General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

trying to pretend you've never had a partner before (Elira)
I had a Elira clip pop-up on yt and thought about this msg again.
Is there anything doxx related about this "allegation"?. Because she consistently tells stories about being a antisocial outcast irl that watches anime with her mom, so with her being a average looking otaku asian girl plus a mommy's sweetheart the image of a sweet loser that managed to avoid romantic attentions for 25+ years seems fairly realistic

Probably Karen's big announcement.

In the off chance any of you are underage and thinking about college I will give you this nugget of wisdom for free. If you are going to get into upwards of $100,000 of debt for college, and you aren't going to get a job that will immediately have you easily making a six figure salary, then you deserve the debt for being a retard and not thinking through what you are getting out of your investment. One of my buddies went into considerable debt for his degree, but because he was going to be making fuckloads of money afterwards it didn't matter, and he was completely free of his college debt after only a few years. Another one of my buddies went to some prestigious school so he could get a fancy degree and pursue his passion (which did not require any sort of prestigious education), he also went into debt, but his job doesn't pay for shit. I told him he was wasting his money on it, and he's still in pain from that decision.
I'm 24, also this did absolutely nothing to address what I actually said. I'm well aware of the college debt that runs rampant in America. Its one of the biggest things America is criticized for and is made such a big deal that it's implied to be an "America only" problem. By all means disspell the myth. I don't need an explanation of what college debt is.

Set aside Mori Calliope for the sake of argument. Is it make sense that Demondice being invited to anime related events?
Yes it does. Not just
Japanese rap = japan = weebs
but she's had songs like Gang Gang Kawaii. Also her experience of moving to Japan gives her tons of stuff to talk about at panels full of weebs wishing to do the same.

I mean anime cons have had JP musicians as guests for a long time. The infamous sakuracon commercial advertised a performance of Girugamesh all the way back in 2009. Granted Girugamesh was pretty big in Japan at the time

Happy for her if this turns out to be true.

I wouldn't expect much from the collab itself given that they're both awkward in collabs, and Charlie's podcast is one of the worst I've ever seen (I watched the Smiling Friends episode) so his topic-carrying ability is kind of on the floor.

But holy shit the amount of red tape in corpo vtubing is just the worst. It shouldn't take two people 1.5 years to hang out on stream when both of them said they're down to collab anytime.
Seems like one of those "i really like your content but I know nothing about you and we probably dont even work well with each other" type of deals.

Sad to see her at it for nearly 2 years for 3k. It sucks that's the case but it's hardly surprising with how many Indies are out there. I'm no expert and I don't know her level of language but in general JP streamers like this one who are reaching outside Japan should find people who know EN or even learn some rudimentary English before engaging the overseas audience and try to get some exposure on the Virtual YouTuber subreddit. I can't believe I'm saying go to Reddit.
This is rough man. There are a ton of indies that are amazing and they just fall through the cracks when it comes to viewership. They don't know how to market themselves, in some cases, their models are dogshit, in other cases, they can't stream often due to having full-time work and other responsibilities. Seen a ton of Japanese indies that are extremely talented and im sure that if they knew only a little English they would probably appeal to a western audience and rise. Feels like getting that initial 10k subs and passing the 100 concurrent viewers is probably the hardest step in a Vtuber's career.

Shes a weeb i guess, and the worlds worst kept vtuber secret.

Enna is currently having a meltdown.

Edit: She's slowly choking to death as Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture blasts in the background. Another insta-classic moment from Enna.
Im loving every second of this. The soundtrack only enhances the chaotic experience.

So Karen will be there as DD while also having other holo EN representatives.
Wouldn't this be a problem? I mean, anyone with half a brain can tell they're the same person just by listening to her voice. But having say, Ina there with a guest with a suspiciously similar voice to Calli's in the same day would draw attention, at least!

I like to feel I can offer some kind of personal perspective on this as a semi-faggot myself.

I think that the same could be said for Yuri-baiting: if you think that men queerbaiting is a 'step away from V-Tubing' but view women doing the same as acceptable and endearing, then I don't think the actual act of queerbaiting is the root cause of your issue, but rather how you perceive the same pattern of behaviour when you aren't the target audience.

Even that bizarre farting girl justifies her existence by virtue of having simps launch money at her. People graduate all the time. People make it big. People appeal to niches and audiences I'll never understand. But I'm not stressed about it because if something isn't for me then it just doesn't exist.

I think people make too much of a deal of these things. A character is a character, not the actor or actress. Not everyone takes kayfabe that deep, but a stellar example was Andy Kaufman, a vegan, who played Tony Clifton, the steak loving lounge singer. Clifton and Kaufman had radically different personalities, just because he did some things as Clifton it doesn't mean he liked those as himself!

It comes down to the Strip Club question, actually. In a Strip Club, you're supposed to sit back, enjoy the dances and that's it, no touching either yourself or the dancers on stage. Just because a chuuba does some sexy appeal, or queerbaiting, it doesn't mean you're going to date them, so just enjoy the show in an emotionally mature way. Concluding, there isn't a problem with that lol!
