What the hell is this bizarro world I see people live in? Why is it either "Hololive and Stars should break down the barriers and fully integrate" or "They never interact ever because they are idols"? News flash to anyone that wants to comment on this further, neither of these ideas are based in reality. People collab and talk to whoever they want to collab and talk with. Some members decide to go full on with the no males thing, and others don't care and will go with whoever. Do not pretend that just because there are people that don't immediately want to honor kill their oshi for collabing with a guy, that they want some full deconstruction of 'idol culture' or whatever. Most people are into Hololive because it is a different experience from the norms of streaming, the idol part of it is a big reason why it feels that way, but the reality that some of these people try to claim exists (the one where Holostars is completely walled off and inaccessible) is a fiction, and has been for years now. This doesn't even consider the Holostars side, where there are plenty of opportunities for them to collab with the girls, but they also choose not too for various reasons. Wagahai is well within the norms of other Hololive members, and she would still be within the norms if she said the opposite.

I don't have any issue with how Cover runs Hololive w.r.t. male-female interactions. The idol niche is the one they decided to fill and it's the one that made them the most successful VTubing company in the world. There is zero reason to change how they operate. Even if NijiEN proves to be more successful than HoloEN, which I doubt, Hololive is stuck with their audience anyway. An audience which at least for the near future is more than enough to make every woman that joins the company very well off--and certainly better off than any NijiEN female streamer regardless of how much a NijiEN male streamer rakes in superchats.

My main point was Hololive fans generally don't want to watch male VTubers. There is basically nothing Hololive members can do to help HoloStars members. Calliope inviting Rikka to her Birthday concert did not help Rikka grow at all. The vast majority of Hololive's audience will never be HoloStars fans.

I don't really want to go into this topic too in depth but I will say that I do believe audience alienation and hence financial repurcussions are often the primary reason most Hololive members don't collab with male VTubers. Make no mistake securing the bag is perfectly reasonable when you're dealing with a job as temperamental as VTubing. One day you're on the top of the world, and the very next you could be jobless.

That being said, there are definitely some members that prefer socializing in their female-only safe space and some members are legitimately cripplingly shy like Aqua even if I really only buy it in Aqua's case. Moreover, anyone new that applies to Hololive knows what type of evironment they sign up for so really it's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy especially on the JP side.

And of course, some would rather take the hit and collab with male VTubers/streamers and that is a choice they're free to make but there is definitely a measureable impact. Not enough to cripple their finances by any stretch but it is there and would be worse for some than for others depending on how big they already are and what type of audience they've cultivated. The only person who seems to be growing regardless is Suisei but she is very strategic on how she goes about collabing with men. There's also someone like Towa who has managed to grow an audience that doesn't care and is somewhat outside of the Hololive box.

Some context: people are abusing the tag system at Twitch. Big streamers especially do this, even when they don't need to. The entire point of the system is to help out Twitch's dogshit discoverability problems. Obviously, this annoys actual VTubers. Cue the 200IQ take from the genius above.

I don't disagree with his main argument. A tag won't make or break it for you. That said tags are there for a fucking reason, to separate/group things together. Don't be a cunt and put Vtuber tags when you are not a Vtuber. Also, him getting this mad over it makes me question his sanity.

that would be odd, since she seemed to be alright with some of the jokes, but i guess repetition can kill a joke

or maybe its the sideboob, besides Kroni im pretty sure shes one of the holos that shows the most titty now that choco got nerfed, but i may be wrong

I agree with most of what you said regarding the composition of who watches the girls. It's usually people that want to watch cute girls do cute things with other cute girls. I only watch Hololive and I must admit that even though I will be okay with more Holostar interactions, I will not actively watch them on their own channels. Regarding the girls you listed:
Towa for the most part has grabbed on to the same crowd that follows your regular FPS girl that collabs with dudes. Suisei has attracted a lot of people that would tune in for her music and karaoke. Not just her being cute. Music collabs in general are just usually fine. Sora and Gorilla even had a cover together way way back. Azki was playing with Gatchman a month back. Basically, every time the Holo girl is more known for something else other than being cute while gaming etc., you won't really see a lot of friction because the audience they attract is more varied.

That being said, I do think growth for a Holostar while collabing with a Holo is possible. They just have to collab with the right person. Much like how Astel garnered new viewers because of Ollie. Partnering up with a Holo girl that has a mainly large male audience of usually 95% whose content is "being cute while gamin" will probably be a dumb move to do. I would listen to a cover or OG song collab on the dude's channel for example if it was good. Anyways, if they collab because they are friends and just wants to hang out, there's no problem with that like Fubuki and Oga. Just don't expect any growth or transfer of viewership.
