I have a hunch Harry just had a long standing parental estrangement campaign against his wife and used his kids as pawns in his fight with his ex. Mom became the "psycho bitch" according to Harry, and the kids accepted it.

The behavior of both Morris girls points to this to an insane degree. That's the part that should really horrify you.

Given what we know about Harry I kind of can see her mom needing to GTFO with good reason. Lots of women think they can leave an angry, abusive asshole and save their kids from his bullshit. When they get to divorce court they find out the husband is accusing them of being a mentally ill hysterical drug addict whore and demands full custody and has the best divorce attorney in the county (and made sure to call the other good ones to ensure she could not retain them.). The kids end up with dad and then resent mom for abandoning them and not being there anymore to help protect them from angry dad.
