According to Cirroc, Brooks has been blacklisted from Hollywood for some reason.Damn it feels good to be a DS9 fan, Avery Brooks is far too insane to agree to these shitshows so Sisko's never gonna be ruined like this.

he's got the jazz in himWhat's up with Avery Brooks?
this talk about minisseries, do we know of previous versions of the movie or even material that could be expanded and reworked even if it is on another media?
a sort of prequel rebuild adding and changing stuff
Making her role in “Your Highness” look dignified.Kinda not SW related, but seeing Whor’s trailer and photos makes me think Natalie Portman is going to get wasted in another big franchise again. Though I don’t know if being regulated to concerned baby mama waiting to get choked can be topped by whatever nonsense Whor will throw at us.

At least in the prequels she looked physically fit and relaxed.
while thats all good, 2 of those 3 things you could just move, instead of a coliseum its a death race in AOTC, same with the double bladed fight. Of the stuff that is part of the overall story, you could just put it in dialogue "my master's ship broke down on his desert planet; he found the boy and despite greater judgment decided to train the boy himself. his belief in trusting his own instincts vs the councils is probably what cost him his life in the end" there is very little in its runtime that carried over enough for it to be included. you can't really say that about the other films in the first 6.TPM is certainly the oddball of the lot, and you could argue either way whether you should include it or not. Personally, despite a lot of things changing between 1 and 2, I do think it's a good idea to include TPM anyway. The things it sets up, like Obi-Wan not being all that receptive to training Anakin or Palpatine's first moves towards consolidating power, are important to the overall story. They might not have been conveyed in the most effective way, but it's still worth seeing. And if you're showing it to a kid, they'll get a kick out of the podracing, the lightsaber fights, and Jar Jar.
Regardless of variances in opinion, at least we can all agree that there are no movies beyond 6.
like i said, TPM screams "the adventures of young Indiana Jones:space edition" its not part of the trilogy, but does its best to act as prequels to it. each of the episodes gives you a chunk of background and references a part of the trilogy.I don't think I fully came to appreciate the function of TPM until after I saw the issues of the sequels. It's a shame George was locked into a trilogy because in an ideal world it should have been 4 prequels. TPM setting the background. Then three films of the main story.
Although saying that, the sequels created this problem for themselves. There's no way they actually needed a prequel because we had plenty of backdrop. They just decided to explain nothing.
The political side for me it is the most interesting part of EP 1, so it would be quite alright to see it expanded.Yes. Another poster did a good job of explaining the background to TPM, but short summary from memory: There is the whole build up to Kenobi and Jinn being dispatched - the various merchant establishments being expected to combat piracy, and in exchange getting to dictate the market in the outer rim. The blockade on Naboo was an outgrowth of that. You just see "the taxation of trade routes is in dispute" without knowing how that matters or why the Trade Federation views blockading and invading Naboo as a viable way of resolving the dispute in their favor.
So you could have a whole episode that is just setting the stage, introducing the players, and building up to the diplomatic cruiser docking.
Then you could have naturally the whole invasion & jedi escape be its own episode, giving us time to care about the people of Naboo and the child queen, and see how worthless the senate is.
This leads to the escape and trip to Tattoonie, where we get to actually see more than just a single pod race, and how Anakin is mistreated. The big pod race could almost be its own episode, and include some cat-and-mouse with Maul.
This leads to a Coruscant where we get to see more of the Senate's ineffectness, and insight into the Jedi.
Finally, the liberation of Naboo.
There is just too much going on to cover in a two hour movie, and when you try to just introduce these points and characters and say "Ok, you should care about this" and move on it just makes everything feel dull because you're not invested in anything because you don't understand it.
Lets assume it is real. is there any chance Disney took over and work on it, or it is contract binding to nout touch in those materials too?
Yes. ... You do realize 10-year-olds sitting in theaters in 1999 didn't give two shits about these types of gripes, right?while thats all good, 2 of those 3 things you could just move, instead of a coliseum its a death race in AOTC, same with the double bladed fight. Again, think of all the criticisms people had of Solo, instead of all the neat bits from the OT being part of a long history of adventures yet untold, they all happened in the same short span, and thats a great descriptor of TPM. If it came out in 2019 instead of 1998 we'd all whine about it.
the rescue of Padme, collecting up Anakin, the podrace, the installation of palpatine, Qui-Gon's death, and the rise of R2-D2 and C3PO all could have been different stories to be told for another day. imagine if we got something like AOTC but with a first act similar to the battle of Corresant from ROTS. that first act introduces us to A. the relationship between anakin and obi-wan, B. the war itself, C. their personalities. perhaps them saving X leads to them being assigned to Padme, and much like Marion and Indy, we learn about Anakin and Padme's first time meeting instead of seeing the creepy encounter. "i remember you back when you were still trained by Qui-Gon" "some could say he rescued both of us that adventure" Then the rest of the film could have played out, maybe this time all 3 are together, or Obi-wan shrugs at Anakin's loss while Padme comforts him and it is what causes them to separate with Obi investigating kamino and Anakin venturing toward genosis for some other reason (tracking down Fett?)
I mean they even say about the podrace no human could do it, but a force user would have the reflexes to, Anakin being inspired by Qui-gon to go it alone and against the council, being captured and people disbelieving he's a jedi, only to win the death race and accidentally providing enough of a distraction for Obi and the clones to save the day would really set things in motion.

