Sony hate thread

Introducing your new console's game cases with a capeshit movie license starring a diversity quota? That ain't good. Not to mention the very blasé banner just being the same as the PS4's (and late PS3's), only this time it's white, and the plastic case itself is just a reused PS4 case.

Nothing at all about the PS5 feels like a whole new console. What a piece of garbage.
I wish the industry would move away from those big plastic boxes. They're always quasi-empty, there's only the disc and a flyer about copyright crap. I would have liked something smaller, like those thin plastic CD cases (crystal?) that you get when you buy an OST from Japan.

Are you talking about jewel cases?

Why the hell would you want those? They crack if you drop them just once, and the little tabs on the front piece that attach to the spine break off really easily. DVD cases were a godsend.

And if you think Blu-ray cases are too big, you must be too young to remember longboxes:

You can make that argument with any game that has a similar goal with GOW 2018. I can see why you would compare OOTs map with gows because I guess the map is similar but the level design is not. Not at all, far from it. And as far as side quests go, I can say BOTW is the only Zelda game I can think of that's similar to gow. BOTW did it better imo. And I never played Skyward sword so I'm not gonna argue with you on that. However I've played Dark souls 1,2 and 3 and Bloodborne but I don't think gows combat is similar to dark souls. R1 to attack and O to roll. C'mon dude, even Ghost of Tsushima had that same combat style. Does that mean Sucker punch was inspired by From Software? And lastly. You gotta be high on drugs to think Zelda failed on its combat calling it "mindless slashing". Zelda practically set the standard for 3D action platformers since the late 90s. They only gotten better with botw. Of course thats just my opinion.

And finally, this is third time I'm asking, what's your PSN gametag? If you aren't gonna say it or at least lie about one. Then I'm just gonna assume that Banana Split is right. And that you don't actually play video games.
It took it for inspiration so it's not a 1:1 copy of the soulsborne combat. It's mostly based around the sword and shield aspect and doesn't really dip into the whole magic aspect like a full souls game would have or having a shitload of builds. The ranged attacks are based around the axe throw and while there is no true weight rolling it does have ways to avoid or deflect attacks.

Even Rich Evans brings up the similarities to it back when they reviewed Real Media™ and not Fake Shit For Nerds®

Zelda combat pretty much since the 2D games was just mashing the sword button for combat abilities, this extended to OOT and MM and that's why Nintendo tried to change it up to make normal encounters with enemies more memorable. The stealth aspect they tried to force into windwaker was pretty bad.

Also I tend to go by the name Ladiesman217 or at least that's what I tell people in the 18 site wide PM chain groups I belong to.

There's multiple types of the PSN longboxes, some are pure cardboard, others are plastic.

It should be noted though that the glue used for some is bad which means the entire label eventually just falls off. Also another fun fact the front spine graphic for PS1 jewel cases was based on the ridges that the plastic cases had. There's also some longboxes that mirror what the Sega Saturn had and are also equally fragile.

You should probably move it out of the way, I'd hate to destroy such a nice Xbox with my heavy-ass metal DDR pad I'll use as a battering ram
Careful buddy I've modified this for use for modern LCD and LED screens. The exact same kind you're sitting behind.

Japanese Gamecube packaging was nice as hell with a mini big box feel that was not as gay as the mini big boxes on PC.

I heard a lot of people lost their paperboard shells and the plastic often yellowed.
As far as PS5 game cases go I understand it would be too easy to mix up PS4/5 if they were both blue, but PS kind of made blue their thing and they could have at least put the font in blue or something.

I think DVD size cases are the best size since they look the best on a shelf and are sturdy enough. Next best would be 3/DS cases for cartridges. As I said long ago upthread, the Vita's (and Switch's) game cases were too thin width-wise and don't look right on a shelf unless the shelf is only them. Back in the day I tried to use a hand-me-down shelf with bars (not planks) as shelves and the Vita games fell through the gaps.

Also just like every cardboard packaging ever, unless you were buying from an anal retentive collector, JP gamecube cases would always have their edges scuffed to hell. The big win with those was the compact size.

For one, they take less space than dvd cases. It's not like physical manuals are ever coming back. And moreso, they don't have to be classic jewel cases, they could be like those things they used in Europe

these were even more fragile than jewel cases, you didnt even have to drop them, they just shattered to bits from normal use and taking the disc in and out a few times would break the little hooks that held it

when I went to bed last night my Vita was at 41% battery life, so I giggled and turned it off and when i awoke today the battery was completely flat and that was even funnier
The battery in mine is far passed fucked. I'm scared I'll fuck something up if I try to replace it myself. Mulling taking it to one of those phone repair places.

I had to open mine up because the rear touchpad quit working, and it turned out you can just unplug it/replug it to fix it. The Vita is actually very easy to dismantle, no screws hidden under stickers or anything, and no weird tricks necessary to not break the thing. You just have to be careful about a couple of ribbon cables connecting the back of the case to the rest. https://www.ifixit.com/Device/PlayStation_Vita

It's very well engineered, which just further fuels my hatred for Sony and their retarded marketing department squandering what could have been the best handheld ever made.

Speaking of battery life, the ps4 controller is the worst controller I've ever owned as far as battery life goes. Big ups to the retards who also gave us no option to turn off the useless light to conserve power, further compounding the issue. Can the retards working for Soyny do anything right anymore, or did they leave their competence in 2004?
