If Chris was able to get the house + the inheritance, I doubt he'd keep it maintained/stick to a budget. Chris was never given proper responsibility because he's never shown effort.
Chris wouldn't even get the house since it got refinanced in a second mortgage or something. The moment Barb would have died, the bank could have come calling for the money Chris doesn't have (given his history of non payments on bills) and immediately forced him out of the house after his 'grace' period to fetch his belongings got run out and Chris naturally would have tried stalling for time.

As it stands, on what little information we have I'm pretty sure that Barb's relatives have packed her up somewhere away from 14BC so it isn't a pain in the ass to go there constantly for her sake, and its likely the majority if not entirety of the hoard is long gone, taken away by those junk collection companies. The house is being extensively cleaned and possibly repaired (we've seen how much damage the Chandlers can do to a house in perfect condition in only a few months after all) and ultimately will be surrendered to the bank if they haven't already taken ownership given Barb is all but an invalid at this point and Chris is in the nuthouse. Anything Chris could have stood to inherit is gone.

I understand that. I was trying to present an alternate timeline where Bob had the house paid off and money ready for Chris. This was before the Snyder hit and run, Barb's spending of said money and getting the mortgage on the house. Even if Chris had the house and the money, How long could he live off of it? Would he take action in finally getting rid of the hoard. All signs point to probably not. Either Barb or Chris would find one way of ruining it for themselves or separately.

Woken up by 8am, given morning meds, breakfast, an hour of group therapy, sit around doing nothing until lunch, afternoon meds, potentially an hour of outdoor time in a secure yard, potentially some one-on-one time with the doctor, sit around doing nothing most of the rest of the day, dinner, evening meds, sit around some more until bedtime. There may be a common room with a small TV tuned to talk shows or news along with some cards and boardgames, but only if he's being cooperative and following doctors directions. He can nap the day away if he wants, as long as he's not causing trouble and going to his diagnostic meetings with the doctor. It's really fucking boring in mental facilities. He won't be allowed to have his phone or iPod since the charging and headphone cables could potentially be used by himself or another patient to asphyxiate themselves. Just a whole lot of fuck and all to do.
Can you imagine the damage being done to his fellow lunatics forced to sit through Group Therapy with him?

Either way, his environment needs to be entirely controlled for him to function relatively normally. Chris not under constant supervision by a real adult is gonna just spiral into another situation.

If you lock anyone up and feed them meds long enough, they’ll start to act the way you want them too but that all unravels the second he’s back on the street. I’m less worried about his little stint in the nut house and more interested what the long game is gonna be here. Since he’s gonna be under supervision from the state, I doubt any ween that takes him in would want state officials coming over every other day.

Ward of the state is gonna be the only option unless there’s a drastic improvement on Chris part and they find a viable living arrangement with someone competent and trained to handle people like him. He’ll never fully reason just how much he fucked his life up. His life was shit, but he had the freedom to do his internet shit, go to cons, and drive around hassle free. The state is fully aware of him now and will be keeping a close eye post release.
This is why I still predict that Chris's ultimate fate will be wandering the street homeless pushing his little "Sonichu Shopping Cart" filled with crusty transformers that have been up his ass and Pokecrap. Periodically returning to the site where 14 BC once stood like Michael Myers. I wish it was otherwise. But in Modern America "Ward's of the State" like Chris frequently don't last in group homes. They get given a Medicaid Card and a Social Worker and are left to otherwise preach the gospel of the Holy Sonichu Cult on street corners. He needs full time supervision. The only place that would offer him such long term is prison. Which once he gets kicked loose to wander the streets, he will invariably keep returning to due to his complete and utter lack of normalized social skills and his tard rage.

I hate to be a downer but Christory will not have a Happy Ending. Because the system does not work the way a lot of you all seem to think it does. Chris is one of those creatures that is guaranteed to fall or fail through what little safety nets there are. And what few compassionate resources are out there will largely be closed to him Because HE FUCKED HIS FUCKING ELDERLY MOTHER.

I think everyone knows that Chris's story wouldn't have a happy ending, now it's just a matter of what shade of depressing it is when he finally passes the iron curtain.

Hopefully he knows enough (optimism) to not go around pissing off other patients, because they can be really nasty fucks. Jail isn't the only place he can get his shit smacked up by other inmates/patients, and psych nurses don't get paid enough to try and break that shit up themselves.

Ah, fair enough.

Honestly I'm not so sure he's ever getting out of the nuthouse at this point - it all depends on how hard he's submerging himself into the escapist fantasy that he's some all powerful cartoon video console Jesus. I personally thought he never was ever going to end up there originally since it's easy enough to tell that on some level, he knows this is all a lie and simply prefers playing pretend like a child over facing reality. The only information we have about his mental state is the last Spamton letter where he seemed convinced he was going to be let free and he was DESPERATE to return home, but that was before the hearing.

