My theory is that Phil doesn't care. His desire to be respected as a gamer has waned over time. His goal now is to collect money, play through games as easy as possible, collect money, and fit it in his autistic schedule counting down the seconds until break when he can play Champions on the shitter.

Hades was a good example as he facetanked the entire time as well, and would babble constantly about his build that meant nothing. Hades is a type of game we know Phil hates, but there were two whales carrying it months. It's all time filler for money.

I mean it’s pretty clear what he cares about. He makes it clear every time he beg-tweets. But I think he still needs to win. He could play something like Elden Ring and stretch it out for a year if he played them blind as long as people still paid him. He had Papavera tipping him Minecraft instructions one at a time and building things for him but Phil gave up on it eventually because Minecraft has no win condition that Phil could point to having achieved after fucking 800 hours or whatever. It’s a game that fosters and rewards creativity and innovation which Phil does not have, so every sessions he played he made an ass of himself, and in a game goddamn everyone in the world has played, no less.

He wants money, but he needs the accomplishment of “I beat the game” (regardless of how he did it, how long it took him, how much he needed to cheat or research or how many times he died) so when people call him a shitty idiot who sucks he can point to “well I’ve beaten thousands of games *snort*” as if that’s the measure of a successful streamer. A pet of Phil wants to be MLG but he knows he can’t actually compete so he sets his own set of success conditions as uses those instead to protect his ego.

True, he mainly cares about money, hates gaming but don't underestimate how frail his ego is. He hates people and what they might think of him (no twitter replies or comments on youtube allowed). If he could get so much money without interacting and low effort, he would do it immediately. Shortly after he started stalling yesterday the chat derailed and he darted with his eyes between game and laptop. He also stopped using summons in ER very early on - imo if the devs give you a mechanic, you can use it. It's not to "challenge himself" but rather to save face.

I'm going to take this as an opportunity to say that Phil has no idea at all. In all these games, he has exactly two strategies: run away and facetank. In all these games he has exactly one move (mid stance, lightning spears, jump attacks etc.). To be honest, I can't really comprehend this. While he has a double digit IQ, he should be able to use more than the most repetitive moves, theoretically.

Phil is not just a bad gamer, he has no ability to become competent.

My theory (still) is that TIHYDPs broke his fucking mind (good job everyone). For me that's the only reason he would revert to one-dimensional and save playstyle. Nowadays checking out guides beforehand in order to not embarrass himself which fails cause he always looks like the most annoying clown. I mean, what the fuck are his utter noob "builds" he has in Elden Ring? One of his chairs must be trolling him. Dude runs two greatswords with 20 strength, 20 dex and 71 int (or something like that). OK, you can beat every souls game with a not upgraded dagger and on level 1... but why no spells? And why not keep int at 50 when you are just going melee? Every fucking souls game has soft and hard caps and he played them well over 10 times. The gin is strong with Phil. Look how fucking nervous he was fighting Malenia. He obviously knew what was coming and rambled random shit in between things he shouldn't have known.

The other thing is, he can't multitask and has no capability to see what's in front of him. He needs all his non-fried braincells to either watch his inputs or the enemy. But you can't overload his processors. Like I can't imagine him change stances (in Nioh) midattack to do devastating combos / reacting to a specific enemy with a specific special move. Too many button presses dood! His schedule and attacks are all pure autism and manic.

I guess he will come more prepared next time (Malenia) but man, there are so many good strats and actual builds known for weeks. I won't say them here but there is a particular one with which you can easily fuck up every enemy and boss that can be stunned - midrange, one early game weapon (for a fast kill), you won't need to think, only two buttons, GG. I could imagine even Phil being able to handle this task.

I've been doing a Str/Int build myself but I'm not dualwielding swords. I got the Darkmoon Greatsword in one hand and the ability to cast spells in the other. Ontop of that DMGS scales great off of int, but yeah he's not utilizing spells at all.

