It's boomer rock for people who didn't grow up in the 70s, of course Patrick is one of those "born in the wrong generation" people with music, what an insufferable cunt.
Sure Pat, the guitar is nice and reminiscent of that bygone era but these days the sound is so played out that it's rather boring and just sounds borrowed. You could at least pick a more modern version of this sound with a Greta Van Fleet song or something but either way you're going to come off as a fat faggot for your dad rock bullshit.
I hate that "Born in the wrong generation" bullshit.
If they really were born in the generation they think they belong to, they would not have as much unrestricted access to music as it is possible to get nowadays.
Even if one was well off, they still would need space to store vinyl, cassettes, or CDS. Recording songs off the radio or knowing someone with the original album and a tape deck was the only way to get them without buying them.
Nowadays a budget smartphone, an affordable SD card, and a wifi hotspot will get you more music than you could listen to in several lifetimes.
If Fatrick lived in the 70s, aside from likely having been headbutted to death in a pogo pit at a punk gig, he would be listening to the same utter garbage on the radio, cause even the loser rock kids would have hated him back then.
Edit:
I recently found out to my personal horror that Ice-T with BodyCount, Early Sepultura, and even Biohazard are being considered "Dad Rock" by kids today.
At least some of my tastes were "cool" when they were supposed to be though. Fatrick being a Teenager in the 90s and liking what would have been "Dad Rock" then is just revealing how totally square and not "down wiv da kidz" he has always been.
