I can't stress that plainly enough. The people writing for STD and STP are terrible hacks. They do not understand Star Trek even on the most superficial level and they sure as hell do not understand why people loved Star Trek.

I honestly don't even believe that the frauds writing for STP have ever even bothered to watch TNG. They probably asked Stewart who/what Picard was and they got the brain addled rantings of a 80 year old proggie whose brain went mushy 5 years ago.

I know I shouldn't get mad, I haven't even watched more then a handful of STP and STD but seriously as a life long Trekkie this shit is starting to piss me off. It's like that want to ruin everything Star Trek stands for but they can't even come up with something lame to replace it just tear down everything and replace it with nothing.

Fuck Tilly (or not, don't fuck Tully, ew), Gates McFadden is such a classical beauty.

I like that she was a well made female character, a capable doctor with layers and a personality, but she was a lovely too. Current Trek women could never.

  • show starts off with a kid running from Vulcans.
  • the interrogation (he calls it an interview) begins with the federal agent that captured Picard and Guinan. First question is asks is, “Are you an extra terrestrial life-form?”
  • guinan laughs at the question and Picard says that he is not.
  • agent starts writing stuff down so guinan asks what he is writing. Agent says he is writing down her species has humor so he’s logging it.
  • Picard says this is absurd and that they have cooperated and would like to leave.
  • agent wont let them go until he figures out why they’re trying to sabotage the Europa mission.
  • guinan calls out the agent because they’re in a dirty basement full of filling cabinets and the camera isn’t even plugged in. Agent says thats where in the FBI field office people disappear. Especially aliens.
  • Rafi and Seven are tracking Jurati and made it to the dive bar. They’re communicating with Rios and he says he’s on his way to help. Rafi tells him to stay on La Serena. Rafi also tells Rios to check the systems and make sure she didn’t “borgify” anything else.
  • Rafi asks Seven to borg up to find Jurati. Seven gets annoyed with her and says she can’t track her because she’s not a member of the collective. Rafi asks her to go analog. Asks her where she would go and what would she do?
  • seven talks to the bar owner and asks where she went. He asks if they’re cops because he doesn’t like how they treat mentally I’ll people. Seven says she’s her sister and they’re trying to get her into a facility. Jurati left the bar with a guy.
  • back in the interrogation room. Guinan is probing agent wells asking him why he’s interrogating them. Says she’s a bartender so she’s seen his type before. It feels personal. Agent wells stays he’s a civil servant and leaves.
  • Picard says if they think they’re trying to stop the Europa mission the government will stop the launch.
  • Kore is watching Soongs old diary videos. She puts on an some kind of glasses and goes Batman detective mode on the lab. Q has implanted himself into the glasses and says that Soong created Kore and locked her away. Q is sending the key. He sends her more serum.
  • Seven and Rafi find the guy Jurati left with dead in the street. She killed the guy because she wanted more than a one on one interaction. Rafi is impressed with Seven, but seven tears rafi down calling her a manipulator. They find dead guys phone and Seven asks what powers it. Rafi says lithium powers it. Seven says the borg inject lithium into bodies before full assimilation.
  • they hear a noise and investigate. Jurati is eating parts out of motor engines from cars. Big fight happens and Jurati walks away after almost killing Rafi.
  • back in the interrogation room agent wells comes in and says Picard went to a clinic not a hospital because of the IV bruise on his hand. He then makes Picard read Rios statement when he was arrested by ICE. Agent wells had the doctor ladies clinic searched and found a combadge.
  • we’re back on the ship and the kid is pressing random buttons. Rios tells the doctor that he can’t hurt the ship because it’s in diagnostic mode looking for borg subroutines.
  • Rios takes them to a replicator for food.
  • Rios asks doctor what her life is like. She says it’s chaotic with work and watching him.
  • doctor lady flirts with Rios. Kisses him.
  • back into the interrogation room Wells is yelling at Picard asking him what his intentions are with the Europa mission.
  • wells threatens violence if Picard doesn’t talk.
  • Q is at the interrogation facility and talks to Guinan. Guinan says Q is dying. He isn’t immortal like he believed. He wants meaning in life, a purpose. That’s why he’s doing this to Picard.
  • back at Soong estate, Dr. Soong and Kore talk about his experiments. Says she should have died before 6 with all the defects she had. Soong goes full god complex and tells Kore she exists because he willed it. He says he loves his work but he also loves her.
  • Kore walks outside and shows Soong she took more antidote. He says without him she doesn’t exist. She says without her he doesn’t exist.
  • back with Seven and Rafi, seven says that mercy isn’t a borg quality and Jurati is still in there after she let Rafi live. Rafi agrees with Seven that she’s a piece of shit.
  • flash back to elnor talking to Rafi. Rafi is trying to teach him basic deflector shield maintenance. Elnor got an opportunity to go back to Vashti to help out. Rafi talked him out of it because “he was supposed to follow in her footsteps.” (She’s such a bitch)
  • Rafi blames herself for Elnors death. They look through the phones search history to see where she was going next.
  • dr. Soong is drinking on the stairs of his lab. Jurati shows up and asks him if she needs to tell him resistance is futile.
  • back at the interrogation room wells asks Picard why he was at the gala. Lights are flickering on and off, guinan shows up and says all humans are stuck in the past. Picard asks Wells what happened in his past. What is Picard to wells. Wells calls Picard the monster in the dark.
  • flashback to the kids looking for something or someone. Hears some noises and finds Vulcans doing research. Vulcans mind melded with the child.
  • Agent wells said they were trying to pull his eyeball out. Picard asks what they did with their hands. Picard shows him correctly and tells wells the truth why they are there. He asks wells for his help.
  • Back on the ship Rios is trying to fix the transporter. He tells Rafi that they have big problems.
  • guinan tells Picard What Q is doing and she realizes she humans again.
  • wells never logged the stuff because he wanted to be the one to prove it. He also got fired. Guinan tells wells everything happens for a reason.
-GUINAN TELLS PICARD SHE CANT WAIT TO MEET HIM.

  • Jurati is on Soongs computer looking for satellites. She tells Soong that Renee’s discovery will render his work obsolete if she goes on the mission. Soong save the earth from ecological disaster if she doesn’t go.
  • the gang gets back together and Rafi yells at Picard. They realize the queen is after their ship and wants a 400 year head start on assimilating the galaxy.
  • Soong is helping Jurati and hires mercenaries. She assimilates one and that’s where the episode gets off.

I suspect this may be a way to get rid of the Q for Discovery season 3.

This is a stupid way to go. The Last street fighter movie was Raul Juila's last film. He knew he was dieing well filming but wanted to do the movie for his kids since they were fans of the video game.

He gave a fun performance and had his family help him understand the character in an otherwise bad movie.

So no excuses for Stewart in my opinion

The interrogation scene was so badly written. You had Guinan looking like she was taking a big dump and she appears as a Force Ghost in the room where Jay-El and the cop are, and she basically got access to the script and Picard ask the guy about his story and then it's just full exposition dump like in a video game.
There are only 2 episodes left and I still don't know what this season is actually about.

I was sitting in a voicechat a while back with some randoms from the guild in the MMO I play and one unironically went the whole "fuck yeah STD and picard got new seasons, good fucking scifi..."
I died a little inside but I'm proud I was able to hide my powerlevel, because holy fucking shit, have some fucking standards.

what's wrong with it? didn't watch it since I read the comics and it can only be worse, but urban is usually solid in what he does.
