going to troll Patrick, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over Patrick being trolled by ONA. I just wanted to summarize why the Farms acts the way it does.
