Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

No way Obi-Wan will be as bad as Picard. Yes, we'll get the black Inquisitor who is really a good person who inspires Obi-Wan to not give up. Making her responsible for the events of the OT. The series will be about how Obi-Wan isn't actually a hero, but despite that chooses to try and do the right thing after strong diverse female shows him "the way." It will be dumb and predictable.

There's just no way it will be as badly put together as Picard. Which I am only hate watching at this stage to see how dumb and bad it is. Picard's female ancestor is a brilliant 24-year-old astronaut who may not go on a mission because she has self-doubt and depression. Picard gives her a pep talk which solves that. It's then promptly forgotten from the script. Data's creator's ancestor runs Picard over in a Tesla making him unconscious. Then the writers don't know how to deal with the fact they made him a robot and dance around it before forgetting that. Then someone goes into his mind, where he is trapped in a memory and is played by a 12-year-old. So Patrick Stewart can lay down in a bed for most of the episode. While other actors lead the "character" to realise his mum had mental illness. His dad had to deal with her shit and maybe wasn't the bad person Picard thought he was as a kid. Then Picard awakes and him and black panther Guinan try to summon Q from a genie's bottle before getting arrested by law enforcement. Where the actor who arrests them played a character from the future in Voyager and you honestly don't know if the producers and writers of the show know this. Whether they just cast the same guy, or if he's the same character. As currently that future doesn't actually exist in this time travel mess that makes no sense.

If you know you'll dislike it, why do you watch it?

Funnily enough, from what these leaks are suggesting, this Reva character sounds like she's going to fulfill the exact same role as that android girl Soji from Picard.

Some random chick that's clearly the writer's pet character, saddled with a tragic animu backstory in an eye-rolling attempt to get the audience to sympathize with her, and centering all the drama and stakes around her instead of the Title Character of the fucking show.

As weird as this sound, I finally watched the 6 movies in sequential order.
It's kind of funny seeing things come into place. Especially with Episode 1 with a high speed Pod Race and needing help from the Gungans to Episode 6 with a high speed Speeder bike chases and help with the Ewoks. Going from the Jedi at their peak to a son trying to save his father. Both Padme and Luke trying to rescue the good left in Anakin and the romance with Padme and Anakin and Leia and Han (a high power force user and a human).
Even Luke's uncle was right. In the beginning, Luke had alot of his father in him, for the worse.
The fact at the end of it all that Luke went on faith alone to bring his father back. Like Mace Windu said, Jedi are keepers of the peace, not soldiers, and Luke kept the peace. It's really beautiful.
As twisted the Jedi purge was, it allowed a fresh start with none of the burden. Also with killing Palpatine/Sidious by murder/suicide by Vader/Anakin brought in a closed loop of the Sith. Anakin did bring balance to the Force.

The movies had alot of those moments where the storytelling draws parallels from each other. As George puts it "It's like poetry so that they rhythm, every stanza rhymes with the last one."

It's almost like you could argue they were soft reboots done right. Because honestly that's kind of what the PT was; same beats and superstructure, but different style and movements to change it up.

Oh sure, I don't like the PT as much as you guys, and I still think Clones is bad. But there was creativity there and other writers did a lot with it. I like the side stuff much more than the films themselves.

If you know you'll dislike it, why do you watch it?

Saying no way it'll be as bad, is significantly different than saying it won't be fucked up.

I stopped watching Star Trek Discovery, which is better than Picard. So why am I still watching Picard? It is an interesting question. I think I just enjoy shitting on it. Noticing all the dumb. Then I liked watching a few youtube channels that shit on it. Seeing my similar thoughts validated. As well as dumb shit I didn't even notice.

At this point, it's more interesting making predictions how these shows are going to ruin the classic characters and see how it plays out. Picard S1 ruined Picard, Data, Riker, Troi, and 7 of 9. S2 ruined Guinan and fucking Q of all people. S3 is literally bringing everyone back (except Wil Wheaton lol get fucked faggot) to ruin them too. How can Disney top this when they ruined Luke, Leia and Han with the movies and Obi-Wan with the show? How about something like have R2D2 comes out as non-binary (lol get it?) and they confirm that xer and 3PO were lovers. Have it be revealed that Yoda was actually a shit Jedi and his FEMALE master knew he'd lead the Jedi to ruin, but no one listened to her because of "muh Jedi patriarchy" or something. They've ruined the Emperor with the comics already and made Vader a fucking joke. What is left to rape? I'm not even going to talk about The Book of Ice Cream.
The movies had alot of those moments where the storytelling draws parallels from each other. As George puts it "It's like poetry so that they rhythm, every stanza rhymes with the last one."
The last video has a few that don't really work and missed some that should have been in the video, such as the twin sunset shot from ROTS and ANH. Someone should use this idea with the ST to show how unstructured they are and what a spit in the face to the series they are.