For all we know, the fact he wasn't and instead was ordered to the nuthouse for months, being denied what little he could even look forward to as well as reuniting with his mother, and the soul-crushing environment that is a mental ward...he may have simply fully snapped entirely and could spend the rest of his life in the proverbial straightjacket.

The problem as has been said, is he is probably in there to get him competent enough for trial. Which is a much lower bar to get him in there than an actual civil commitment. But once the clock runs out on prosecuting him, and he’s still Chris, he’s going to get kicked to the curb. With nowhere to go. Until he gets found jerking off in a movie theater to Sonic 3. Then the jail->nut hut-> bridge troll cycle will be put on repeat until a Hobo stabs him for his shoes.

Agreed. I highly doubt Chris will ever be given his SSI and be able to live freely on his own again. Those safety nets are gone once you get in serious legal trouble like this.

Mental hospitals and psych wards in the US aren't designed to keep people there for long, or will bounce them around various places in the area as long as they can. That's for people who obviously can't function and are a lot more mentally fucked up than Chris is.

He'll end up either in jail the rest of his life for something in the future or a homeless bum where he won't last long. The fun of following Chris is near certainly over.

That's assuming they can get him competent enough for trial. Chris is nothing if not proficient at managing to disappoint even the lowest of expectations of being a functional human being.

Even if they can’t get him competent for trial, at some time it will become moot. And they will have to subject him to a civil committal hearing. Which will have a higher standard of lunacy. Chris is functional enough that he will almost certainly be kicked loose with the expectation of out patient mental health management. At which point the Michael MyersChu saga begins.

Amazing how Chris could have avoided all this had he not done something literally even his own critics believed he could do, which was not go back into the thing that brought him into this world.

the "Idea Guys" may have done a number on his sanity that even professional therapists can't undo.
i don't think the problem is what they told chris. i think the root problem is they taught chris that he can demand LARP as fair compensation for his attention.
wasn't just the idea guys either; everyfag after was guilty of reinforcing this idea in chris. you want chris in your discord to show everyone your power over him you hafta let him evangelicize and say "amen" and ...you don't need me to play it out.
that's the damage that has to be undone before anything else can change.

I wonder what actually happened then. Probably just Chris gesturing wildly, sputtering and farting in frustration.

It's incidents like this that I always think of with when people say that Chris has only got delusional like this in the last few years, he's always thought that his cartoon / toontown stuff is real in some respect, hell he said to Alec that he was nieve for not thinking that cartoon characters have there own emotions, thoughts and feelings.

What they did was just make him more open to talking about it and added some new concepts and ideas scattered around like the CPU goddess crap.

He’s always thought it was possible. Iirc we only have Chris’s word that he “talked to Sonichu” while talking to MLW. A tard screech is enough to get him escorted out by security, no literal delusion necessary.

But yes, he has had this kind of make believe going on since at least college. It’s been a steady thing.

Chris is the neighborhood retarded kid. You may not like him or trust him. But you don’t generally view him with hatred. Even if you breathe a sigh of relief when he finally gets taken away somewhere. On some level you recognize him as a disabled retard.
I forget who but someone claimed that his neighbors didn't hate Barb or Bob, but Chris was the real problem. He has mentioned the neighbor kids will egg his house on Halloween and I can't believe that would be the extent of the locals fucking with him. Even just walking into Sheetz and someone making some sarcastic comment might not even register with Chris, hell I doubt Chris would even notice a bunch of people staring at him and whispering. Seems like he only remembers interactions when he's getting in trouble or directly told stuff.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Is Chris so stubborn and into his make believe world that he'll actually put effort into defending it? Could be. Then again, since Chris a creature of his environment, it could be that his entire life, now, is to fight against "the system". He may have temporarily completely forgotten about the real world in exchange for him battling a big evil government system that's trying to convert him into normal thinking. Even something like just getting him to understand his current situation with the charges might trigger an all or nothing response for Chris.

Fucking with the TV and constantly putting on autistic shit will probably piss off the other patients. He'd end up bitch slapped and told to knock that shit off, at best.

She sent him for a assessment after that episode but it was directly focused on his ability to return to Collage not his larger mental health, so I'd argue that he did something involving Sonichu at the meeting even if it didn't go down exactly like he says this was one of the first serious occasions that Bob and Barb couldnt sit in on and coach him / hold his hands through to keep him in check like they did in the past - that's why I'm guessing it didnt happen sooner, every time since he's gotten in trouble he's always chimped out or acted nutty in some way where Barb and Bob couldnt reign him in.

I've not heard anything about it but it wouldnt shock me, Bob and Barb seemed more quiet than Chris in there interactions with the neighbours but Chris was loud, brought unwanted visitors to the area and looked a mess even before the Tom-Girl saga. He also had a reputation locally as a oddball that was known online.

I'd not like Barb as a neighbour seeing how she maintains the house and the animals, but I'd really hate having chris as one.