He used his supporters to avoid doing Project 7, used his supporters to avoid going on the Drunken Peasants podcast, consistently uses his supporters to determine the direction in which he takes his business, and uses his supporters to decide which games he'll play, and used his supporters to claim they wanted to see the Down the Rabbit Hole reaction. This is his most transparent way of putting the blame on someone else for basically anything he does, while he actually just does whatever he wants. Coincidentally, he didn't wanna do Project 7 after he got his Patreon goal hit, he didn't want to go on the DP podcast because it wouldn't benefit him, and happened to "listen" to his supporters about the reaction video gimmick years after they actually asked him to do it, and at a specific moment where his business was in the shitter.

Furthermore, he also uses "muh supporters" narrative to make himself look like a victim, claiming "you guys were harassing me to play this game", "you guys wanted to see this" etc, and most of the time this works as a setup for him begging for money - "you guys were harassing me to play this" + "I don't know why it's so slow today". The funnies thing is not only how obviously transparent this is, but it actually works and the wheelchairs are buying it...

To remind people, Phil rage quit Godrick then coped that it was unfair cause wind doesn't bend using a knife on his head to demonstrate that wind only moves in a straight line...ignoring that not only is Elden ring fantasy BUT in reality tornados, cyclones and wind current exist. Then claimed he one shot it on twitter bragging in a random tweet. Phil also had a lot of trouble with the easiest boss in Elden Ring, the boss the game literally gives you a weapon specifically to stun lock the boss. He'll unga bunga guide it eventually.

Can we talk about how Phil is retarded and can't use analogue sticks to control the camera, I've been notching this for years but he seemingly uses the camera controls in games as little as possible which ends up in him bitching about the game.

He can't take accountability in general. When he plays a game he blames the character for not doing an action "he wouldn't do x/y", he not me. He can't even take accountability for pressing buttons. Its the controllers fault if its not the character, and if its nether the game is badly programmed. Not that he is slow in the mind.

OH yea he absolutely will, he thinks the VOD watchers have been thinking of ways to support him for years, but just because there was no way of giving money on a VOD that couldn't happen. He genuinely expects those people to be an entirely new monetizable audience, just the same way he thought youtube and Twitch had a completely different viewer base in the past and had to make specific dedicated begging segments for the YouTube audience.

I honestly don't think Phil understands money at all. It's just something he's always had, and if it runs out, he gets bailed out.

I think he definitely sees it as video game money, where you can spend it because you can always grind out some more. And for the relevant part of his life, 2009 onward, it has been like that for him, and life has taught him that money does indeed work like that (it doesn't). So he was putting barely any effort in the grind and getting heavily rewarded. He was also taking out credit cards because it's free money that FuturePhil has to pay back.

He really does not comprehend money, hasn't worked hard enough to earn it and value it, and has been taught by life that money isn't that hard to get, so it's easy to spend and there's more coming in.

This has probably tossed around here on this forum but my theory on why he stalls in this game.
First, it to get to the boss at the last 40ish min of his stream so he doesn't have to stream himself failing at it for to long.
Second, it keeps the most viewers for him because people are waiting on that specific fight so even if people leave they'll comeback to see if he's done it.
Third, it gives him time after stream to "strategize" so when he comes back next stream he'll look like an alpha chad defeating easily.
Lastly, it compels his wheelchairs and trolls to atleast contribute to guide him (even though he's know's what he's doing).

And this is one of those things that makes people pick apart what he does and why he does it - because he's a little piece of shit who tries tiny ass mind games like this in the tiniest of situations. It's this kind of actions that reveal what kind of a person he is, how he runs his business and his approach to life. One of those things that seem too bizarre for there to be no intent behind it, and the more you look into them the more the intent appears, and the reason why he's doing it. The same as with the hidden Kirby tips.

I love that and hope that keeps going, I want him at his peak delusional when the supporters are dwindling and he has to take life in his own hands. Until then, I hope he gets more coddled, melted, delusional and narcissistic, so the payoff can be sweeter. We're at the point where the only accountability he can take in life is for things that happened over a decade ago, simply because he considers that to be a different person than he is today.

I watched some of DSP's fight against Malenia. He has so much health, I couldnt tank half of the hits he's tanking here... She has a grab attack which guaranteed one shot me, but it only takes about half his health.

He's jump attacking a lot.