I know that Rey is the most "nothing" character in cinema, but to prove that she's truly is an evil Sith to the core, here one reviewer pointed out that Rey is firing Force Lightning from the sabers...AFTER CLONE SIDIOUS STOPPED FIRING!
Rey even takes in souls like a Sith with her Avengers Endgame plagerism "I'm all the Jedi".

The prequels are great if only for the excellent behind the scenes extras on the DVDS. Hours upon hours of quality production footage covering every aspect of the filmmaking process. Meanwhile, Disney extras are just fluff pieces about equality.

Watching the complete saga in order is kind of weird because it technically works from 1-6 but to me it's more satisfying to watch the PT after the OT, then watching them in order. It makes it more impactful after knowing what happens then seeing the ending to ROTJ tie it all up perfectly. Also the transition from the ending of ROTS to ANH is perfect too.

The BTS documentaries for TFA are incredibly misleading, overly sentimental nostalgiafaggotry, uninformative, and some of them are downright dishonest. The BTS for TLJ is slightly better because it shows how much of a shitshow the making of that movie was but it's mostly just Rian sucking his own dick while the actors get little to no meaningful screen time. The BTS for TROS makes it obvious that nobody had any idea what the fuck they were doing while making the sequels and never understood Star Wars in the first place. They were never going to turn out to be good movies.

Imagine watching 3 seasons of an hour long TV show you know is bad and you do not like for the sole purpose of ""shitting on it"". That's slightly less time than watching all of the movies sequel trilogy.

Read Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter awhile back, it’s literally the first Terminator in a Star Wars setting and it’s great.

I’d recommend it for anyone who want a good Prequel-era thriller with a political backdrop and an 80s-style atmosphere.

It even has a gender-flipped Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor.

As much as I dislike Ahshoka, I'm so glad Filoni only has eyes for that orange hoe. I can't imagine what horrors Clown World would inflict on Darsha Assant.

She would have been killed off in some completely different way than she was in canon, because the jackasses who worked on TCW didn't give a shit about continuity. Probably would have had a completely different personality too.

I was surprised that the author had both the integrity and maturity to let Maul slaughter Kyle and Sarah 2.0. I know pre-Phantom Menace stories have a status quo of Maul being a secret, but I am so used to Star Wars writers growing into their characters and not letting them go.

I enjoyed it, even as a huge Darth Maul fan and a massive fan of the first Terminator, I can say that it really stands on it’s own. Using Maul as the T-800 was fucking genius, I could hear “Burning in the Third Degree” during a few scenes.

She would’ve become a cyborg and lived into the Clone Wars, against all odds ran into Maul, she’d survive and become a founder of the Rebellion. Twisted into a different character all together and later killed by an OC. They’d make her a mirror of Maul, a prodigal warrior cut down in their prime and all potential lost with their youth.

Lol stop giving them ideas!

There was no body, though. They could say she was in a stasis tank under the Temple or something and have her wake up during the Sequel era without having aged. She'll be black, of course.

My money would be on the writers misinterpreting the Terminator homage and make her the Sarah Connor expy instead of the guy who lost his son.

He’d be forgotten (his son the John Connor expy would be too) and Darsha would become a too edgy for me cyborg. They’d treat her Maul confrontation as an “abuser confrontation” and milk it for empowerment points.

I can already see it

I think Star Trek 2009 alone is why JJ was hired. And Star Wars was going to get raped no matter who the director was after Disney owned it. But like I said some pages back, I wish RLM would give some real closure to SW since that was what made them so popular. Mike and Jay are actually good at writing going by their opening monologs for their reviews, so they could make more thoughtful videos on the state of Hollywood or whatever rather than leave it to talks they have during movie reviews.

Most people that ever will "wake up" have. And when RLM make excuses for nu-Trek like "they just want to make Star Trek dark and edgy to appeal to younger people; they just don't get Star Trek" or whatever. They give copes to people that don't want to see what's going on. The spergy shit that happened in the RLM thread is proof of how much people rather sperg than just say "Star Trek is left wing". I can only image how bad it is with actual normies.
the reason the fanbase won't wake up is because they're gen-X embracing assholes, its like those union guys that still vote Democrat because that was what they learned to do back in their 20s, and are now too set in their ways to realize the libs hate them or they were mainly used as useless cattle.

When you look at their reviews they genuinely believe the world is still how it was a decade ago when they started the fucking channel. You can tell by how they make fun of college kids as wiggerish bros, because to them the idea of white people being into rap is still the joke it was back in 2003, just like how being edgy and dark was associated with appealing to teenagers because of marilyn manson and antihero comic books.

