He said he had sent his wife and kids somewhere, whether that is outside the country or just somehow safer in Ukraine is unknown, but he did say they were somewhere safe. Take that as you will.

Three possibilities.
1. Coach Red Pill is dead, either by Ukrainians or Russians. Neither has reason to trust him.
2. Coach intentionally mislead people to assume is his dead or captured. By missing scheduled appointments the USB thinks that either the police, locals or someone else on their team got him so they stop looking for him while he cheeses it out of the Ukraine.