honestly if Lucas had planned better, an "adventures of young Obi-Wan" in the same vein before the clone wars would have given us the same stuff we saw in TPM only better received. For fucks sake especially in the 90s when we had a half dozen space tv shows in syndication riding star trek's coat tails, from the journal of whillis comes a tv show that's better than DS9, babylon 5, farscape, and Lex all in one. especially when it takes 4 years to make a film, have a tv show to sate people's thirst for star wars media; plus it would train directors so you'd have a stable to pick from to hand the films over to.
If her acting is anything to go by Portman gave less of a fuck about Thor than she did any of the prequels. It's like she was barely trying in those movies. Part of me wonders if she's only in this one because of the paycheck. I'm surprised Kathleen hasn't convinced her to come back for Soy Wars as a force ghost or something even if it doesn't make any sense for Padme to be able to do that.seeing Whor’s trailer and photos makes me think Natalie Portman is going to get wasted in another big franchise again

You know, the target demographic?
If she did, it’d be something Islamic or horrifying to shit on Luke and Anakin more.I'm surprised Kathleen hasn't convinced her to come back for Soy Wars as a force ghost or something even if it doesn't make any sense for Padme to be able to do that.
Wonder if it was the size of the check or just it being her fellow tribesmen is why she came back for this. There are still many, MANY more stories from the comics (even mythology) to use with the real Thor, but they are using the new shit no one likes to push the (((agenda))). The copes from normies and the Fan-dumb Man-ass will be great lol.Kinda not SW related, but seeing Whor’s trailer and photos makes me think Natalie Portman is going to get wasted in another big franchise again. Remember when the Knights of Ren actually seemed like they were going to be worth a shit when the TFA trailer came out?I really hate how Disney Star Wars is not using the Galaxy of Adventure’s art style for bigger productions. Seriously, I would honestly love it if Disney went all out and remade the films in this style, it looks so good.
Even watching the nu-Trilogy content, the art style really makes scenes from those films more bearable. Hell, the content not in the films that they animated made Kylo way more of a badass than the films ever allowed their main antagonist to be.
Sorry, saw these pop up in my feed recently and am honestly impressed by the quality. It is crazy how Disney, an animation studio, does so little with their known medium when it comes to Star Wars, as when they do, they seem really talented at it.
To do that, George needed a writer that can help him flesh out his ideas and plot lines and write human dialogue, and a director who isn’t socially awkward. Then, he could handle the story and visuals without any trouble. The TPM should have been a long-form 'older audiences' mini-series for the older fans who cared about the build up. Then you start off with Clone Wars shit which would be what kids want.
Kylo never even got to go against regular soldiers, which is why I feel the animation is an improvement. At least here I can get more of a Vader vibe in the idea that this dude is scary as fuck to the average trooper. In TFA, what does Kylo actually do? In all movies he spends most of his time dicking around in the not Death Star and having temper tantrums that affect his own troops more than the people he is trying to kill. The thing is I don't think Kylo is any more impressive in this cartoon than he is in the actual movies, he's still a little bitch. Do you realize how easy it must be as a trained lightsaber user to kill regular soldiers with blasters than, say, another lightsaber user like Rey? He never beats Rey once in the trilogy. Hell Crylo couldn't even fight Snoke's guards without MaRey Sue there to help him from getting killed.
Genndy made cool action action scenes, but a lot of his designs felt off to me. I think the 3D Clone Wars had much better character design, especially for characters like Grevious who seemed to fluctuate and look off to me in one scene then really cool the next.I was never too into these cartoons because they're still such an obvious step down from Genndy Wars, on top of how they portrayed the characters. I guess Disney hasn't made an animated Disney Wars movie becauseit'd be complete shitthey want to keep the main animation studio separate from Kennedyfilm.
