Culture Gilbert Gottfried Dead at 67

Famed comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away at the age of 67. Actor Jason Alexander shared the news on his Twitter account with the message, "Gilbert Gottfried made me laugh at times when laughter did not come easily. What a gift. I did not know him well but I loved what he shared with me. My best wishes and sympathy to his family. #ripGilbertGottfried" Fellow comedian and editor Emery Emery also shared a message mourning the passing of Gottfried: "On the morning I'm releasing my latest film, I discover my friend and colleague, Gilbert Gottfried has passed. I am so so sad. Gilbert graciously lent his voice to the "Science Friction" project and he will be dearly missed but never forgotten. This is his hilarious contribution."

Gilbert Gottfried's official Twitter account later confirmed his death.

RIP to a real one

As a kid I never knew his voice was an act and that he was putting it on for show. He hated breaking character and I think there are one or two clips of his real voice out there. He also appeared on TruTV World’s dumbest and was by far the funniest on that show.

He was Iago (the parrot) in the Disney Aladdin movies.

Outside of that, got nothing.
He did a lot of side roles in various movies and animationsover the years

One of the more weird/infamous roles he's had is a fucking sentient smoke detector from a PSA about fire safety.

I can't fucking wait for people to say he deserved to die over insensitive over a decade old tweets about the Earthquake and Tsunami that hit Japan that year. It's gonna be so cool to see that guys. Rest In Peace though, Gilbert. You were a neat dude. Hope you can chill out with Robin and Norm and the others.

Why bother with tweets? I just linked his Howard Stern bit.

Imagine they call him anti-semitic over his "jews now rule the world" quote from hitlers birthday lmao.

I'm pretty sure him and Jason Alexander did these as court mandated community service.

His roast of Roseanne Barr made me laugh so hard my ears were ringing for hours afterwards.

EDIT: I meant Joan Rivers, though the Roseanne roast was hilarious too.

He was also a cast member on SNL during one of its worst seasons and he mostly used his real voice in sketches. A few are on YouTube and the scripts are unfunny in ways that are hard to describe, but it's the clearest audio of his real voice that I know of.
