Well, she did at one point own a home. And failed to pay property taxes on said home. Then lost that same home to bankruptcy court.

That was almost 8-9 years ago now, so that's nearly off her credit report. But if she gets an eviction on her record as well as a bankruptcy, even if they both had proof of paying jobs they'd have trouble renting.

Now factor in that neither are gainfully employed and about to be evicted for a charity apartment. Even IF Luna could convince Evil Abusive Dad to co-sign on a place, they have no chance. And they know this.

They'll turn up on her mother's doorstep again in two weeks' time.

If it’s not there to show up in the piss test it’s not there.

I think she's full of shit tbh, and they're both still using together, probably daily. Maybe they cut back & just have chippies, like a bag or two a day, but, as was proven w the pics from the other farms, she has tracks much newer than a year old.
Also, there Is such a thing as a false positive, but usually it's lab-error, like because they mixed up people's samples. Most methadone clinics or suboxone doctors will hang on to the sample until the client is notified they failed, so they can re-test the sample (double-checking the label, etc) if the patient contests it (most of the time they dont, they just accept they've been caught and take the consequences)- but very, very rarely does the second test have a different result. For context (and AIA for the PL) I know someone who works in this field and they once told me that in 3 years they'd only seen the second test come back differently/negative one time (despite many more than that contesting, obviously.)

there can be false positives. It depends on the type of drug test. But it isn’t really false, it more like an interference of another substance. Ecstasy, especially has a long list of things that can trigger a positive on a drug test. Also certain drugs for Alzheimer’s will show positive for that test. Eating poppy seeds can make an opiate test positive etc.

These are great responses, honestly... Too bad they're falling upon deaf ears in Luna's case.
I also am now inclined to agree the rape thing doesn't make sense. At first I was like "Why would she lie/what would she gain from that?". But the "random homeless rapist" pressing a $20 into her hand changes my opinion more than anything- I didn't know that part, and that's weird af. Ofc its possible, but it makes the Least sense, and reminds me of how a lot of quick tricks go down (in the stairwell of apt complexes, in the laundry room, really anywhere semi-private.) I didn't want to think she's sunk that low, but at this point Ockams Razor suggests that Luna set up a cheap date to make a quick 20, dude arrives, pays, they start, and whoops, neighbor walks in. Dude books, and Luna, panicked bc she doesn't want the neighbors to knows she's hooking, & esp not that she's bringing random johns into common areas of the building, acts traumatized. Maybe she even realizes in the interim that she may have been caught on the security cam- even if she knew it was there ahead of time she still may not have cared, bc many places don't ever review footage unless there's a problem, and security cam footage usuallly automatically gets deleted after a set amt of time, so maybe she thought it was safe... but then when shit went bad maybe she thought neighbor would report it and they'd check the cam... which is even more motivation to get out in front of it/do damage control & cry rape. Does this mean methadone clinics don't 'melt' the methadone anymore? Back in the day ( 90s-00s) opioid addicts on methadone therapy would go to the methadone clinic to get their daily dose of doctor prescribed methadone 'melted' in water. Then they would do the pour water in the cup-swish-swallow ritual like 6 times after they consumed their initial dose because they wanted every last possible granule of methadone. Randomized drug tests were done to keep the clients honest. Do they actually give them a 30 day script now?
BTW back in the day I worked with a woman that had Crohn's disease. She was on methadone because of the pain and digestive issues of Crohn's disease. She sold off her 'excess' medication to opioid addicts on methadone therapy and only kept what she felt she really needed to get by in life. It helped pay her bills, so she could live independently from her family while working her 9 to 5 job.
