I really wish that even one small group of troons would see this and listen. During the 90's/2000's at least in the UK it was pretty much the default position that a trans person was someone with gender dysphoria who identifies as the opposite gender, actually thinking you are another gender would have been seen as crazy and the equivalent of when Sasha Cohen Baron's character Ali G went around acting like a Jamacian and saying 'Is it cause I is black?'.

Also sex reassignment surgeries became available on the NHS in 1999 so it's not like the public in general didn't have support that kind of trans person.

Fun fact: according to his TV Tropes Page, he tried to change his name legally to Jim Sterling but "couldn't for legal reasons". However, I believe that the "legal reason" was "it costs money to change your legal name" and Jim hates paying for anything. Geoff from Rooster Teeth wanted to change his name to "laser" because lol, but he learned that it's much cheaper to change your middle name and settled for that. It's possible that there are other legal reason(s) (maybe it's because he wanted his last name to be shared with a machinegun, for example).

I find this whole total name change thing on a whim fascinating. It is not possible in my country, unless you want to take a dying family name that would stop existing unless you take it, or you can evidence that your name was an error and it is a whole legal process where the burden of proof is on you and they can say no anyway.

I know the UK has no proper identification or registration of any of its citizens and that's why it's a refugee paradise. But name changing on a whim. Wew. I hope Jim changes it to something pretty.
