You just go to the Chilean embassy and register your child there when at least one parent or grandparent is Chilean. When he was born, the law only required something related to the time living in the country.Everyone knows he is a US anchor baby, but he’s still Chilean. Now it’s tricky to know when exactly he obtained Chilean citizenship because of law changes and I’m fairly certain dual citizenship wasn’t generally allowed until recently, but Gonzalo is a con man and supposedly knows “people in high places” so we can never be sure of anything.
A Latino registering their kid in the embassy of their country "just in case" is very common, in case you ask.
