Luckily when it comes to selectively breeding mutants, some popular domestic species are relatively unscathed. Guinea pigs are an example of this, they have their issues but they're relatively long-lived rodents, making it consistently to around 6 if in good health (my oldest guinea pig was almost 9).
There are some genetic defects that result not directly from selective breeding but by recessive genes that create certain coat colours. In guinea pigs this is roan and Dalmatian:

Dalmatians have a particular pattern of spotting as you can see, "roan" is when you have white hairs evenly dispersed amongst black hairs.

You cannot breed a roan to a roan, a Dalmatian to a Dalmatian, or a roan to a Dalmatian. This is because if a guinea pig receives 2 copies of the recessive gene that causes these coat colours, and if it's born alive, it will be what's called a "lethal white". With these pairings there is always a 25% chance of any offspring being a lethal white. Here's some pics of them:

Whilst they aren't visibly SMASHED and SLAMMED, they're pretty disabled. They produce no pigment and so are always albino. They have underdeveloped and occasionally missing/no eyes, are usually totally deaf and blind, have underdeveloped or missing/no teeth, underdeveloped jaws, and GI tract/internal organ deformities. They also have a reduced lifespan. Because of their tooth and jaw issues, if you want to keep one alive, it will require syringe feeding for life (guinea pigs constantly graze so this isn't an easy task), or specialised food in tiny or soft pieces. They often can't absorb nutrients properly because of their GI tract deformities so their growth is often stunted and sometimes they just starve to death. They can technically survive with a good enough quality of life, as some lethals are more functioning than others, but they're all fucked up to a degree.

The understanding is that basically the recessive gene that causes the roan and Dalmatian coat colours is directly involved with pigment production and the formation of neurons and nerves in a foetal guinea pig. This is why they are almost always deaf and blind with various underdeveloped organs.
There's a similar condition in horses associated with the frame overo pattern although it's slightly different in that the coat colour doesn't guarantee carrying the recessive gene, and the foals are born relatively normal except all white, but die or must be euthanised as they have a non-functioning lower GI tract.

That's interesting. The Dalmatian and roan genes in Guinea pigs must be very similar to the merle gene in dogs. Breeding two merle dogs together can result in a double merle dog. When double merle dogs survive, they are often blind and/or deaf. The eyes are often malformed or even absent.
Best part of that is there are double Merle Australian Shepherd studs out there whose owners promote them as "guaranteed Merle litters". Of course these dogs have no or very small malformed eyes among other issues.

Don't even get me going about "white dobermans."

double Merle Australian Shepherd studs

Somehow that's the foulest thing I've ever heard.

Although, on a happier note I once met a woman on a train with a wheezing smush face Merle American bully. I was quietly seething and judging but then we got to chatting.

The backstory was, her garbage sister had decided to get in on SMASHING and SLAMMING and bought a couple of Merle bitches from a puppy farm for peanuts, but hated dogs and couldn't be arsed to care for them. So she offered my new train friend a cut of the profits if she would board the dogs.

New fren gladly agrees, and proceeds to spend 2 years lying about the dogs' cycles, leading the sister to waste thousands on pointless stud fees until she decides the girls must be barren and signs them over to their carer. Who promptly hauls them off to the vets for spaying and lets them retire as disabled house pets.

Was the best train ride ever, and by the end I was fully prepared to stay on past my stop to get the end of the story. 10/10 would recommend

Please enlighten us about white dobermans.
I heard they kiss their goats on the mouth for whatever reason.
Fucked up if true, but we already know what white girls do to their dogs so I wouldn't be surprised.

What they do to dogs is smalltime compared to what they do to fish, I could post telescope eyes or other fucked up goldfish morphs but I think most people know about them. Goldfish have a natural lifespan of about 20-40 years depending on how warm you keep them. Fancy goldfish rarely reach 10 due to their SMASHED and SLAMMED physiques. But the trend has spread to other fish including monsterfish, here's a Bichir

Now let's SLAM IT INTO THE GROUND

Funny how it also looks like a fucking frog, the toad phenotype is strong. They do the same thing to arowanas and a lot of other fish, just look up "short bodied" plus any fish's name.
What the fuck. They like evolved this fish into a proto Tiktaalik. This MF is going to start a new branch of land life

Fancy pigeon breeding can be pretty horrifying. The first one that come to mind is American Fantails whose bred so their heads sit above their ass. Their skeletons are deformed like that and they have extreme difficulty moving or eating.

Budapest Short Faced Tumblers have eyes so large that sometimes they are unable to close them.

Barb Pigeons are prone to blindness and infections from the cere/wrinkles around its eyes.

And some people have bred the Barb and Short Faced Budapest pigeons together.

Beakless breeds are also a thing that people have bred for, which results in extreme difficulty preening and feeding their young.

On the other end of the spectrum we have the Egyptian Moraslat, which looks like its melting. Similar to the beakless pigeons, it can be assumed they have difficulty preening and feeding their young. (There's not a lot of information about these pigeons in particular, though I think it's just because they aren't taken to the vet for annual check ups/etc.)

They really gave a bird cleft palate. This is fucking gross and I hate humans

Albino mutation with the usual host of associated health and temperament problems.

The fans of this mutation are trailer trash who insist that because the dogs have blue eyes and slight pigmentation they're not AT ALL albinos, thus all your arguments are invalid. Meanwhile they trade tips on light sensitivity (the dogs squint ALL THE TIME if they're forced to go outside, and the behavior problems from being nearly blind yet bred to bbe alert and vigilant. It's a shitshow.

Then there's "silver Labradors" with grey coats and green eyes, that absolutely DO NOT mean there's a Weineraner ancestor or two back there. The breed club goes nuts over these because they're "not purebred", the promoters make bank by claiming it's a "rare color" thus worth many times more than your boring black, yellow and chocolate standard colors, and just register the puppies as "chocolate" for the AKC. Much handwringing. At least it's not a health issue.

Pigeons are typically very kind birds and make much better pets than parrots, they do NOT deserve this shit. Regular fancy breeds look fine on their own- these things just look repulsive in comparison. Here's some healthy pigeons to soothe your soul.

Rather have a mutt then a SMASHED and SLAMMED purebred. Honestly the obsession with Purebred dogs has done quite a bit of harm, it's easier to be sleazy when it comes to husbandry, meaning lazy backyard breeders will take that route over carefully picking stock from multiple lines to prevent genetic conditions.

II'm sure bigfootjinx won't help with this either. (no hate to Jinx or her owner, she looks like a healthy cat despite the deformities) Someone mentioned twisty cats in thread, and that's what Jinx's legs remind me of.
I think Jinx is fine because the owner isn't breeding her or trying to make it a fad. Her and her owner are a rare outlier in these cases, of what seems like genuinely good people with good intentions. I really hope nothing bad happens because of them. They don't deserve that.

I forgot about the horror that is the Gibber Italicus Canary. This bird is created from intensive inbreeding of South Dutch Frill Canaries. They originated from Southern Italy and are considered "rare", most people who do want them want them for their posture. They have short life expectancy, inbreeding depression and usually die before they hatch. I couldn't find much information on how they eat, but I imagine it would be difficult as they always look like they're about to fall off the perch.
