That was last year (check in 2020 was $2000 and was based on 2018 tax filing) Which means he had to go to the government website and lie in order to get it since he, himself, makes too much.

Phil has insulated himself pretty well from any claims she might have to the Wakhando: Like you pointed out, he bought it well before they even met and has not comingled assets or relied on her to pay the mortgage since she moved in. Unless she has paid for something we're not seeing, like major repairs or mortgage payments beyond the monthly installment, she has no claim to the property. This also applies to the Toyota.

To receive alimony she'd need to be there a few more years (I swear I saw an article listing a cutoff of 5 years but cannot find it now) and Phil could argue against the "maintain the lifestyle" criterion by saying alimony would make him "unable to meet his own needs and financial obligations" which is a valid defense in Washington. We all saw him claim the WWE Champions spending as a business expense in his fraudulent bankruptcy, he could claim it in divorce court as well.

The other problem with any "Kat ruins Phil in a divorce" theory is that any scenario where that happens involves one or both of them hiring an attorney. She makes near minimum wage in a part time job while he spends all the money he takes in on gacha and liquor, if they got divorced they'd have to self represent. It'd be amusing to watch Phil and Kat drag their white trash shouting matches into divorce court but good luck predicting how it would turn out.

Because the cake and frosting came from a box while this story comes from Phil's imagination. This year's birthday cake looked just like all the others and we know those were Betty Crocker or Mrs. Fields mixes. The True and Honest version of this story is that Phil probably "made" himself a cake by adding eggs + milk to a mix and making frosting out of peanut butter + Cool Whip + granulated sugar while Kat grudgingly helped or sat in her room playing Skyrim.

As a baking sperg/aside, you do not need a mixer for frosting unless it is extremely dense or you are making large quantities (which Phil's was not even if he messed up and made "frosting" that was 100% creamy peanut butter). The ingredients just aren't heavy enough to be difficult to mix by hand and using a mixer will make the frosting slightly denser because it is harder to trap air in the mix which makes the overall frosting lighter + fluffier. Knowing Phil he probably made a grainy frosting too because he used granulated (the kind used in most baking and sweeteners for tea/coffee) instead of confectioner's (powdered) sugar.

Edit: Knowing Phil I suspect the mixer is real, he bought it at a large markup on one of his designated shopping days, he brought it up to flex, and his claim that "it's not that expensive" is his attempt to deflect criticism over splurging when he has been crying poor for years.

I would be quite impressed if the reason Kat held a job this whole time was to save up for divorcing Phil and going after all his shit. I mean it wouldn't work, and would be stupid, but still a logical explanation for why she works at all.

He IS really sensitive about that shit, and he even goes so far as to speak of how it's an attempt at painting him as a liar. Quite the slip, if you ask me, because most of the time he seems almost deliberately leaving his awareness up to the imagination. Meaning, he usually doesn't show his hand in that regard, he could be oblivious or he could not be.

There is a way to reconcile the amount Phil owes with him writing off WWE Champions on his taxes: We all overlooked that Phil was not paying payroll tax either. Math is in the spoiler but the short version is that self employment + the progressive income tax rate + flat payroll tax rate would mean the payroll tax could nearly double his debt to the IRS. Here are my sources for income and payroll tax rates. Note that the payroll tax rates quoted in that link all need to be doubled - normally the employee and employer each pay half (the employer contribution is not captured in paystubs or tax forms) but since Phil is self employed, he is both of those and there is no way for him to pay a reduced rate.

To be perfectly clear this is not hard proof he is deducting WWE Champions, just that he could owe about $17,000 for a single year's worth of taxes and still qualify for the final stimulus payment even if he did not file jointly with Kat.

Spoiler: Math

This will all assume Phil made $120,000 and use 2021 rates. $120,000 is in the right ballpark and the year-over-year changes to tax brackets since the Trump tax cuts were signed have been small.

Scenario 1: Phil does not take business deductions and only owes back income tax. This is more or less what Actually assumed.
Taxable income = $120,000 - $12,550 standard deduction = $107,450.

Using the brackets from that link we get a tax due of 10 % * $9,950 + 12% * ($40,525 - $9,950) + 22% * ($86,375 - $40,525) + 24% * ($107,450-$86,375) = $19,809. This is in the same ballpark as Phil's claim to owe $17,000 for 2018 and the difference could be a down payment he was able to make when negotiating the payment plan.

Scenario 2: Phil deducts $60,000 in business expenses and the payment plan is a lumped sum for payroll and income tax. This is based on the bankruptcy filing exclusive of the random spike to $9,000 in 2019 July.

Taxable income = $60,000 - $12,550 standard deduction = $47,450. Yes it is legal to take standard and business deductions concurrently

Now we get an income tax due of 10 % * $9,950 + 12% * ($40,525 - $9,950) + 22% * ($47,450 - $40,525) = $6,187.50.
For payroll tax we get 15.6% * $47, 450 = $7,417.80.

Sum the two together and you get $13,417.80. This is in the right ballpark but slightly lower than the $17,000 he claimed to owe and the difference could be some combination of increases in his Champions spending + counting the credit card payments as business expenses + fees charged by his accountant + penalties and fees charged by the IRS + him just not making a distinction between federal and state taxes. The bank leaks show payments to "State of Washington" but the amount and frequency are very inconsistent so it's hard to say with any confidence which of those are state B&O tax vs. something else.
