Star Wars Expanded Universe Fans/Cultists - I HOPE YOU LIKE STAR WARS AUTISM

Yeah she has a massive hate-on for the Jedi (A-grade autism there) and sperged all over her website and social media about how the Jedi were keeping the clones in slavery and were worse than the sith and tried to relate it to all this real world stuff.

Liquid autism.
Some guaranteed methods to piss off any Fandalorian:
-Name a Jedi (any Jedi) as your favorite character.
-Say that you like Han Solo.
-Mention that Mace Windu wasn't a bad Jedi.

If those don't work then they're not really a Fandalorian.

I just saw the Force Awakens a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it, so it sort of rekindled my (admittedly always dim) interest in Star Wars. I was on the Star Wars Wiki and noticed that tons of pages were split into two parts, "Canon" and "Legends." After doing a little digging I discovered that Disney had fucking nuked almost the entire Star Wars expanded universe like it was nothing. To them, it was nothing.

At the moment I read that, it was as if millions of nerdy voices suddenly cried out in pure autistic rage, and were suddenly silenced. I laughed pretty hard.

I don't think it was Lucas but the Lucas Licensing division of his company. All franchises have this issue: Star Trek, Dr Who, etc - it comes part and parcel with creating content for fans - it just happens that SW had it worse.

(However, I think the current idea by Disney is even worse: anything new made is canon, period. Which means some horrible fanboy who's a writer at Marvel Comics now has as much levity as any of the films. Like THAT is a good idea?)

This is what is hilarious about all the people who have been laughing at the EU fans. For all of their screaming that it was just "glorified fanfiction", it was never about making anything better, Disney just wants to push their own glorified fanfiction.

The House of Mouse will not be denied.

Well duh, how else will you strip more money from these tards? They already were stupid enough to buy tickets to the great Satan Force Awakens; they need the comics and books to sound superior about their shit taste and to bring them up to try and sound smart again.

No matter what Disney does, the zealots would never be pleased. Nuking the EU and then cherry picking from it was the sanest thing they could do for themselves.

To be fair even Uwe Boll would disregard the EU, if he bought out Star Wars.

That's how much of a mess the series was in before Disney.

If it doesn't spoil anything, had Lightsaber interior tech been retconned or is it still a combination of energy cores and crystals?

The games were great, though. I'm actually glad the EU is closed for their regard - I have a bad feeling about this after seeing the new Battlefront. We'll probably get no Rogue Squadrons, KOTORs, Jedi Knight or classic Battlefronts anymore, it's all DLC-plagued shitfest from now on, so it's good to enjoy the old games in their own realm.
Kyle Katarn's one of my favorite badasses too.

I think there's another KOTOR (single player, not MMO) in development but it's still a year away or so?

Also a big fan of the Dark Forces series. I think we can all agree that there are a few elements of EU that were really good but the other 90% was hilariously bad. A friend of mine some years ago tried to sell me on a book where there was a Star Destroyer buried under the city-planet (I forgot the name) and it was used as a prison and it took off and... Jesus, it was like some hyperactive autist was given a typewriter and a lifetime supply of Yoohoo.

Don't forget the Zahn Consortium stuff from Empire at War. Oh I dunno, lets just steal the Eclipse, the most powerful weapon that isn't the Death Star. No one will mind.

What does anyone think of the Yuuzhan Vong? For a bunch of EU villainous types, their whole existence clearly comes off like SW's attempt to rip off shit from Star Trek, if you ask me.

I like the idea in theory, the whole concept of an evil strong enough to unite the empire and new republic is great if handled well. But in reality the Yuuzhan Vong were a tool for a whole heap of torture porn by 3dgy authors..

That felt like fanfiction written by a fifteen year old Trenchcoat Mafia autist who had just seen Hellraiser for the first time. It was really dumb.

They have interesting designs and I like the organic technology concept, but they feel VERY out of place in the Star Wars universe. Not to mention that the Vong arc is one of the shittier parts of the EU according to the fanbase.

Especially how within the time of the Battle of Endor and the Yuuzhan Vong had like 5 intergalactic races invade them during that time? Like I actually think I'm lowballing there.

So we're clear - the Yuuzhan Vong really were a good concept, ruined by bad writing. I'd hate to see Disney ever try to bring back something so awful, to be brutally honest, unless someone CAN make this work and not come off like shitty fanfiction thought up on the fly to compete with old school Star Trek (and Star Trek is quite ass, in my personal opinion.), in terms of camp.

Sorry for any powerleveling this comment may contain.

I never really got that idea, and I don't know where it's from. If anything, a bunch of self-mutilating psychopaths who cause literally apocalyptic scale damage and is immune to the local setting's magic would seem more in place with Warhammer 40K.
