By far the cringiest part of all this imo is the right-wingers on social media who unironically take Musk at his word and are excited for the future of Twitter and considering rejoining that platform.

This, 1000 times, this. The number of gay-op "newspaper articles" I had to see over the past 2.5 years citing "twitter" as THE source for public opinion on "X" policy blew me away. Drove me up the wall, and often a topic of converstation when I was talking to other people. Most don't know about the rampant astroturfing bots, I didn't even need to bring up the biased censorship, that was enough for people to go "hmmm?"

Yeah, he seems to be the blue checkmark stereotype. He acknowledges twitter influences elections but seems convinced only right wing politicians play dirty.
He brought up the fact that some right wing accounts gained a suspicious amount of followers since the Musk takeover, but I would be legitimately shocked if every politician wasn't using bots to boost their follower count.

I'm a little relieved that Musk is acknowledging that people are going to want him dead now, which has sort of been my concern for a while. I'm not sure what billionaire-level security looks like, but I hope they are devoted fanatics to be honest. He's really stirring up the hornets nest, and he hasn't officially taken over yet.