I also understand why they do that, when you stop paying attention to pop culture, or the news time sort of goes into a stasis, you stop learning who the hot new celebs are, or the biggest trends. you never shop for clothes and still wear the same crap you did in your 20s, you associate green day or aerosmith with edgy naughty music parents won't let kids listen to because thats what you remember back in the 1980s/1990s. its like how tumblr was associated with emos or reddit with free speech edgybois back in the early 2010s, but to associate that with them now is absurd. but unless you bother updating your views or keeping up with trends you would never know.

look at the UHF review, to them Comedy BangBang or Tim&Eric are still extremely indie underground comedians because thats what they were a decade ago, adult swim is still known for their crazy cartoons in their minds, because thats what it was known for back in the 2000s. Its also why they can't see politics for what it is, politics is a reflection of culture which is a reflection of demographics and marketing.

If you never bother noticing that Milwakuee isn't the same rural racist shithole you grew up in, but instead looks more like 1970s compton, then you won't realize why its that way or why those democrats aren't doing a thing about it or why local politicans all wanted to crucify Kyle Rittenhouse for doing what any sterotypical dude would do. Its like George Zimermann, self defense and castle doctrine was just common sense back when he grew up, it wouldn't even have made the local newspaper because a local production of a shakespeare play but with goths would have been considering more newsworthy. you see the same thing with Patton Oswalt, he still associates where he lives with the Klan and rural racists because back in the 1980s it was probably like that, but now its almost entire Asian and the richest county in the US, but his refusal to breakout and understand how shit things have gotten and who's to blame is why he keeps having to apologize for things that he assumed were perfectly normal. Few people would have blinked an eye in the 2000s to him hanging out with David Chapelle or Jim Goad, outside of a few nutty leftists and despite that obviously not being the case he'll just act like it is and move on.

look at their criticism of the shows politics, they view it with the same eyerolls they were trained to back in the 2000s when Jennne Girraflo or other lisa simpson types started whining. they see it as appealing to a fringe minority, the one chick at the bar who happened to have dyed hair and tattoos, which are still rare and unique in their eyes. they don't realize the overton window has shifted since the 90s. Even worse they don't have the intellectual curiosity necessary to break them out of their ways. You can tell by that dogshit idea they had for a star trek series, or just their movies. they'll very cliche and by the book. Thats why their Star Wars prequel reviews were shit, it was them evaluating star wars using the same stuff any dumbass that went to film school would say, too rigid to see why someone might want to go outside of their box.

Its why they can do something like Nerd Crew mocking the types that praise these products but never ask why those types get so popular, its one step below socialism, in terms of lack of ability to recognize patterns. Obviously i'm just basing it on their output; and maybe they're using all their cash to support Sam Hyde's art, and then there's the whole consequences for admitting jews are intentionally destroying our culture. but still. Every action is just a random one, because they never learned to see the strings "golly Star Trek is too political now" "golly Star Wars is too political now" "golly ghost hunters is too political now" they can't admit that A.those people they used to support were either using them or just recently became evil and B. That society has decided that marketing to them is evil and wrong and C.that marketing to them despite the influx of cash it would bring is not worth the societal cost despite them supposedly being in the majority

This is especially common for people in the Gen-X age because of the Moral Majority and the Bush family truely being the best bad actors when it came to using religion as an excuse to destroy all that is good in society. Just like the ginger in the Sequels, they made sure to act as much like a villian as possible to help people realize his side are bad. Unlike the boomers they never experience in real life the stuff that the (((media))) swept under the rug, the socialists murdering politicans or the race riots, all they knew was what their pop culture and punk music told them, and as Buchanan admits, the GOP mostly were playing up to their expectations everywhere except in actual governing. So the sudden realization that "wait a minute only the right is supposed to censor and lie, why is the left doing it" becomes such a shock that a good chunk decides to blue pill or do a sargon-esque alt-light maneuver instead of redpilling. You'd see a lot of guys their age with their mindset during gamergate, guys who were shocked the left would force some cool tattoo wearing rocket scientist to apologize for wearing a shirt with hot ladies on it made by his lesbian friend. "now i'm agreeing with breitbart!" was a common retort by former hardcore air america loving lefties. a lifetime of being told one bullshit lie made them too set in their ways, no matter how hard they're flashed with the real truth. Its also especially easy for these types to never learn because they retreated from normal society and trends with their nerd subculture, which is why they are so shocked at what they're seeing on their favorite media despite the fact that it wouldn't seem too different from the rest of the propaganda they see on their tv. its why RLM is complaining in the first place, if they actually bothered watching normal tv or news it wouldn't have seemed so out of the norm. same with the plots themselves, Rich called out the fact that the first season was ripping off Mass Effect which every other person besides Mike also knew because Rich at least kept up with culture when it came to video games. Same reason they had to backpedal hard on Bruce Willis, everyone paying attention knew he was declining mentally, but they removed themselves so much they didn't realize they spend 2 hrs mocking some Joe Biden-esque old man

TL;DR they are too lazy to keep up with culture or politics so they don't realize its not a fringe group of leftists, but most of them. also they can't admits its the left because they remember the left are the good guys; like they were when they were growing up in their rural shitholes. its why it took until it came to their little nerd enclave for them to realize how bad the left has gotten if they don't just deny it completely.
